The thing that people underestimate Parvati for is her ability to not let the harsh conditions bother her. Sometimes when Parvati is on screen I forgot I was watching Survivor and instead I was watching the Real World because she seems like she is in a good mood but she must be starving and tired.
Oh, my advice for a new show is 2nd Generation - their parents already played and now it's their chance. Some need to redeem their parents or settle scores on their behalf, others may need to prove to their moms and dads that they are just as tough and can hack it... I think the loved one's episode could be MONEY.
she's not the sole decision-maker, this is just her views. most people probably don't hit every box, if they have a great TV personality and stamina they'll probably choose them
Lol what? That's not true at all. Dan Foley, Mike Borasi, Debb Eaton, Susan Hawk, should I go on? Every single season has people that aren't attractive. Idk wtf you're smoking. Big Brother is the "pretty boy" show where everybody looks like models. Survivor always went for (or at least tried to go for) personality over looks. Of course, they need a couple bikini bodies and a couple of captain america types, but your personality will make or break you 9 times out of 10 over your looks.
You don’t have to be hot, there are a lot of average looking girls, middle aged people, some overweight people, etc it doesn’t matter they accept them all.
I'm honestly waiting for the day when Parvati takes Jeff's place as host. Parvati is 100% the best Survivor player by a landslide. She would have won Heroes vs Villains if it weren't for the bitter jury. T_T
I'm 18, I work in a grocery store, have had some struggles in my life, I want to apply, but I feel like imma get so awkward during the casting process. ugh
Awesome, awesome interview. You have a knack for knowing when to speak, when to back off, and even when to prod an interviewee. And though I doubt I would audition for a reality show anytime soon, the fact that life experience IS such a big factor makes me contemplate doing so in the future.
Honestly, the biggest criteria that will probably help you the most above all others is being conventionally attractive, or at least, not unattractive. Reality TV is still TV and it seems like MOST of the time (but not always) they're going to want pretty/thin people who are good to look at while you watch. Edit: I see pretty much every person replying chose not to read the "MOST" and "but not always" in my comment lol.
Mike Borassi says hi lol. There have been A LOT of unnattractive people on Survivor, every single season there is a few. Yeah it certainly helps to be good looking, but being bad looking won't hurt your chances. It's your personality that's gonna do it.
@@nickp3949 Basically don't be generic on the applications and video. I've seen more uggos and 40+ cast for Survivor recently, but they're awesome when I read their bios. I feel like I know them through their words and how they arrange them and deliver them.
I think I apply every few months, during casting, not doing casting, and I'm just not sure if I'm doing the most but I love this show so much. I think i'll apply until I die. One huge reason why I love this show, age isn't a major factor.
that casting director is very one dimensional, I can see why casting comes out the way it does. they cast "barbie and Ken" like a million times. and ozzy and variants of the same person. joe, etc. obviously they're different personalities but there is too much that is the same. I think also that they should do an international season.
greimalkin I actually liked her a lot, she seemed to have great answers and obviously knows what she's doing. But I agree with you. the same archetypes are cast fairly often. there's a certain formula they follow, and it's more obvious in Big Brother than it is Survivor.
As a follow up to this comment (lol), it is annoying how they cast exact archetypes. Ozzy, Malcolm, Joe, etc etc. They surprise me sometimes though. One season will have 5 black people, the next: 1. Which shows they're moreso looking at personality now. It's hard cuz you WANT 18 completely different personalities, but you don't want obvious archetypes... So they should continue to strive for a mix of ordinary, unique, and interesting people. Not too much of anything. And true diversity would not allow for a bunch of extroverts either, shy people shouldn't be discriminated against.
I’ve been wanting to play Survivor since I was a kid. I’m finally 18 and am able to apply, but even though I think I would be able to win, I don’t think I have all the life experience to get me to that point. I plan on working hard to get me to a point where I can feel comfortable in the application process and confident I can do well in the game. I don’t think I’m too far off
The very first season of surviver came out the year before I was born so I grew up watching the show. I'm 18 and though I had to be 21 to be on the show. Well I found out the other day I'm finally old enough to be on the show. I know if I make it I would be great and so excited.

They’re looking for people who will bring in the viewers aka people who will make good tv. Gotta be one of these 1. Attractive/ charming 2. Eccentric personalities or quirky 3. Interesting backstory 4. Driven and cut throat willing to make big moves 5. Athletic 6. Unusual profession. 7. Funny hilarious types. If you fall into more than one of these categories than you’re good tv. No one wants to get bored while watching the show.

Just watched Winners at War, I'm so bummed you didn't get further and win, but they all were terrified of you!!! You are so good at what you do on Survivor they couldn't chance it 😁. Cheers beautiful!
i noticed that a lot of castaways selected are from California, a lot are good looking and gym fit bodies (understandable for eye candy purposes). However, i wish they will cast fit and good-looking Native Americans on the show especially from New Mexico, South Dakota and Alaska. Only 2 Native Americans have been cast - Julie Berry (50% Maliseet) and Elyse Umemoto (25% Yakama)

Hi from a year in the future! To answer your question, I read on reddit that they prefer new videos every time, as watching the same video again can get tiresome, it can also show how you've changed.
They are really not picky survivors the one show where they look for all different types of people. Not like Big Brother where they are mostly looking for an image survivor everyone looks gross lol after a week on the island. So really don’t be afraid to apply the most important thing is you don’t gotta be an Ozzy or a Parvati or a Boston Rob be yourself show your strengths and weaknesses. Do not lie they can see through that but also don’t be shy either just be you. And if you don’t get a reply keep applying every year do t give up. Anyone can get on this show trust me.
Hey I'm from Belgium, but we don't have a show like Survivor anymore, but literally, this is my dream, does anyone believe you could also get cast if you're not American?
Kinda of late for a question but if you please know the answer please tell me :). I have a dual citizenship to america and England. But i live in England does that stop me from applying?
yeah i know , im wanting to apply in a year or too , but i dont know if i have to be residing in the us. Ive read various rules which contridict each other.
The winner of Survivor China, Todd, had dual citizenship(American and Canadian). When he collected the million dollars, he had to renounce his Canadian citizenship. I’m not sure what would happen to you, since he lived in America and you live in England.
David John Clark - Actor it is interesting, I suppose. I personally can't, even though I live in CA. But it's a no brainer to learn how before applying.
I might be want to be part of one of the seasons, maybe when I'm at least 18 to my early 20s, but I have a question. If u had a job, how would u inform them about this. If, u were accepted to be part of the cast?

that’s actually a great idea
I just wanna see Jeremy or Tony or Ciera’s kids on when they’re older
Ives been saying these for years! They could call it “LEGACY”!
Most of the kids that the WoW had were too young though. Except for Jeremy's.
God no! I'm still traumatized from Brandon Hantz lol. (I know he was Russell's nephew, but still)
interesting she points out its good to know the show yet they recruit so many people who know nothing about the show lmaooo
Those are the people who lied to get on the show.
The show should be able to tell if they are lying or not
But did you apply?!?! 🤷

The real way you get on: You have to be hot (most of the time) and be interesting.
Problem is very few people are both that apply to Survivor.

CBS will not be firing Jeff probst anytime soon lmfao. Only way survivor gets a new host is if Jeff decides to retire.
Jake Russell Hantz but I think it be too aggressive but I think they go with another man to be honest
Sandra played a better game without a doubt. Her playstyle appealed more to the villains while her character appealed to the heroes.
She seems soooo different in her RUclips channel than in survivor like they could be entirely different ppl
it's a game, no one is as manipulative and nasty IRL as they are in the game

True about TV in general, however, easily disproven by the intentional decision to choose people from all walks of life in a social experiment.

Always my dream! Now that they apperently except applications from Canada I feel like I have a shot! Hahan
I love survivor
Great interview wow
17 but im going to basic training this summer and AIT next summer so i cant try out for the show yet :/
A few year old video, but hopefully still applicable advice. Definitely informative and will be used for my video! Lol
Can you use the same video every time you apply or do you have to make a new one each time? Great video by the way😊
Hi from a year in the future! To answer your question, I read on reddit that they prefer new videos every time, as watching the same video again can get tiresome, it can also show how you've changed.
should do a fan favorite season..
Great advice, thank you for {finally!} Opening up auditions to us Canadians!!
Just found out 16 year olds can apply! Is it bad I can think of more then a few ways I have manipulated people lol
just depends on the way you did but gl with applying if you did
How should I go about applying? Who will contact me and how?
I will be on this show
Hey I'm from Belgium, but we don't have a show like Survivor anymore, but literally, this is my dream, does anyone believe you could also get cast if you're not American?
+Samuel Valor - Reyes no, they won't let even Canadians apply.
Abigail True oh god seriously?
+Samuel Valor - Reyes
Canadian here. Can confirm.
You have to be an American citizen or else I'd be making my video but I live in Canada
wampielover93 alright, let's try that out
I think I would be great on the show the only thing is I’m tall so some physical challenges would help but like balance ones would be hard
i wonder how many of those videos they actually watch! im about to submit mine and im nervous it wont even get opened.
step 1: be attractive
Turned 16 and about to try to apply
“Well, first clean the Vaseline on your camera lens”
Kinda of late for a question but if you please know the answer please tell me :). I have a dual citizenship to america and England. But i live in England does that stop me from applying?
Yes
that's too bad, it would be interesting to see people who have dual citizenship on the show.
yeah i know , im wanting to apply in a year or too , but i dont know if i have to be residing in the us. Ive read various rules which contridict each other.
didnt ace have dual citizenship?
The winner of Survivor China, Todd, had dual citizenship(American and Canadian). When he collected the million dollars, he had to renounce his Canadian citizenship. I’m not sure what would happen to you, since he lived in America and you live in England.
MANIFESTING THIS. SEE Y'ALL SOON.
I'll be making my video over the next few days. Wish me luck! 👹
It amazes me that people can't swim.
David John Clark - Actor it is interesting, I suppose. I personally can't, even though I live in CA. But it's a no brainer to learn how before applying.
David John Clark - Actor I think people can just not good like cirie
I can swim but not very well ... I grew up in the desert my entire life. So. That explains why some people can't.
David John Clark - Actor
I LIVE IN VEGAS
Christopher Malone ya cause Cirie such a good swimmer 💀😂 tf like 70% of adults can more than likely swim let’s just be honest
are you still friends with the person you didn't choose on your Amazing Race audition?
I feel like it’s funny that the cameraman’s name is Lynne “Spillman.”
I might be want to be part of one of the seasons, maybe when I'm at least 18 to my early 20s, but I have a question.
If u had a job, how would u inform them about this. If, u were accepted to be part of the cast?
But with you....in the island...
