Vjay seems like such a cool dude. Quiet, clean (that uniform was crisp), experienced. He looks like the type of guy who brings a metal lunch pal with the same sandwich in it to the shop for like 55 years then retires.
Watching VJ zero the runout on that 4 jaw was satisfying as hell. Thought I was watching CEE for a minute! The impressive part was him eyeballing those cuts down to half a thou. I've never used a DRO in my life and I know how much intimacy it takes with your work and machine to achieve that.
There is always something to learn watching your channel. But this was the best. It was hugely fascinating and watching how the work was done was excellent. Great work.
Thanks for taking us along to see another of Australia's excellent shops- lots to be learned there, for all- even a few You Tube experts! Still have lots of reserve popcorn, so let the Cresta fly when ever the occasion arises! VJ looks to be the man for this- great shop, wonderful set up and lots of hands "doing it well".
I found this to be absolutely fascinating stuff. I’m just curious about the cost, in comparison to buying a new turbo and swapping out the whole thing out vs getting it high-flowed. I totally see the benefits of getting it done, especially with it bolting straight back up, as it came directly from the vehicle. So there’s no messing around with reassembly but I can also see that every application is different. I guess it depends on how far someone is willing to go and what their end goals are. Interesting to think about…
That's all very good work, but its only being low speed balanced and really should be balanced as a unit to high speed around 100,000 - 150,000 RPM. The turbo equipment there is perfect for heavy industry turbos, but not ideal for passenger car high speed turbos. Good work though, nice video (y)
Now that’s a first class machinist
VJ knows his stuff
It's a pleasure watching extreme competence in action. Bravo, VJ!

What a king. Vj is turning goals into reality day to day, what a satisfying career.
The "Chekhov's Gun" principle dictates that you can't just introduce The Cage of Death in Act 1 then have no cage-based deathly mayhem in Act 3.

It’s awesome to see a craftsman work
Really interesting chaps, thanks to MTQ for letting us see the process and especially the mad skills.
The soundtrack is huge 👌

Plus the editing on beat was stupendous!

There is something about a master doing his work. Satisfying.
VJ is a boss. Nice one
Good to hear South African accent on your Channel Ben
Just ordered a s366 for my barra project so was really in the mood for some BCW barra turbo content 👌.
Great insight into the world of high flow! Good luck with the 7.
Great episode, rare that we can see such an experst shop and crew at work, man that big balancer was extreme.

Thanks for showing that process. I hope you get closer to your 7 now 👍😎
So interesting, VeeJay is the man when it comes to turbos, you can tell he likes Bennys cute little turbo
Good job Benny Fixing the Toyota Cresta Turbo it will be amazing Well Done 👏👏👏👏
That was awesome. Watching a top notch machinist .
Would be great to see what some basic aero can do to improve top end performance. Undertray and rear wing could cut drag and improve stability.

Also Benny - "I wonder..."
Nice work fellas. Tunes were #chefskiss
thanks
promises promises of the 7 second pass benny!
I dunno about anyone else but i forgot to take my ecstasy before watching Disco bens mechanical
Always wondered why the cost of the highflowing, but having seen the work involved, can see why it's justified.
Benny eyeing up the huge Marine Diesel Turbo .. lol
Most likely have to compensate within the tune and keep a eye on back pressures
In on juan.
What a fantastic machinist VJ is but someone get him a CNC lathe to make his job easier
put that big ass marine turbo on the cresta ,benny is thinking about bonnet clearance lol
I recon if you walked in with biltong, you be drivng out with that marine turbo.
Would hooking up an ice box to the intake manifold (like the Americans do) help?
The SA bloke sounds like a sales man but that dood machining wow just wow
Paulie is a legend, he’s the guy responsible for us working together with Baxter’s MTQ

We are all waiting for a video doing passes.
That hand shake 😅

I wonder did Marty and Moog gift this car to Benny when they did the build? Or is this Bennys from the beginning.
@@411nightnheaven I purchased the vehicle after the initial build. There was no ‘gifting’ .
You didn't prime the turbo with oil first. Aren't you supposed to crank it until oil comes out the drain?
It would have had assembly oil in it and only run for a couple of seconds 'dry' before oil got to it.
What’s a ruff cost to have this done cheers 🍻
Best to contact Baxter’s MTQ directly for pricing as it varies for every turbo
Lucky 7
I care
743 times.... Hinting at a 7:43 1/4 mile???
743rd time be the last 🙂
This was very interesting unlike the time you changed the fluids in the st00pid Pajero... :P
Can’t make magic every week.
