I was sure it was a fox, but cross referenced the sound to be sure. Sounds exactly like a male grey fox. The hiking was perfection and I loved the flashbacks (2023) to show the waterfalls and that crazy shelf cloud that rolled in! Wow, looked like more stairs than Amicalola Falls. 😂 Fall is here in Maine too. The trees around 3000' are really showing off their auburn jewels. 😊 What a beautiful place, thank you so much for letting us tag along. Always welcoming peaceful vibes from you and your family. Take care everyone. ✌️
That makes me feel a lot better knowing it was a fox rather than Big Foot! 😂 It was fun to look back at other times we’ve been here. Neat to see how small LB was, too! This is such a beautiful place. Looking forward to one day making it to Maine! 💙☀️🙏🏼
"WHAT A NICE PLACE" RUGGED AND DRY. THE WORK THAT WAS PUT INTO ALL OF THOSE STEPS. THE BLOWING NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A DEER. DEER CAME THROUGH GOT A SCENT OF HUMANS AND THEY START BLOWING LIKE THAT. GREAT TRAIL WORK OUT.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR JOURNEY!!!😊
Cloudland is such a beautiful place! In the rainy season or dry. I agree! The work that went into those stairs…amazing! I have such gratitude for them! Glad that sound wasn’t Big Foot! 😂 Thanks for being here! 💙☀️🙏🏼
We live near Cloudland Canyon. This has been a extremely dry summer. I haven't been up there in about 15 years. It sure has changed since then. Nice stairs going to the water falls. I didn't realize there were so many trails. Thank you for sharing your hike with us.
Thank you for watching! We’ve been visiting Cloudland for about the last 6 years as an annual family trip. We just love it. North Georgia has stolen our hearts! 💙☀️🙏🏼
Praying for your family's safety during Milton, especially Brian in the course of doing his job. My niece, who grew up in Melbourne but now lives in Fort Lauderdale, and her dad who lives in a senior living facility in Palm Bay, feel they'll be safe to shelter in place. My greatest concern is a childhood friend living on the West Coast in Osprey. She and hubby were told to evacuate, but decided not to do so. Love from No Ga near where the Trail begins. ♥️
Hi Mama and Papa Bear. I hate for this series to end. What a beautiful and peaceful getaway for you both. The canyon was beautiful, tho I can't imagine going down and back up all those stairs. Kyra is such a good girl . Love her booties. Were they really pink. I bet Papa Bear was glad he didn't have to carry her all the way down and back up. Not sure what I think about Sasquach. I'd probably have to see one to fully believe. I think it was a buck breathing outside your tent. Thanks again for sharing this wonderful trip with us. Glad you had a great time. See you next time. Looks like the storm that is coming your way is gonna be a big one. Try to let us know ya'll are OK. Thanks. Take care and stay safe.
We were sad to leave. We felt like the 3 days flew by! We may all try to go back as a family later this year. Kyra is such an awesome dog. Perfect combination of a tough and strong police dog catching bad guys with her daddy, to a sweet and loving lap dog at home. Good to know it was probably just a deer. I didn’t hear anything like that the whole 758 miles we were on the AT! 😂 This week, we had plans to camp on the west coast of Florida near springs, but yeah, it looks like a big storm is headed our way. Praying for all in its path. We’ll make a post when it passes. 💙☀️🙏🏼
Your hubby is a good camp fire maker! Those deer were so cute…. But boy could be dangerous for them- right at that corner in the road. Wow those falls were gorgeous in previous years! All those steps are cool!!! Omgosh that was so cute seeing Kyra sleeping against your lap on the bench. Where in Georgia is this? I love it! Such beauty there! Sorry for all the comments but i feel like i am talking to you as i see your hike. 😂. Thank you for sharing. So happy you and your husband (and Kyra) had a nice few days together.
Thank you! I love being around the campfire with him. ☺️ The falls, when flowing, are truly breathtaking! We like to pack a lunch and sit down there for hours. It’s majestic! Kyra was very comfortable and took a nice nap on my lap. She’s such a sweet girl. She’s the perfect combination of a very tough police dog catching bad guys and a cuddle bug. Cloudland Canyon is in Rising Fawn, Georgia (northwest Ga). We have visited every year for about 6 years now. Thanks for watching! 💙☀️🙏🏼
The fog rolling in was really cool, even if it was from last year. It's funny, I missed the title card for the 2023 waterfall footage and had to back up to figure out how LB popped in and then vanished again 😂 Maybe I missed this too, but how did you start your hiking career at Cloudland Canyon, of all places? Did you live in GA at the time, or just drop a pencil on a map one day and decide to drive ten hours?
Hahaha, that was probably confusing for a minute. 😂 I wanted you guys to see what it can look like. It’s so beautiful and majestic! We chose Cloudland Canyon after reading about it in Backpacker’s Magazine. We were intrigued and have fallen in love with hiking in the mountains ever since. I’ve lived in Florida for 46 years now, so any elevation is fun for us!
I think the sound you heard was a Fox. I live in North Alabama and hear them at night. We like to hike/backpack on the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama & Georgia and I’ve heard them during the night, they make a crazy sound. Love Cloudland Canyon too!
Yeah probably a deer huffing , sometimes they snort real loud too ! Ohh and about the freind in the privy ? Uhh that would have scared the " business " out of me real quick !! LOL 😅 soo about those stairs ? Uhhh 😬 did you wind up really having to climb those all the way back up all those ?? 😮 my quads hurt just thinking about that !! Ohh and just wanted to say thank you for the info on Kyra on the last video , and for always answering my questions and responding 😊 , I followed about 6 people hiking the AT this year, including you and you and 1 other person would respond to questions or comments, soo THANK YOU ! 😊 after seeing those beautiful leaves in GA , can't wait for fall and winter, to hit down here in central FL ! or at least some cooler weather !
Well I’m hoping it was anything other than Big Foot. 😂 And yeah, that spider helped me move with a purpose out of that privy! The 600+ stairs at Cloudland are worth climbing for the views. It’s a good workout. Neither one of us were sore, so that was pleasant! And you’re welcome. I love interacting with you guys. It makes filming and editing these videos so much more fun. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the big storm coming this week. And maybe it’ll cool us off, too! 💙☀️🙏🏼
I have had deer around my tent and they are not that loud. Elk are loud and make huffing sounds too especially in rut. However, you would have heard their bugling sound. I don’t know if they are found in that area. I know bears don’t like dogs and are supposedly more aggressive towards people who are accompanied by their canine companion. Bears are loud and make snorting and huffing noises.
That was my first thought, too! In the AT, Little Bear and I often woke up to deer around our campsite. We never heard that. And according to the rangers, there aren’t bear here, which makes sense why there are regular trash cans all over the place in Cloudland. In reading the comments, people say it was probably a fox! Glad to hear it probably wasn’t Big Foot! 😂
@@wildflowersadventures I would go back to the bear theory rather than Bigfoot! I live in SW Oklahoma. We officially don’t have any cougars. Yet, a friend speaking with a local park ranger admitted a pair were reintroduced to our local wildlife refuge twenty years ago. More recently, we had a cougar near where I live attacking/eating sheep and goats out in the countryside. The attacks stopped after someone hit a cougar on a country road not far from where the attacks had occurred. We officially don’t have cougars yet local farmers had contact with one. Could it be that one has roamed into the park? More likely than Bigfoot, just my guess.
How fun!! Wish we were going back! I wonder how far the hurricane will reach. It seems like there’s some significant impacts expecting to affect a lot of Georgia.
We are! Thank you so much! We only lost one tree, and power for about 18 hours. So grateful. We’re praying for all those who lost much more. Stay tuned for the video we made of our experience with Hurricane Milton. 💙☀️🙏🏼

Last September i attended a bigfoot/ dogman conference in Burnsville,nc. Two western nc cryptid researchers shared a slide of a huge 18" long by 11" wide across toes and 7" wide across heel foot print they had found up on max patch. You and littke bear hiked across top of max patch on the AT.
This November 15 rh and 16 th I am going to the bigfoot festival in franklin,nc. My cryptidcresearching buddy Matthew delph will be one of the guest speakers. His group does lots of researching in clayton,ga area in north Georgia.
Whoa! That’s pretty cool. I didn’t realize there were such things. So, there’s a real belief that there could be such a creature? Crazy to think something unidentified was found exactly where LB and I were just a few months ago! Thanks for sharing! And please keep sharing. I’d love to learn more.

Good video, not a lot of rain this year in mountains, with some good views, old and new views, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Thanks! Looking forward to coming back when it has rained!

Maybe the deer didn’t like the presence of a close relative to the wolf ? 😜

That sounded like a deer blowing, to signal other deer of possible danger. It probably smelled kira.
As long as it wasn’t Big Foot! 😂

Yes, this is Cloudland Canyon State Park in North Georgia (Rising Fawn). I wish we had anything even half this spectacular in Florida.
Is that a scorpion in the privy? Yikes!
No it was a huge spider!! 😵💫
It was just a whitetail buck deer

It definitely is! But this is in North Georgia, Rising Fawn at Cloudland Canyon State Park. Such a beautiful place!
