      Jesse Mullen ye but in hvv parvati was confused big time. For example, Russell told her that the heroes were voting for Jerri on the merge vote. But parvati didn’t know what to do so she played 2 idols even though she could’ve kept an idol. Still a great strategist. I just don’t think she’s the best.

    I may have never seen Robs first season but he was amazing beating everyone but his wife in all stars, he was running heroes vs villains before a risky move by Russle took him out... and in redemption Island.... he played the most perfect game that I have ever seen anyone play despite everyone knowing he was a huge threat....

  • @Abyssionknight
    @Abyssionknight 9 лет назад +107

    I think the toughest to beat would be Russell. Yes, if you got to the final tribal council you could beat him, but getting up to that point is the challenge. If you're a smart player, you'd have to play smart while convincing Russell you're not a smart player and you're not a threat.
    If you oppose him, or he views you as a threat, he will take you out of the game. He'll outwit you, outplay you, and outlast you.

    • @plansforus
      @plansforus 3 года назад +5

      Respectfully I have to disagree, OP. He’s only won a total of 5 challenges so he’s easily outplayed that way. Russell’s ultimate downfall is his ego - he has to be the focal point, the “king” by his own admission. It alienates those around him when it counts most. His inability to manage a jury means by definition he cannot outwit and it’s why he’s lost to Parvati twice. He has no social game and that’s why he loses. Jeff is spot on, Rob and Parvati are the epitome of Survivor. They have the physical, mental, and social game down to a science. I’m not a huge Parvati fan but she’s an incredible player. Had Tyson not taken Russell’s bait, I think Rob would have won Heroes vs. Villains. I’m not saying Russell isn’t a great player in general, he’s made impressive and long lasting alliances, but he isn’t the toughest to beat. I’d say Sandra is up there as well, even though her physical game isn’t always the best.

    The question wasn't who the best were. The question was who would be the hardest to beat. Parvati is the hardest to beat. She was targeted day 1 on two seasons and made it to the end on both, managing to win one. In HvV, russell and Sandra did everything possible to try and get her voted out. Parvati either had too many allies, won immunities/had idols, or straight up fooled people into getting rid of someone else. Sandra is a great survivor, but if at any moment someone in control wanted her out, she would be out. Her great game is that she never made people in control want her out or she was so lucky bigger threats were around deep into the game. Parvati and Sandra can see when something lucky happens and use it to their advantage, but Parvati also creates paths for herself in case something goes wrong. Sandra creates a path for herself that leads her to win, but in any moment if her plan is derailed and they really want her out she is out. I mean in HvV all of the winners were targeted early except Sandra, she has less of a struggle. If she is on a tribe that keeps losing, she never makes it to the merge. Who knows is J'Tia could have won Cagayan if she made the merge, but because she was on a crap tribe, she never got the chance. People like Todd and Sandra lucked out on being on strong tribes, whereas people like Parvati make their tribes stronger.

      Anh Phương Nguyễn I disagree. Her only social connections were with Danielle and Russell who were both on the outs. Russell was the one to actually approach them both. Parvati was the one who had to buy into Russell. The logical move with a 3-3-3 split coming would be to vote out Russell because if he doesn’t play the idol, she goes home. Parvati is a great player but she ain’t the greatest. She benefited playing with Cirie in her 2nd season and Russell in her 3rd season

    There is no "best Survivor player"; however, Jeff is more voting based on the more interesting style of play and who he thinks has the best concept to win the game. Yes, Sandra may have won twice, but Jeff might not like her concept of playing. For example, would you say that Natalie, who beat Russell Hantz in Samoa, is a better player than Amanda Kimmell or Cirie Fields? Stating a "Best Survivor Player" is more of an opinion question than a fact. Stop getting butt hurt over Probst's opinions. I actually do think that Boston Rob is the greatest Survivor player of all time because he understands the concept of Survivor so well. He was a winner who relied very little on Luck to get to the final 2/3 and win. He reads people well and knows who to trust, who not to trust, when to turn on people, etc. Actually, one of my favorite moments of Survivor happened on the very first episode of Redemption Island. That moment was when Boston Rob asked Kristina to give up her idol and she refused. That told Rob that she clearly could not be trusted. That was a very smart move in my opinion. Basically my point of this giant paragraph is that you people should stop getting butt hurt because there is no true "Best Survivor". It's an opinion more so than a fact. Hell, I can say Richard Hatch is the best Survivor player because he's the one who basically invented Survivor. It depends on how you look at it as "Best Survivor Player". If you want to base it off of stats, then Sandra wins because of her 2 wins in only 2 tries. Next would be Parvati for playing the most days and winning once.

      Agreed! Sandra is the best player because she has won every time she played without winning one immunity challenge or finding one idol. The 2nd time was the most impressive because she ALREADY WON. How? Her jury management is flawless. Many contestants (cough Russell cough) forget that the jury awards the $1M, not the editors or the viewers (except that time with Rupert). They focus on breaking challenge records, making "big moves", "building their resumes", etc. But that only enlarges the target on a person's back. The best games played were Sandra and Jeremy's 2ND times. Both won against formidable all-stars and twists.

  • @jimbeam4140
    @jimbeam4140 9 лет назад +91

    Boston Rob is definitely a great player but he is not the best player of all time. Probst likes him because he's charismatic and he's probably the most popular Survivor, which on TV is huge. The problem is that Rob has only won because he's come back so many times. Twice he didn't even make the jury and once he made the final only to lose because his jury management is terrible. Anyone who comes back four times has a decent chance to win and Rob is the only one to have been given that opportunity. Rob isn't even the best Survivor player if you take out the jury because Russell Hantz is by far the most dominant player. I have watched a ton of Survivor and I think two of the best overall players are pretty quiet and not overly popular. Kim Spradlin dominated her season and made almost no mistakes and was a physical threat to boot. By far the most underrated Survivor is Stephen Fishbach who came second behind J.T. Thomas, probably the most likeable Survivor ever. Fishbach played a perfect strategic game despite having no physical gifts and absolutely no charisma. He gave credit to Thomas for the strategy which sent the two of them to the final two, but I think he was being generous. When Thomas came back for Heroes and Villains, he made one of the biggest mistakes in Survivor history, something which Fishbach would never have done. Parvati and Sandra are both very good players, but Parvati is probably a little better. I would LOVE to see Kim Spradlin and Parvati play each other. It would be amazing.

      Jim Beam Yul and Tony were far more dominant during their seasons than Russel. Take into account that Yul had to face against Ozzy and Tony had to take out Spencer and Kass. Russell had an easy season full of injuries and young dumb ass. Plus, considering Rob ended up with Amber he definitely was the sole winner that season in his eyes. Plus, to win a season with such a target on your head is quite an achievement, while still keeping his cool. Hantz was dramatic for the spotlight.

    • @jimbeam4140
      @jimbeam4140 9 лет назад +1

      ***** Drugs. That's the only thing I can think of to justify your response. YOu must be on drugs. Russel dominates the day to day game like no other. Yul had to rely on his female partner who was in NO WAY his puppet the way Natalie was Russell's. Yul was lucky on numerous occasions and only made the finals once. Tony is a great player and he dominated but talk to me when he has done it twice, especially against dominant all-stars who know what they're dealing with. Russell's second season was masterful. He had a HUGE target on his back but made it to the final anyway and beat Rob in the process. Tony has a long way to go to equal that.
      If you think Rob had a huge target on his head try Russell's second season. And Rob wasn't very close to winning that season with Amber. The vote was close, but people hated him and nobody that voted for amber were close to changing their vote his way.

    • @Mike-ls8et
      @Mike-ls8et 9 лет назад +1

      Jim Beam
      Beat him!? Russel didn't even win that season so how can he have beat him? Russel had to rely on an immunity idol every season! The move on Lex to save Amber was the biggest manipulated move on survivor. Yeah, Russel can attempt to scare his opponents but no one was scared. You say "especially against dominant all-stars". Almost positive season 8, the season Rob carried Amber to victory was against even harder All-Stars...
      You claim Yul was lucky!? Are you stupid? It was Yul who got them into the top 4 (Passed top 9) When he convinced Jonathon to switch for a second time! The fact that Tony called every single play how it was and it folded out the way he intended was marvelous. He was bending emotions while no one knew it was him. Thus, why he won. "Russel dominates the day to day game". If anything it's complete opposite. He dominates at the last minute find immunity idol game. A game that Rob hadn't even experienced before season 22. If anyone dominated day to day game it would've been Tony. He manipulated almost every jury decision and had perfect blindsides while finishing the game on top. Russel is just a poster child who can convince young dumbass girls while players like Yul and Tony are marionettes even to the strongest players, their dominance within the game shows by the fact that they didn't even really need to win Immunity Challenges to win.

    • @jimbeam4140
      @jimbeam4140 9 лет назад

      ***** " Russel didn't even win that season."
      Since when is this discussion about winning seasons? The whole premise of my argument is that Russell is the best PRE JURY player. If you aren't aware that that's what I'm discussing then you have no business in this conversation.
      "Russel had to rely on an immunity idol every season! The move on Lex to save Amber was the biggest manipulated move on survivor."
      You seem to be completely ignoring ALL aspects of the game and are exclusively focussing on your narrow idea of what makes a great player. I'm talking about making it to the jury and that INCLUDES FINDING THE IDOL. In fact Russell completely turned the game on its head by repeatedly finding the idol. That's a SKILL and it's one of Russell's fortes. To preclude that from this argument is be having another discussion entirely.
      "....but no one was scared." That's a RIDICULOUS comment and not even worthy of a response.
      "Almost positive season 8.... was against even harder All-Stars" Utter NONSENSE. As the game has evolved, players learn much more about strategy and how to win. It makes being a threat MUCH harder as people have learned that removing threats is what it takes to win. In earlier seasons, even all-stars were naive at times.
      "You claim Yul was lucky!? Are you stupid?" No, YOU are stupid. Yul was a great player but he had a HUGE advantage by having Becky in his back pocket. She was a fellow Korean and because of that they had a built in bond. He didn't have to work for that bond the way Russell did with Natalie and all of his girls.
      "Tony.... was bending emotions while no one knew it was him." Russell was also calling the game and most of the time people KNEW it was him bending emotions which is even harder than what Tony did.
      "Russel is just a poster child who can convince young dumbass girls." Again, this is something that Russell innovated and added to the game. No player in Survivor history targetted younger women and exploited them prior to Russell. Russell saw a vulnerability and exploited it and in doing so added the "dumb young girl" factor to the game. You're viewing his strategy in hindsight which is completely ignoring Russell's innovations and creativity towards survivor. A further irony is that Rob STOLE this strategy from Russell to beat him in their head to head. If Russell had the same group that Rob had in that season then Russell would have made a THIRD jury. The only reason Rob won, was getting lucky with his tribe mates.
      "....that they didn't even really need to win Immunity Challenges to win." This is your dumbest comment to date. If ANYONE didn't use challenges to win, it's Russell. Yul was very good in challenges.
      To sum up, I think you're a TERRIBLE Survivor critic and only seem to view the game through a strategic lens all the while ignoring or downplaying things like Idols and manipulation. Russell is a horrible person who basically uses young women the way pimps use whores, but he understands enough about human nature to be able to exploit human weaknesses. You are completely subjective againt Russell just based on his offensive personality but a cold, clear-eyed view of the game shows that he's EASILY the most dominant player from beginning to jury in survivor history.

      ***** "[sandra] didn't well vote wise" have you not watched heroes vs villains in a long time or something? because if you haven't, try re-watching it and pay attention to sandra, basically everything she did was in order to get jury votes She had literally all of the heroes votes secured from the fact that she repeatedly tried to save them but they were all too dumb to ever listen to her, she had Courtney's vote secured because they were best friends, she won a lot of the other jury votes when she pulled the idol out of her bra in the middle of tribal- you'd have to be an idiot (like Russel, because no-one that's actually good at survivor would not only backstab everybody on the jury and make final 3 deals with everybody right before getting them voted off, not only one time, but doing it TWICE IN A ROW- any body could play like russell did, it's just that they all know that won't get them any jury votes) to not realize that if she got to the finals, no matter who she was up against, she'd end up winning the jury.

    Here's why I think Rob deserves the title as one of the best. While he didn't make the jury in Marquesas, he controlled the Maraamu tribe. He convinced his tribe to vote out their strongest member because he was a threat to Rob's game. Once the swap came, he lost power and never got it back. I'm not going to say "Screwed by the swap, he would've won if there wasn't a swap" but he at least could've made the jury if there was no swap (Rotu probably would've gone into the merge with numbers and pagong Maraamu). Then we get to All Stars. His game in Survivor: All Stars is one of the best non-winning games ever played. He controlled Chapera with his queen Amber, he made sure he had good relationships with his entire tribe,and voted out the right people at the right time. He convinced Lex to save Amber with only 10 words, he turned Big Tom and Rupert against each other at Final 5 when it would make perfect sense for them to team up, and he convinced Jenna not the draw rocks at Final 4. His only mistake was taking Amber to the end and not Jenna. I believe Kathy, Alicia, ShiiAnn, and Amber would all vote for Rob in the end over Jenna. I think we can all admit that Rob deserved to win All Stars. He was also controlling the Villains until the infamous Tyson move. He might have been able to pull it again without a player like Parvati up against him. Plus his game in Redemption Island in a vacuum is one of the most dominating games in Survivor history. Anyone who says Rob is a terrible player is delusional. Anyone who says Russell is better than him is delusional. I can see Parvati ahead of him, but I think Rob is definitely a Top 5 player at least.

    • @russianskatingfan
      @russianskatingfan 9 лет назад

      GanondorfBowserHatch Rob did not deserve to win All Stars. The key to winning Survivor is to get to the end with people less likeable than you (which for Rob is a very small pocket of people always) and Rob failed to do that in All Stars. Ambers social game was way better and she got to the end with Rob so she deserved to win.Also hahaha at Alicia voting for Rob over ANYONE. Don't be an idiot. Rob would have lost to Jenna too. His social game had been so bad and with no monstrous goats as bad as Phillip or Tenerelli that season he was always losing most likely.It is funny you call Rob on Redemption Island one of the most dominant after saying everyone should just accept he was robbed on All stars. Had he gotten to the finals of Redemption Island with anyone except Phillp and Natalie Tenerelli he loses. He admits so himself, and the whole cast confirm this, so dont even start with delusions of otherwise.So had Ashley not won the F5 immunity and Grant makes the finals, or Ashley not won the F4 immunity and Ashley makes the finals, you would be whining he was supposably robbed twice, and yet that is the most dominating. No.Of course Rob is a good player. Just nowhere near the best ever. Not even close.

    True, but imo, both Rob and Parvati lost in the finals because of bitter juries. I think they both gave amazing arguments but majority of the jury still didn't vote for them because they were upset (at Rob himself in All-Stars, and at Russell in HvV, whom Parvati aligned with). But I agree that some definitely failed miserably in the FTC, especially Amanda. She could've won twice but gave terrible answers.

      +Jamie Fleury Agreed! parvati isn't as smart as ppl make her out to be. She was horrible in cook islands & only won micronesia bcuz of Amanda sucked infront of jury. In micronesia, her only move was to get those two girls. Cirrie did all the planning & parvati took all the credit. Amanda made the move to save her self & convinced erik to pick her so parvati didnt do shit. I think that was cirries idea as well when erik gave up immunity.. executed by natalie.
      Russel should've won both his seasons. Hes the reason coach & jerry followed em. not bcuz of parvati. coach saw thru paravati's bs but believed russell. You can't beat that. Russell also saved parvatis ass.

      Parvati isn't really a dominating challenge competitor. She's good but not someone who has to rely on winning them. He admires Parvati because she had to play chess from the second everyone on both tribes saw her on the beach. Sandra was playing checkers all the way through HvV. She might have won but the degree of difficulty of the game Parvati had to play vs everyone else because of the way people viewed her before the game started was off the charts. Sandra wouldn't even be competitive in a similar situtation. She'd be gone.

    • @Romans8-9
      @Romans8-9 10 лет назад +26

      Sandra was really the beneficiary of some massive luck in her second season. She was never in a dominant position and she was more or less dragged to the end as a goat when Russell had a brain explosion and voted off Danielle. Sandra is probably the luckiest player definitely not the best.

    • @ElectrikkPaperClipxx

      ElSpewtardo Sandra did a good job outwitting Russell into thinking she was a goat, even though it was obvious that the heroes were on her side. Dominant positions don't mean much when they lack jury management.

      Tough to manage the heroes jury though with all the bruised egos and what not. Parv lost the game then Russell voted off Danielle but she had no choice but to align with him from the beginning. I think Parv played the best game that season. I think Russell voting off Danielle goes to show how awful he is at the game.

      I can't speak to her first win because I didn't watch it, but in HvV, Sandra only made it to the end through extreme luck and because she was so incredibly non-threatening. Russell rightfully brought her to the end because she didn't do anything and assumed the jury wouldn't respect her for being a goat; if he had any idea they would vote for her just to spite him because they were bitter and petty, he would have had her eliminated because he controlled the game.
      First, she decided to align with Boston Rob, but her alliance was eliminated by Russell and she only survived because of the merge. From there, she lost every immunity challenge, and kept trying to vote out the very person who was carrying her to the end, and kept failing. She only made it to the end because she happened to be the least threatening member of the villains tribe, and she only beat Russell and Parvati because the council was so bitter that Russell outplayed all of them that they wouldn't even vote for Parvati because she didn't disavow him.

    In the season game changers Sandra was actually doing a great job, she got tony out, and a lot of other people who were gunning for her, but the only reason why she got out was because every single person who played that season knew that Sandra has to get out because there is no clean slate when they would switch tribes, Sandra had to find a way to get the target off of her back and she had a huge target because she won twice. But really, you could tell that most of the Heroes were much more impressed with Parv's gameplay (especially Rupert and Colby) than with Sandra's. Yeah, she tried to help them and that's a major factor in her getting their vote, but the other huge factor is that they were pissed at Russell and didn't like the fact that Parv was allied with him and refused to vote for her.

  • @i1upp1ayer1
    @i1upp1ayer1 10 лет назад +4

    boston rob; in the marquases(season4) he was a good but not great player. in all stars(season 8) he played the most dominating game ever played at the time and made the final 2, coming in 2nd to his fiance and future wife, amber. in heroes vs villians(season 20) he was playing just as amazing when tyson was tricked into wasting his vote which got him voted out instead of russell [it would have been a 3way tie between parvati/russell/tyson, with 6 votes being split on the parv and russell and the parv/russell/danielle alliance of 3 voting on tyson. then the 6 would vote out whoever didnt play the idol, russell being 1st option. russell (lied)told tyson he would vote parv, which would of made it a 4-3-2 vote, so for some reason tyson threw his vote at her as well when it was suppose to go to russell. russell kept his vote on tyson which made it 4votes-parv 3votes-tyson 2votes-russell, then russell played his idol on parvati cancelling her 4 votes, leading to tyson going home 3-2.] that led to the demise of rob, he wasnt out played or out witted really, just lost because of a 'team mate' making a flat out stupid mistake. and in redemption island(season 22) he played the greatest game thats ever been played... he's played 2 of the top 5 games i've ever seen, maybe the best 2 games ever, and he was right on track in heroes vs villains. easily the best survivor we've seen so far.

      The thing that makes Rob not as good as players like Sandra (besides his inferior record) is that he's good at the game in a way that's really obvious to others. The part of Survivor where he falls down is in the area of shifting the focus to other people. He's like a walking bullseye, and that's not a good thing.
