Five months after applying Lanoguard on the underneath of my Landcruiser the garage sent me a video of the underneath as part of its major service. The application was still well in place, with no visible rust and all the water from their powerhose beading off. This was following the removal of a lot of rust surface rust (including some flaking) from the thick frame of the car, so I am hoping that yearly or six monthly top ups will make the car last much longer than compared to the state of rust it was in before the application. Protection from a winter of Scottish road salt will have been worth it at the very least. Oh and lastly, the garage said they couldn't see any issues due to the lanoguard, which will be encouraging when it goes for its MOT just in case it is a sticky beak at the MOT!
Lol, in Portugal we have garages who especialize in this kind of work for years with a deep under chassis clean and then a coat of protection. Many people choose to get their cars done every year.
Hi, Prior to application all you need to do is jet wash to remove and dirt and grime, remove any flaking/loose rust, paint, or underseal but surface rust is fine. Before applying ensure the vehicle is dry. Please see our How to Apply Lanoguard page on our website. Here you will find a step-by-step guide to prep and application of Lanoguard, with video demonstrations and some tips too - www.lanoguard.co.uk/pages/how-to-apply If you have any further questions or would like any more information, please do contact us
Used to apply black stuff to the bottom of vehicles for a living, we started to do more of this, only downside was with the black stuff it was obvious if we missed a bit, but this stuff looks nicer afterward but only if there were no large amounts of rust before hand. Both good and have their relevant applications
Lanoguard will darken areas of surface rust and reduce its vibrancy. The idea of Lanoguard is that you can inspect the surface and see Lanoguard doing its job and not cover up rust. Thanks for your comment
Hi, Lanoguard is great a protecting and preventing rust forming or stopping any rust developing further. I hope this helps if you need anything else please don't hesitate to contact us you can email us at info@lanoguard.co.uk or give us a call on 0330 100 1959 thanks
Hi, I’m so sorry to hear you have experienced an issue with your trigger sprayer and completely understand first-hand how frustrating it is when they fail. Sometimes warming the Lanoguard up can help as it is thixotropic and if it has been sitting around for a while, we suggest giving it a shake before use. Usually, the blockage is caused by small amounts of fibres passing through the sprayer. I would like to help resolve this quickly for you here is a video showing where some of the common blockages take place - ruclips.net/video/KB_7eXHnDiU/видео.html Customer experience is really important to us so please do contact us at info@lanoguard.co.uk or call us on 0330 100 1959 if this doesn’t resolve your issue. Thanks
Hi, I would suggest having a search in your local area for anywhere that rents ramps or ramp space? We are near Brighton and I know there are a couple of places around us that offer this so this is one idea. Another idea would be to see if any friends have any ramps you could borrow? You could purchase your own as Lanoguard is a yearly application you would get use from them again. We do also have application centres that apply Lanoguard for you, here is a link to our application centre map - www.lanoguard.co.uk/pages/application-centres I hope this is helpful, Jen
Hi, Lanoguard has been designed to be topped up yearly and can be applied coat on coat, which makes re application very easy. The new coat affords more protection than just an initial first coat, so you are building up deeper protection. Topping up ensures the effectiveness of Lanoguard. Ultimately, it is ultraviolet exposure that will break the surface of Lanoguard down and weaken Lanoguard ‘s ability to maintain all its technical features and properties, such as self-healing non-cracking, acid and alkaline and petro resistance, waterproof properties and all the other features which makes Lanoguard effective. All this said Lanoguard will go on to protect but for how long and what properties remain intact we could not really quantify or state. Therefore, we suggest topping up each year. Hope this helps explain why we recommend topping up yearly
I would love to find a car wash that does the underside of my car. I read that in America's rust belt, some States have their emergency service and 'council' vehicles cleaned below at least once a week. Ryobi sell a tool which rolls under a vehicle and washes with the correct pressure if anybody is interested.
Hi, One of the Members of our Facebook User Group used a patio clean upside down to clean the underneath of his vehicle - here is a link to the video - facebook.com/100079948924819/videos/1306300130184900/ I hope this is useful also here is a link to our Facebook User Group if you are interested - facebook.com/groups/lanoguardusers

Hi, yes we actually have a Motorbike Range, please follow this link to find out more - www.lanoguard.co.uk/collections/motorbike-range please do let us know if you need anything else
Hi, it offers many features and properties that differ from other rust proofing products. It is best described really by the main features of the product... It's jet wash resistant, non-evaporative to 450 degrees, can be applied to surface rust and it is non perishing. These four features (four of a whole list more) mean that the product stays in place and adheres very well, isn't flammable (can be used on engine bays, exhausts etc no problem) and can be used on rubbers and plastics without the need for masking up etc. A little Lanoguard also goes a long way compared to some competitor products, vehicles such as a Land Rover or Pick Up would only use about 1.5L 1.8L. Our application methods are designed to get maximum coverage with little product and cause minimal mess. These all lead to the main selling points of Lanoguard - it's low prep (it can be sprayed directly over surface rust without the need for a thoroughly prepared or "keyed" surface). Application can take as little as 30 minutes. It’s far less messy... requires minimal clean-up after and is better for the environment. This is just a few comparisons, there are many more. Lanoguard has been specifically designed to seep and remain "active" under the vehicle, for example. We've written an article here talking about how Lanoguard compares to conventional methods, if interested do give it a read Hope this is helps, please do let us know if you would like any more information or have any further questions, we are here to help! www.lanoguard.co.uk/blogs/news/comparing-lanoguard-to-conventional-rust-prevention-products
The Lanoguard adverts shown are totally misleading, yes lanoguard will probably help protect a vehicle from rusting if it is applied to clean surfaces, it is a waste of time and money using it like they show in their adverts and making it look easy, one advert shows a guy bending down and spraying under the wheel arch of a car and saying it's a peace of cake doing this he obviously has no idea. The big problem is getting every square mm of the vehicle under body clean before you start to spray it with Lanoguard, and don't be fooled when the say this can be done by jet washing, a jet wash will only clean what it is aimed at, the only way to clean every part is by dismantling the car. this is what they do not show in their adverts and is misleading.
H John, When preparing a car prior to Lanoguarding we do recommending cleaning it with a jet wash to remove and dirt and grime as well as removing any loose/flaking rust or previous coatings. Lanoguard is absolutely happy to be applied over sound and stable surface rust, as well as over previous underseal coatings or treatment. Lanoguard won’t convert existing rust per se, instead it will arrest and completely stop its further development. This is due to Lanoguard natural attraction to ferrous metal. It will seep and creep underneath surface rust and create a hermetic seal to the metal below, stopping oxygen and water getting in. Please have a look at our user group which has over 18,000+ members who have tried and tested Lanoguard over the past few years and are always happy to share their experiences and answer any questions. There have also been many discussion about jet washing prior to apply between members which you may find of interest., - facebook.com/groups/lanoguardusers I hope you find this of interest,

Great to hear your pleased with your Lanoguard treatment and really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. 😊

What was the black stuff?
@@shujabeg7625I'm guessing underseal. Which I used for years, but never again, once I've tried lanolin. 👍
Should this be used as a preventative measure or only when rust starts to appear?

Wish I’d had this in the 1980s
Good stuff but the sprayer that comes with it didn't even last a third of 5litre bottle

Dose it contain wool grease from sheep as the name suggests?
Hi, Yes, It’s formed from a high-quality lanolin base unique to us and the formulas are non-harmful and safe to apply.
I need to raise the vehicle before application as I cannot reach underneath, any suggestion?

I hve a vwt3. There's no deep rust, just the light powdery stuff one usually sees. Would I need to wire brush this off first?
