      Thanks so much! I’m happy to share our experiences. You’re right, there’s so much to share about this state and our world. I know many want to see us hike (and you all will! So much to come!), but I genuinely hope this encourages people to get out there in their local community and explore. God bless you! 🙏🏼💙

    This was fantastic, I had to watch again. You're right MB, there's just so much to absorb! Beautiful meticulous displays everywhere. The Brown House was my favorite. The large old trees across the property were magnificent. I agree ladies, 10 out of 10. 😊 With respect to the natives, may peace be with you. 🙏

    What an awesome place! I grew up in a rural area and there were many things you showed that I was familiar with “old timers” having when I was a kid. They still had some of those old things in use in their homes. I wish we had things equivalent to half the quality and usefulness these days!!
    The house you said was your favorite- the Brown House I think, is my favorite as well and my dream home. The style is called a dog trot house. The breezeway in the middle is for the air flow. The living areas are usually on the opposite side from the kitchen to lessen the spread of the heat when cooking. Thank you for taking us along to such a beautiful place, I had a blast!! 😁

      I hear ya! The quality of things back then seemed so much better. It was special to take a step back in time for a bit. We really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely visit again.
      Thank you for telling us about the style of the Brown house. I had no idea!! I would love that so much! I told my husband it would be my dream house once we retire and move to the mountains.

    Cool place and kinda bittersweet at the same time , knowing about our involvement with the native Indians 😢, but the part about where the guns and ammo came from ( harpers ferry ) was cool in that you were there on the AT !! ( I think 🤔) can't remember lol seems soo long ago now ! 😅

    • @wildflowersadventures
      @wildflowersadventures  4 месяца назад +1

      I feel that, too. Definitely bittersweet…as I was reading aloud how they were forced out, etc, it touched my heart. But, it was a very cool place to visit!
      And I thought the same thing about Harper’s Ferry when I read the sign, too. We stopped just shy of there but will be there when we get back on the AT next year. Can’t wait!

    The Unknown Soldier here not to tell you my age but that was a radio do the simple fact of all the tubes in it they were that big the TV you showed yeah that's an old black and white no remote you had to get up off your butt in order to change the channel or turn the volume up or down and back then when those things were in use you only had but maybe three or four channels that was it I grew up watching black and white until my dad finally bought a color TV and he spent quite a bit of money on that color TV back then

    Before you walked into the storehouse you read off a list of supplies I'm surprised it didn't mention hardtack that was a type of bread a very hard bread hard enough to break your teeth
