I am working on a review for the Hercules Table Saw which will be coming soon. If you have anything you want to see just let me know.
Thanks for the tip only I used the guide on the other side of the tablesaw because of the long board to level it up it worked good
Great idea! That is for the information!
the bar for the miter gage is loose in the track, If you can find a fix for that than were golden
Not trying to be a know it all but if you counter sink holes in the face you can attach bolts and secure with wing nuts on the back so you don’t have to unscrew anything to take that off
So simple and very helpful, Thank you.
Great video brother.
Great video. I think I will be doing this to my hercules table saw. As a side note, the video quality and the lighting is really good. Looks professional as always.
I ALWAYS glue two pieces of plywood together for these things. Plywood flexes to much and in humid conditions will tend to warp, twist, bend, etc. Also leave a small gap at the bottom which not only lets it slide across the table surface easier, but also lets small particles go under it so you're not constantly having to sweep them out of the way.. Also you may want to invest in a Miterset, around $70 to adjust the miter fence for accuracy.
Nice miter gauge trick Brian @Redemption Garage
Good video appreciate the info and trick bro @Redemption Garage
Nice. I need a table saw, that's going to be my next big purchase. Love the new mic too. It reminds me of those high energy infomercial guys.
I bought one to replace my ancient Ryobi because the splitter on the ryobi attached to the back and would never line up right.
The Hercules is probably the best low cost table saw you can find. As you'll see in reviews, it compares to even DeWalt. But the one thing I've noticed with mine is the miter gauge has a tiny bit of play in it. So attaching wood like in this video will help support the wood, but I'm not confident of perfect 90 degree cuts. So you may need to buy a better miter gauge or build a crosscut sled. (my next project)
Not exactly a BIG purchase, but not cheap either. Shop around. I'm ordering a Laguna Fusion 3 in the next few days.. $2400 bucks plus shipping. I bet it's more accurate by leaps and bounds. ;)
THROAT PLATES & ZERO CLEARANCE (standard & dado): Where can I buy throat plates for this Hercules tables? There’s very little to none documentation/info out there for this table saw. For the life of me I cannot find any that will fit, and or a DIY that works such as a “blank” Leecraft, etc. I have a super nice dado stack that I cannot even use because I have no throat plate. Supposedly, the Dewalt DW745 is ‘close to’ identical however, that doesn’t seem to be the case with the throat plates I’ve bought (and returned). It’s driving me nuts that I cannot use my table saw. I’m about to by a new NON-Hercules table saw. Much appreciated!!
Cool quick vid Brian. Good to see you getting into woodworking man. It’s a lot of fun and a little more forgiving than metal work. Love the new Workbench with the t track. Looks cool man. Been wanting to build my dewalt ts into a bench just like you did. Comes down to time. Using it on the floor of my garage is just the way it is for now lol. Stay real brother.
Have been thinking of building a sled for my Hercules, but really, for most of my little projects, this'll do, and it's much simpler. For the commenter that said this is common knowledge and didn't deserve a video; I grew up around hunters, not woodworkers so I can't remember anyone even owning a table saw, much less imparting this info to me when I was a kid. This little upgrade, although simple, didn't seem apparent to me. I can attest, it's not "common knowledge" in every community.
Thanks for the quick and easy upgrade demo. Was wondering about your name "Redemption Garage" and what the meaning may be? Guessing it has something to do with your journey thru life. Steve
I am highly interested in this saw. My main concern is how accurate the fence is. I know it is not rack & pinion but it does slide out on bars of some sort together once locked in parallel to blade...right?
Also, will it handle cutting through 2” slabs of various wood types such as walnut, ash, red oak, etc.?
My weekly use would be cutting down smaller items such as parts for coffee/end tables, coasters, cutting boards, mallets...all the typical beginner type projects.
At $250 on sale for Christmas, this will be hard to beat.
The new model has a rack and pinion fence. I just got one myself
I'm sorry to sound like the safety police, but you need a push stick. I cut my finger the same way your using your saw, it happens in less than a second, it's not fun.
How are you going to use a push stick with a cross cut using a miter guage?
I think he was talking about when you cut it to 4 inches without the miter gauge.
Why a video? This is common knowledge to do with any miter gauge
So you was born with this knowledge? Someone showed you at some point and you learned it so if someone doesnt know now they know.
I'm sure not everyone knows this. Thanks for the tip for the people that didnt know this. There's always so much hate in these comment sections. I wish I was as perfect as some of these people lol.
@4D Chess Player - Because not everyone has a 220 IQ like you Good Will Hunting. I’ve used a table saw for many years and never really considered this. Instead of being a noob, why not post some videos of your own. I’ll be sure to nit pick them apart.
Petty positioning is a constant need in a lot of people....can’t fix it.
