    Is there anything I shouldn’t spray with Lanoguard? Obviously the brakes are a no go but is there anything else to avoid? I’m a bit worried about damaging rubber boots, bushings, brake lines, plastic fuel tanks and suspension parts as some other products tell you to avoid those areas.

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад +4

      Hi, Lanoguard is safe to use on rubbers, plastics, metals, electrics, and circuit boards without any issue. It is jet-wash resistant up to 3000 psi, non-perishing, non-conductive up to 70,000 volts, non-flammable and heat resistant up to 450 degrees. Therefore, you can spray the complete underbody of your vehicle even the exhaust the only areas to avoid are the brake discs and pad and if going in the engine bay the fan belt. They do not need to be masked up some people choose to cover them or use a piece of cardboard to shield the areas when spraying near. I hope this answers your question.

    Hi there, I treated my vehicle with Lanoguard about 6 weeks ago and also sprayed the exhaust. For a good couple of weeks I expected and had a burning smell once the exhaust was hot. By and large the smell has gone but sometimes I can still smell whatbI believe is the lanoguard remaining on the exhaust. Is this normal? I do not think it is anything else as I never had the smell prior to applying the Lanoguard. Thankyou.

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад

      Please take reassurance that all is ok with your exhaust and the smell is it just burning off any excess this should settle soon after a few more drives. Lanoguard is non-flammable so will not cause any harm. A good few long drive will help, so that exhaust builds up enough heat to burn off any excess, it will last longer if a thick coat was applied and there is a lot of excess that needs to burn off. If you are still concerned please do contact us via email at info@lanoguard.co.uk and we will do all we can to help deal with this. I hope you find this useful.

    If it needs doing every year, then surely old engine oil/ diesel 50/50 mix will do the job, such as used by the military?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, The yearly application after initial application is a top up, as Lanoguard can be applied coat on old coat it makes topping up easy. The new coat affords deeper protection and ensures the effectiveness of Lanoguard's unique technical features and properties. The environment your underbody is exposed to is very harsh with lots of water, stones, gravel, salt and the likes being thrown at it and attacking it. So, a regular check of your underbody is a good approach. All this said Lanoguard will go on to protect but for how long and what properties remain intact we could not really quantify or state. Therefore we suggest topping up yearly. Hope this is helpful,

    Do I need to take off the front skid plate on my landrover discovery 4 or is that a bad idea also shall I leave my spare wheel on, I looked at your video regarding that nice discovery 4 that you lanoguarded and I'm sure you did not take off the skid plate or the spare wheel. Thanks

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад

      Hi, It is personal preference whether to remove the skid plates or not in some cases it can allow better access to areas of the chassis. Again removing the spare wheel is personal preference, again removing it can allow access to areas that may need protecting. Please do have a look on our Facebook User Group, it has over 12,500 members who regularly discuss and post photos and comments about their Lanoguard experiences and are always happy to help and answers any questions, please use this link to view the group - facebook.com/groups/lanoguardusers I hope you find this useful

    Do i need to remove the lanoguard if it has a layer of dust over it before applying a topup coat, also putting it in the chassis rails do i need to blow them out with compressed air first, and what about subsequent dust build up in the chassis rails after applying the lanoguard

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  9 месяцев назад

      Hi, Prior to topping up we suggest jet washing the area. Lanoguard jet wash resistant 3000psi therefore you can jet wash the dirt and road grit off, but the Lanoguard will stay in place also any you have any stubborn dirt etc you can use a soft brush - like a dustpan and brush to help remove it. When it comes to injecting into the chassis rails any prep such as blowing them with compressed air first to help remove any build up is a good idea. When it comes to topping up the chassis rails if you can jet wash to remove any dust etc and leave to dry that would be beneficial. Lanoguard as it cures will displace water, however we do not recommend applying to wet areas but slightly damp is ok. Lanoguard is a natural product which is broken down by exposure to ultraviolet light and oxygen within the air, therefore the Lanoguard will last longer in chassis rails etc as their is less exposure. I hope this is helpful,

    Have you any outlets that might do this undersealing job professionally for the customer , if not might be a good opening for a good business investment , I personally would pay to get this job done instead of clambering underneath the vehicle on ramps and car Jack's.

    My Meriva A 2007 has mild undercarriage corrosion, it's past its MOT so it's not dangerous, but will Lanoguard be of any use to stop the corrosion getting any worse?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад +1

      Hi, yes Lanoguard would be great and yes with prevent further rust developing. Lanoguard is very good for chassis with surface rust and can be happily applied over surface rust. Lanoguard has a natural affinity to ferrous metals so it will creep and seep below the surface rust and bond to the metal underneath. It will also prevent the rust from furthering due to the fact it hermetically seals the surface so no oxygen or water can get in. Hence no more rusting process can take place. It will in time push off the oxidation too due to the products affinity to the metal. Which is a nice aesthetics side benefit. You need of course to remove any flaking or unstable rust, prior to applying but surface rust is fine. Lanoguard cures translucent so you can inspect the surface and see Lanoguard doing its job, i hope this helps and please do contact us if you have any questions

    Is it safe to add graphite Powder to lanoguard to make it Dark Grey, Or will this interfere with the products rust preventing properties?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад

      Hi, We suggest not adding anything to the Lanoguard, as we know our product works for underbodies how it is. Being transparent it allows you to clearly see that rust isn't forming on the surface and that Lanoguard is doing its job. Lanoguard should always be the last product applied and can be applied over paint providing the paint is fully cured to its finally state, which may be an option for you if you want the underbody to look dark grey. This has been discussed by many of our users on our Facebook User Group - you may find it helpful to have a look through it - facebook.com/groups/lanoguardusers i hope this answers your question and useful

    Would there be a problem in treating the rust with phosphoric acid first and then spraying that (when dry) with Lanoguard?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад

      Hi, No. No problem with that. Phosphoric acid is often found as the ingredient in rust convertors too of course. Just ensure it’s dried and rinse washed off then dried prior to applying the Lanoguard. Hope this helps

    Is it best to cover brake discs / calipers before spraying?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад +1

      Hi, there is no need to mask up the brake discs and pads do should to be avoided, but when spraying near them covering them up is a good idea. Some of our customers have used a bit of cardboard to cover them when spraying around the areas to avoid any overspray. I hope this helps

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard  Год назад +1

      Hi Louie, you are correct, if needed the way to remove Lanoguard is with either a meths cleaner or strong citrus cleaner, plus a thorough scrub! We offer Lanoguard remover, which can be used either to freshly applied Lanoguard or long time cured Lanoguard. It can be used to remove any overspray, clean brushes and or spray guns - just rinse through with warm water afterwards.
