  • While these job-site table saws are inexpensive and great for beginners, all saws could use some improvements. Today I built a zero clearance insert and modified my fence for more accurate cuts.

Bought a Ryobi table saw last weekend. Will test it this coming weekend and try out some mods.

    Thanks for this!
Have you altered the runner slots at all or have any suggestion with it? I find that the metal runner on the miter jig has a little play in it and I’m having the hardest timing getting a crosscut sled to fit perfectly without any play.

I haven't...my runner slots actually have "nubs" that protrude a bit, so just using some hardwood or something as runners for a sled will probably not be possible....that's what ya get for buying a jobsite quality saw...🙄

Did your table top come like that or did you add something to the left (my left). I have the same table saw but don't have that extra surface

The only thing I did to the saw was mount it on a rolling workbench

I didn't see how you extended the cut for the riving knife

I just flipped the insert over, clamped it down with the fence, and ran the blade up through the insert.

Um....you'll have issues with that oak expanding and contracting. Probably should have used a good plywood. Its much more stable

Hasn't been a problem. I live in the desert though, so wood expansion from moisture isn't really an issue here

Is it me, or did you just knock your guide out of square with that fisted hammer down?

I don't think I did...I haven't had any issues with anything since making this video
