The way I get around this is I set up a personal automation in Shortcuts that when I open, for example, RUclips, it turns rotation lock off, but when I close RUclips, it turn rotation lock back on.
One thing about Airdrop I wish Apple could make it better - to enable us doing it even when the receiving devices is locked or turned off (screen). I have a lot of photos to transfer and I hate to have to turn on my device with face ID because I have to move my head from what I am doing. It should be smart enough knowing that we are using Airdrop multiple time in a minute so it's secure. Only the owner using it.
I always keep my rotation lock on.. for RUclips if you just swipe up on the video it will go full screen and swipe down on the full screen to go back .

apple really can improve the auto rotation by using the sensors used for face id. it will sometimes auto rotate when i am in bed and they can use the sensors to prevent that. one of the huawei phones use the sensors to do this.
This sucks, why cant you make a video for a completely new iphone owner and start slowly with 1, 2, 3 and so forth. Nope you have to jump to icloud and shit when I do not even know what icloud is.

For the rotation lock: A workaround is to have the rotation lock linked to triple/double back tap (in Accessibility).

AirDrop is built-into the iPhone. You don't need an app for it. You can change settings in Settings>General>AirDrop.
I’m hoping one day the iCloud service will have more than 2TB, because I’ll still be using iPhone and iPads in the distant future .
