Offset sticks are a hard preference for me with 3D games - I find using the 8bitdo joysticks uncomfortable. I also have a PowerA Wireless controller as well as the Switch Pro Controller. I had the pdp multi light controller too that was on this channel months ago and that fell apart where the cable goes into the controller. Even the touted 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ doesn't have HD Rumble, only the older motor-based rumble (and there is a huge difference in tactile feedback between the two--I have one of these in addition to Nintendo's own Pro controller).

I played Minecraft last night for around 7hrs and the thumb sticks are a bit hard on the rubber and started to bother my thumb just a bit. Not a lot but I noticed it. So 3-4hr sessions should be okay. I adjusted to not having handles and the lighter weight overall vs the Switch Pro. Crampy feeling but my hands didn’t hurt after playing that long. Just my thumbs a little bit. Not sure yet on my overall feelings, may use my 8BitDo Wireless Adapter with my WiiU Pro but I’m not a fan of the high analogue sticks. They should’ve added rumble for the price and it’s way bigger than the joycon so they could’ve fit it inside their I would even pay more for it

    How does this compare to the sn30 pro? General consensus i see is this is better for 3d games and the sn30pro is better for 2d

    I really want a controller with gyro that has symmetrical sticks but on the top, like the Wii U controllers. I remember seeing some on amazon a long time ago but it seems that those aren't made anymore.

    I can see a few reasons to pick this up over the SN30 Pro:
    - Home Button wakes the Switch up
    - Offset sticks
    - Larger side shapes that seems to contour to your hands better for what this controller is trying to do compared to the SNES design
    I don't think the original SNES controller design lends itself too well to a modern dual stick design, especially in the style of Sony. This appears to be a more ergonomic and much more convenient controller than the SN30 Pro.
    Come at me fanboys

      Offset sticks in this form factor is more of a con. It's much better suited to 2d games, and the dpad is in a bad place for that.

    • @randomprotag9329
      @randomprotag9329 4 года назад +2

      offset sticks works better if the stick is the focus otherwise it just makes getting to the d pad harder.

      Does the home button wake the switch? None of the reviews, including this one confirm that it does.

      This is $5 more than the SN30 Pro and lacks the grips, the macros, the software, and the rumble that the SN30 Pro+ offers which is also $5 more than ths SN30 Pro.
      The ergonomics of this controller are better suited for modern gaming than the SN30 Pro. I'll give you that. But for real. Anything remotely designed after the SNES controller isn't trying to appease modern gamers.
