Benny's Custom Works brings you everything automotive!
Weekly Episodes right here on RUclips, as well as the shop with new & used performance parts for most Japanese makes and models.
Benny makes this stuff look like a walk in the park. Please consider the risk factors and talk to a qualified mechanic, as well as a psychologist, if you’re thinking of attempting anything you’ve seen on the show.
Take into consideration your safety, the safety of others, as well as your vehicle’s best interests- warranty, etc.
Unless you’re trained & qualified to do so, we don’t recommend modifying your vehicle in any way. Stickers don’t add HP unless installed correctly.
I am enjoying the interaction between you two in the video's lately over just Benny talking to the camera.
I very much enjoyed it too. It makes it feel like he is talking to us not at us because quite often geane (sorry for poor spelling) will ask a question that I will have
That conversation between Benny and his cameraman while he was installing the diff center and pitting everything back together was really great.
Good cameraman banter is something I appreciate. There are a few other channels I watch and that thought occurred to me in the last month.
absolutely mate! one that springs to mind is Alec Steele and Jamie (cameraman) just a good pair of mates who clearly get along well, but also love slagging off when a silly mistake is filmed, and having a laugh about it :) :D
Can we take a moment to appreciate the noise the ladder bars made when they pulled out. FFOOOOONNNNGGG absolutely fantastic.
Im man enough to admit i laughed at the fish in a tank joke 😂
Aaah finaly a bracket it really hit the spot😄
Hey Benny, just an idea for the toolbox. Instead of bolting it down, make it swivel. Castors and a vertical hinge. Easier access from the side of the table.
Ben Wood "Woody" gave me a bonsai tree in a subaru piston in 2019. My mother killed it when we went to Dragweek in 2019!
Too much water?
@@BennysCustomWorks Not enough love
@@BennysCustomWorks I don't think it enjoyed the move from tropical Queensland to Country Victoria. It was a japanese fig I believe & was not long propagated.
i was waiting for the "fight me in the comments" when changing one rotor. these videos show me im not the only crazy one in the world haha
It’s not technically correct but $500 ea….. The left rotor still has the factory machining marks though
The clamping force of a finer threaded fastener at the same torque setting as a coarser threaded fastener of the same diameter is due to the inclined plane of the thread being a smaller angle, increasing the "leverage" of the inclined plane.
I've been using a super thin smear of grease on paper gaskets since I learned it from the motorcycle shop I wrenched at 30 years ago. Great for side covers and the things that you'd want the gasket to release nicely and even re-use the gasket.
Ripper video! Love the banter
Gotta love the BCW multi purpose welding/fixing table/paint booth
LMAO RUclips ad being an eveready battery ad during this episode
16:55 I read this on the internet somewhere so take it for that, but B batteries were once a thing, they just didn't reqlly get used in much of anything so they kind of fell by the way side
Best banter in a shed - every episode - love to see and hear it!
G'Day,young Benny, mate the gasket grease is an old treatment, mostly used with cerial packs when used for gasket material,(Older thermastat housings,,before the advent of silcon)
The elusive b battery exists. As an american im offended. please continue. :)
Thank you for answering the auto is good or not question .
god damnit, that comment about the two forks I FELT that...
In Virginia where we have soft shell blue crabs we prepare them by "cutting the face off" which removed the gills and innards. Not sure why you would fry a crab with out cleaning it.
Benny's reaction to zoomer speak was the same as mine when I first heard it.
Good job Benny Fixing the Toyota Cresta it will be amazing For Race Well Done 👏👏👏👏👏
Good banter boys
It IS an American thing and the IEC said "fuck that" and changed to a different MUCH better system for other types of batteries like coin cells (CR1620, CR2032) and rechargeable Li-Ion cells (14500, 18650, 26650) which was measuring their size in metric (a CR2032 coin cell is 20mm in diameter and 3.2mm thick, and the 18650 cells in your cordless drill battery pack are 1.8cm in diameter and 6.5cm long)
According to Google the B battery was around when radios used valves and the electricity grid wasn't great, with improvements in electricity supply and more efficient radios the B batteries were made obsolete
25:18 I live in the northern hemisphere where it hits -20F (or ~-30C for the imaginary unit people) quite regularly in our winters. That said, until it hits 30F I'm in shorts and a tshirt. Only when it gets to that -20F do I do the thermals. I used to be the opposite in my early twenties... so enjoy that while you can dude because your body temps will flip hard when you hit the midlife age.
The threaded knobs are at Bunnings
Benny’s Bonsai Works as a 2nd channel? 😂
You probably saw the grease-on-gasket trick from Michael Sabo. He rebuilds quads and dirt bikes on his RUclips channel.
Had to look that up but seems there is a B battery. 4.5 volt. 21.5 × 60.
Never ever seen one though.
I love a good crab chowder 👍😎
just start calling AA batteries 14500's.
Other batteries are already using that system.
14mm x 500mm are their measurements.
Also you are right, AA was a designated size by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
500mm is a loooooong battery 😀
@@timsminigarageit’s almost a projectile at that length
Show us your 500mm long AA HAHAHA 50mm maybe?
14500 is only for rechargeable types, with a voltage of 3.7v. Similar dimensions to a AA, but completely different battery.
The IEC refer to a AA cell as an LR6. Use that.
Is it worth witness marking everything before you had it aligned? Would you be better off doing this after it was done so you would know if anything had changed from your base setting?
28:30 - Is that just casual hand washing with brake cleaner?? :-) LOL
Like before viewing 👌
😂 I live an hour out of Perth WA, this town gets very cold for skinny people like me. I wear thermals this time of year too.
Bonsai’s and cars , Woody from the skid factory
Have you considered a Lube Locker reusable gasket? Although having a second paper gasket in the trailer is a no-brainer and easy enough.
I haven’t heard of them tbh
@@BennysCustomWorks I forget how often stuff doesn't cross over between worlds in terms of on vs off road, and how different things are in your part of the world - they were making the rounds in the off-road world in North America years ago since it's an environment where a broken shaft and having to fish chunks out of the diff is a relatively common occurrence.
Flip side is, I see neat stuff on your (and other channels) that I can't easily find in Canada.
there are "B" cell batteries. 21.5 mm x 60 mm producing 1.5 volts and 8350 mAh and are still made.
Benny! What’s the yellow car?
I know you say never a 6 - but what page up level for a 6.99 at cresta weight are we talking? 2000 horses? 2500? de stroke-huge turbo-no seats, no glass / ruined car territory?
The small differences between how an aussie and an American do things is quite interesting to watch. Still gonna do it the american way. Lol
Drown it in orange sealant?
@@BennysCustomWorks nah, grey sealant
Where did you get the oil siphon?
Ive been looking for one forever!
Benny's got that skibidi rizz no cap.
Wire gauge or french gauge
Can you not machine the damaged out of the casing and bush it back to the correct size for the bearing. I’ve done it 100s of times for machine bearings
It’s possible but not recommended at our power level as the case is quite thin there anyway.
i would be happy doing that on a street car .. not sure a bush would take the stress induced by racing
lol , in fact exactly what Benny said
That joke about the two hunters was by Spike Milligan - so it's British.
Who would call it a AA battery? that's an odd name I'd have called it a chazzwazzer
Mr Miyagi liked bonsai trees and cars . Does a fictional movie character count?
What should you do if a bird poops on your car?
Not ask her on a second date.
Our (murika) Subway sandwiches are good? o.0
They’re better than Aus but firehouse is king imo
your cameraman can't tell a joke either.
Obligatory comment after starting the video for algorithm purposes
Spicey
Best joke ever? Do you like fish sticks?
NEVER buy drilled discs, they always crack and don't really provide any benefit
Gian using _like_ as punctuation... Pretending to be like the cool kids 😐
