man I just wanna say I watched you years ago when these were fresh came back to the hobby a few months ago trying to find you again to see if you were still making videos but couldn’t find you till a search of this transmission got me here
Dude, someone with a BUNCH of videos on Traxxas upgrades? I`m SO subbed :D Only have a rustler and not the slash, but a LOT of it will come in real handy ;)
After almost a year the spur gear is now somehow rubbing on the drive shafts any idea how to fix? They’re both molded in place so I’m really lost on how this happened
I highly suggest soaking the bearing in WD-40 for about 20mins occasionally working the bearing to let the WD-40 in. After that soak in Mobile One synthetic oil for 20mins and again occasionally working the bearing to let in the oil. If your daring enough remove the rubber seals first. This helps and makes the process faster.
I know right. Kojo. Has donated alot to jason from a whole 1/10 traxas rally to even the parts to up grade for it and other rc jason has. Big props to Kojo
This long screw they provide you with that attaches to the a arm holder attached to the transmission does not even fit inside the hole that is through the transmission box itself. Anybody else have this problem? By the way I have a rustler.
just swapped trannys in my bandit this vid allowed me to basically to change with only slight references to the instructions. great vid. one thing to watch on a bandit though. the rear arms will bind on the new arm mounts if using the stock arms. takes some time to free up.
I basically have the same setup as you except not the cosmetic upgrades that you have on the creature😢. But I was wondering what the best tires for the slash 2wd with a castle motor and lipo battery and I usually run a little off-road but also on the street. So just wondering what are the best tires for the job or even suggestions. Any help will be appreciated .thanks
The 3 degrees gives you the ability to take turns better. However it very slightly takes away from performance in straight runs. For 0 degrees, it's opposite.
i herd that rpm gear box flexes and the aluminum is to heavy so i would tell u to get the proline performance gears it makes it performs better and more durability so its better than rpm and aluminum
Traxxas fucked up designing the stock gearbox having the a arms connect to it. When the A Arm mount breaks you have to break down the whole fucking truck. What a bunch of assholes. Thanks for this vid. It will help whenever I upgrade from the traxxas trash design to RPM. What a pain in the ass job....
I lucked out and got the last one in my local store, but it is blue. You can get just the main chassis in black, but they are hard to find. Check amazon though. Great vids.
Careful what you say. You're passionate about your knowledge but this is what is advised to do from TRAXXAS. Do not use black grease on the outside of the diff. You can on the inside but it's not advised for the outside. HOWEVER, you could, if you want or choose to, use black grease on the outside. The fact that it's metal means you need to use grease. With plastic gears, you could get away with not using grease at all if ALL or the majority, of the gears are plastic. For example, the inside of the transmission on a MERV.
ok i must say i was a little disappointed when you took the shock covers off the nitro but after the fact i think the new ones look good. Just fyi i think creature is the best looking truck you have

😆 I’m using this video in 2022. Video really helped a lot.
It's amazing that I'm using this video in 2018 May 12th. Thanks for the step-by-step help

2024 still using this video
This vid helped a lot with my installation. Keep up with the Slash vids!
The only god damn video that shows how to do this! Thank you!!
I'm glad you made the upgrade playlists thank you
Your welcome. It took me a LONG time but it was definitely worth it :)
It's now 2019 and I thank you for this helpful video.
Another great video. I really like the green theme. Keep up the good work!

Nice video, very clear and to the point! Thanks!
looking really good. love the outtakes, lol.
I did every step and the gear that holds the slipper clutch is loose maybe the screws I put on are small?
I wanna get one but I get confused we’re all the screws go in the case
Cool upgrade buddy pmsl @ the electrical tape incident!
Omg the out takes rocked. It's like watching a Jackie chan movie and can't wait till the end see there out take great job jason
Wow I need a friend like that
I know right. Kojo. Has donated alot to jason from a whole 1/10 traxas rally to even the parts to up grade for it and other rc jason has. Big props to Kojo
My gear covers not going in right it’s rubbing and wining rear bad

What would be the difference in handling using the two different toe in A-arms adapter?

I did this exactly and my wheels won’t spin. What did I miss?
love the outtakes. I could never have outtakes on my video's. I swear in one long chain of swears lol.

Thanks a lot. This video helped me a lot!
I love the outakes the tape one was so funny I watched it over like 6 times
Does 40mm Motor fits?
Great vid. Gearbox looks good.
instead of rpm parts u gave to him can send some proline parts for me because proline makes the slash performance better than rpm
What does the 3 degree towing do???
I just did this to my slash I went with the 3 degree toe end so how did yours hold up and did you like the 3degree toe in
What is the difference between the 3 degrees and the 0 degrees?
Pros and cons?
The 3 degrees gives you the ability to take turns better. However it very slightly takes away from performance in straight runs. For 0 degrees, it's opposite.
Can I use marine grease
Looks awesome man
How do you know the spacing between the pinion and spur gears is right or perfect ? Is there a way to test?
Buy a fixed gear adapter. Traxxas part #3790.
I have one of those transmission cases in my rustler and in the bandit I'm building
nice video , I don't know what I want to get for my rustler rpm or aluminum gearbox
i herd that rpm gear box flexes and the aluminum is to heavy so i would tell u to get the proline performance gears it makes it performs better and more durability so its better than rpm and aluminum
Can you please tell me the size of those bearings, mine are awful and I need new ones. I think they're 5x11x4 right? Correct me if I'm wrong.
great vids!!! keep up the great work I like what I see. ;)
Did you titen the nut after you put it through the Th hole
Not all the way
Nice...have you ever considered getting rpm's gear cover it's so much better
Honestly, I never thought about it. Perhaps I will.
Nice upgrade

whats up with the bister on your thumb?
If you're talking about 3:30 that was just dirt from the RC.
oh lol
Great vid man, informative as always and the outtakes are hilarious. Good stuff and fell free to critic mine.
You got a new subscriber due to these vids. Any plans on the LOW CG Chassis?
Yes I definitely want to get it. Just not sure when. Having problems finding one in stock for a good price.
I lucked out and got the last one in my local store, but it is blue. You can get just the main chassis in black, but they are hard to find. Check amazon though. Great vids.
The out takes were funny
i just ordered the exact same all green parts lol for mine
Seriously, how is it that the same exact person has donated the part on every video over watched of yours no matter the vehicle?
dude thanks there was some cussing involved,
She is RPM'd out. Darn tape.
outtakes llol
me before outtakes: I liek rpmz :>
after: ROFL
Someone I have on GEM
Everyone keeps telling me that that transmission flexes alot and messes gears up.
I have read the same thing on forums.
you should use BLACK grease instead of WHITE grease!!!! WHY??? the white grease is for PLASTIC gears, NOT METAL gears, black grease is for METAL!!!!!!

Really? I didnt know that, but thanks for the advice and your dedication to RC! =)
