Dan seems like he was a really chill person. He definitely is missed.
The little pussy that was crying about a little push from a woman, but would have had another reaction to a man. Hahahaha
RIP Dan Wheldon
You will be remembered
We honor his memory every year at St. Pete in March.
Rip Dan
The dead don't read YT comments, genius.
Danica was above average in Indy, now in Nascar, that is something i wanna forget forever
I think you speak for all NASCAR fans with that statement.....
Not really, she did meh in great equipment
she’s a great driver, no doubt, however she was consistently slower than any of her teammates throughout her nascar and indycar careers
I wholeheartedly agree. She was a great short oval and Indy driver. I remember this, it was entertaining. I remember Danica coming out of the driver meeting after Wheldons crash. It was when i saw her break down crying that i knew. RIP DW
@@EL1TESHARK FALSE. Indy Cars series, she led 124 laps, and she was on the podium 7 times which included one win. Also, top 10's 63 times. NASCAR, she led 133 laps, top 10 17 times and she won the 2013 Daytona 500 pole at 196.43 mph, led a few laps, in the top 5 until the last three laps and she finished 8th. She became the most successful female race car driver in auto racing history for a reason, PUTZ. For damn sure better than you could ever do.
Man I wish Dan Wheldon was still around, at least the current IndyCar chassis carries his name, shame he never got to drive one, IndyCar has been so much better since that chassis was introduced, thank you Dan for your contributions testing it throughout 2011.
I miss Dan Wheldon and Greg Moore
2 drivers gone too soon and Moore would've gone to penske the next season
Danica's average IndyCar finish was top 10 maybe even top 7. Few drivers can say that. She didn't have tons of wins, but she finished races and finished in the top 10 more often than not.
She had 1 win.
@@sweetybnz7482 your statement does not take away from mine, thanks.
@@jameskidd4767 No and not my intent. Just clarifying she had 1 win not wins in indycar. Still one more than the majority of drivers.
She was in the best team in a weak series most of her career
@@sweetybnz7482 7 times on the podium No other female driver EVER did that in the Indy cars series either. Only female driver to ever lead the Daytona 500 and an Indy 500.
“I was inside you Dan, why did you come down on me” 😳
WAS THE ONLY BIT I HEARD😂😂😂
lol🤣🤣
Been funnier if she said, “Why did go down on me?”
@@ethanweeter2732 nope. weak
I used to race with Dan wheldon….was a fantastic driver and great human
Danica in nascar: disaster
Danica in indy: was not bad. Could have gone better
No matter what your opinion is of Danica as a driver. She brought a lot of exposure to Indy Car racing when it really needed it.
None of those people stayed. Indycar is flying now due to good racing
@@bengaliinplatforms1268 not to mention a lot of f1 fans are watching indycar now because f1 is so boring with one team having the unbeatable cars. indycar is great now, i completely agree
After watching that save I have serious questions about how she was never able to adapt to a stock car.
I always thought it was funny that they said she was bringing more exposure to NASCAR, when during her tenure attendance was actually declining and ratings were falling. Not blaming her, just thought it was funny they said she was bringing in fans when everything was noticeably actually declining.
And of all of her critics not one could handle a race car.
Rest In Peace Dan
The mid Ohio with Milka Duno was priceless!
No doubt about it! I still have to go back every once in awhile and watch that tantrum. I blew the chance to talk with Milka at Sears Point one year when she was running a GTP car and no one knew who she was back then.
@@peanutsmcgonnagle2458 That's a good story, thanks
@@peanutsmcgonnagle2458 damn. You should've talked to her
@@peanutsmcgonnagle2458 I had the great pleasure of knowing Milka for a few years. We would go to different sections of a track and watch and discuss plans of attack. Milka was very sharp .and a quick study.

RIP Dan Wheldon
danica cops a lot of flak mainly from her nascar career that was not very impressive . but open wheel ovals she was legit . she wasn't the best racer of her era or anything and got more attention than her skill level , but that wasn't her fault she was unique as fast female racer and the media was interested her. she won a race, she would have had more if she stayed in open wheel , bagged podiums and points . she was a solid top 10 on her day and in her element and thats better than the majority of the average racers that come and go from indycar .
Give her a month of practice and I'm pretty sure she would be better than 7 time JJ.
@@bigelile07 in indy cars sure, but jj always struggled in indy cars.
@@jerryeinstandig7996
That's my point. She never struggled in an IndyCar but a seven-time NASCAR champion did. Kurt Busch having never driven an IndyCar finished sixth in the Indy 500.
@@bigelile07 Huh? She won a single freaking race . So if she wasn't struggling, she wasn't winning.
Yeah well Weldon won two Indy 500s and probably would have won more if he didn’t die. She was consistent top ten runner in a weak series. She was fun to look at
In average finishes she was #10 in 2008, 2nd best US driver after Jimmy Vasser (#8: 10.0):

Graham rahal is trash. Says everything about the state of US open wheel and gt for that matter along with the other boomer veterans mentioned
@@eac1235but people love to talk shit about her driving when she’s a genuinely talented driver. Not saying she’s great compared to her competition, but she’s light years ahead of all the chumps at home without an inkling of an idea of the difficulty of driving at the highest level of competition under the highest pressure. Not to mention the sexism she faced as the final clip showed: guys judging her on her appearance instead of talking about her driving.

who wouldn't want to go down on Danica
😑
😂💀
I’d volunteer.
Danica is the only driver I ever wanted to bump draft.
LOVED that track...
RIP Wheldon
A family friend was a Indy car engineer for many years. He told me if Danica had stayed in Indy cars she would have definitely been a champion, in his opinion.
Was he under the influence of something when he said that? Lol
Nice
There were many that had great experience that said that. She was that good.
It's a shame someone like Dan Weldon was taken from this earth and the way he was I hope that regardless of what people think of Danica as an Indy car or a NASCAR that she doesn't somehow feel the loss much differently after her confrontation with Dan with Dan no driver wants to see a racing incident finishing in the finality of death every driver faces at every time they climb in the seat and strap in behind the wheel it's a dangerous sport it takes a unique type of person what scale and a mental aptitude to be able to do racing of any form in an automobile rest in peace Dan Weldon.
Perhaps Danica later shed at least one tear when she heard Wheldon had a fatal wreck in Vegas? I know I would, we all miss Dan.
Probably because it ruined her going away party.
Yes, she did.
What a comment is that? She was there Racing with DW, that very same day...
She infact later drove with a Tribute Helmet to him :)
She was at the track when he died, she was even interviewed I believe just after it was announced he passed away. She definitely seemed like she was holding back tears

RIP DAN W... Great memories watching you Outstanding Driver
“Cuz I’m a lot tougher on track than she is” words to die by.
👀
man how is so flipping chill
Danica was great in Indy, she probably would've had a better career had she stayed in Indy but it is understandable why she left
She learnt. I saw her get punted off by one of the boys in a formula Renault race at Brands Hatch about 2003ish. She got out all red faced and stormed back to the pits lol. No doubt no one liked being beaten by a girl!
"Did you even consider, even for a moment, even for a moment after she pushed you, popping her one time"
Lmao
this is just one of about a million reasons why they need to bring this track back!
suggestion: make the tickets 20-30 bucks and promote the shit out of it at the milwaukee colleges and you will fill this place.
Super excited I get to go back in 2024, hope to see you there.
Man I miss Dan
I think it was really just a racing move. It was and wasn’t Wheldons fault you can say.
I don't watch indy but that looked like a squeeze to me. Is that legal?

Yes it is......
Dan was a true man...no violence against ladies and he knew Danica was just blowing off some stream.
A river stream
"had he just listened it wouldn't have looked as bad"...lol yeah Danica pass the blame smh. Then she came to NASCAR and pulled the same bs
i like how dan wheldon was making fun of the situation while danica patrick was probably fuming for weeks
I'd been crash into side of the garage thru the box during race every stop! 🤣
You came down on her plain and simple Danny RIP.
He was over half at fault with that move and he just wouldn't admit it.
She was always after the pole…..
And now she sells “car insurance.” 😂😂😂
Say what you want about Danica Patrick, but she held her own with some incredible racers. I doubt that many of you criticizing could've come close. Don't forget that she would've won that race in Japan if she hadn't made that 1 pit stop Michael Andretti told her to make.
She did win Japan! what r u talking about?
@@billythekid3234 Oh yeah… you're right! She also came close to winning another one but because of Michael's call on the pitstop she didn't . Thanks for correcting me!
She had no right to put hands on anyone. Dan had every right to push her onto her butt for grabbing and pushing him. She did abuse her femininity and his chivalry! She’s lucky he was a gentleman.
@@pommiebears I agree with you about that
5:42 Dario with the jab LOL
Danica foi a melhor mulher em todos os circuitos.
Wheldon coming with the Sean Connery vibes… Lol

Hermosa Danica
I will forever respect Dan for the simple honest words "she's acting like a spoiled brat".
she is a spoiled brat!
“I’m a lot more feisty on the track that her.”
Those words would come back to bite him in the worst way.
And yet, Dan was a way better racer and driver, than Danica ever dreamt to be.
Robin Miller is missed by IndyCar. RIP
Danika is a fighter..."you have a right to fight whats right"...as I say.
8:00 O&A!
Wel Don well done checks and balances to come
Rip Dan Wheldon tho
I ❤❤ Danica
Danica in Indy is in that tier below the best drivers - the "solid, but unspectacular" tier. Plenty of drivers have had long careers in that tier - Bryan Herta, James Hinchcliffe, Scott Sharp, Robby Gordon, Vitor Meria, Scott Pruett...those type of guys would be in the same tier as Danica. Capable of winning when things break their way, pretty consistent in getting respectable results, but never one of the favorites for wins in a weekend, let alone across a season for a title.
If those types of racers don't deserve seats, then the series would have like...5 cars each season.
Dan's death later hit Danika hard......
Question for seasoned Indycar fans, whose fault was it? Or was it a racing accident/incident?
European motorsport fan here.
It was his dam fault drivers from Europe have always think they are the best drivers but the wont even last 2 laps in at a local track if you think about she did better in indy car then he did
It was a racing incident.
Weldon came down abruptly.
In a way, everyone's got responsibility.
If you want to say it was 3-wide, then Dario should've backed out.
But it appears he did.
But I don't think Danica knew he'd backed out.
So she stayed in a middle lane. Meanwhile, Wheldon either knew Dario had backed out, or more likely just wasn't aware he was looking inside Danica to begin with. Wheldon leaves a car width of space, for Danica, but Danica is expecting a need for two car widths.
It's probably not worth trying to assign blame on it
@@stevetucker5532 Nice trolling ;)
RIP Dan Weldon.. he was somewhat comical in his the interviews. Oh how things and woman’s rights have changed in the decades. Now of days he’d be in trouble
No he wouldn’t
The funny thing is danica was never THAT bad... most of the time some guy got jealous she was doing well and hit her... (now I agree she did drive pretty awful sometimes... but not all her wrecks were he fault)
She was OK in IndyCar, she should have stayed there, I get it NASCAR pays more but having a reputation as a decent IndyCar driver would have been better, as good as she was at Indy she might have actually won it, and she probably would have been good at Pocono too, that being said please keep her out of the booth at NASCAR races she sucked.
Imagine in another universe where the fame doesn’t go to Danica’s head and she stays in Indy and perhaps has a decent career
RIP DW😢
I can only imagine Dan plowed Danica back in the day and now she's mad he blew it off on her. RIP legend
I suspect both had secret crush for one another.
She wanted to be a celebrity more than a driver. She succeeded. Rahal, Andretti, Stewart all got tired of her act.
rudy montana, BULLSH*T.
DANICA : lo odiabas pero cuando se murio igual lloraste por el .
Listening to her complain reminds me of Robert Duvall’s famous line, “Rubbin’ son is racing’”
Go Danica!

Danica should have stayed in open wheel
Danica had BAD manager. She had to moving on from Indy to F1 at Ecclestones era. The worst option was Nascar.
I doubt she would've had success in F1. Those F1 cars are much less forgiving than Indycars plus coupled with the fact that F1 drivers are the very best in the world.

Danica Patrick was a corporate marketing schill, not a champion racer. Check her record of all the series she raced in yourself. She was leading the Indy 500 when she ran the car out of fuel and blamed everyone but herself.
