    I’ve been a tech for 5 years and still consider myself a beginner. You’re CONSTANTLY learning in this industry.❤

    Raise those full set prices at least another $5 and stop discounting so much. I was a nail tech back in the nineties and I did the same thing and people got mad when I raised prices. Nail products are so expensive so raise them up a little more. Also, don't feel bad about quoting a higher price as your work is good. Don't feel badly about someone's nail breaking as most of the breaks are not your fault. Some people are rough with their hands therefore their nails break easier. The sales are good but offer loyalty cards like a ten dollar discount on their next fills. Maybe even a free gift. Also hold a raffle where everyone that gets a service puts their name into a hat and you draw for that raffle. Let the prize be something like a free manicure tool set or a free polish. I understand the eagerness to get clients but, your work speaks for itself. I hope this helps.

    You can make a booking site but list your number and tell them their allowed to text you for a quote on the price. Love the video but I’ve also seen a lot of nail techs do this ❤️❤️❤️

    I live in Las Vegas and currently work in a salon this is just an example of how my boss charges for nails the (blue set w/butterfly)
    Lenth:$40/$45
    If that’s colored acrylic:$25
    Shape change: $5
    Matte top coat:$5
    Gel/ top coat: $15
    Hand art: $20 for both butterfly’s ( if they were stickers $5)
    which brings this to $95
    With a blue gel base instead of acrylic $85
    With regular polish ( I wouldn’t do this design with regular polish BUT it’s possible polish/paint. And yes people still do get regular polish where I live lol ) $70
    This is just a break down hope this makes sense and helps your work is really good charge your worth up your price but offer a special here and there not all the time because this is your business don’t sell yourself short! I always get nervous when I have to tell them the price but you know what if they want it they will pay and your work speaks for it self “ not every client is your client” so with change they will all come and go.

    • @emmasnailroom
      @emmasnailroom  2 года назад +11

      Yes that’s definitely where I want to be! This was a all acrylic color hand painted and I know it worth more then what I charged lol but I’m not in any rush to up my prices yet I’ll get to where I want to be with time ❤️

    Great video I charge $50 for all blinded, ombré, foil, stickers the fancy nails. Nails with just gel polish no design or bling just plain gel I charge $30. I’m self taught so I charge very little. I feel like under charge but I’m not licensed so $50 & $30 🤷‍♀️ I just love doing nails, I started after Covid did it as a hobby. Maybe one day I will go to school. Your prizes are very reasonable 👍🏻🥰🥰

    Hey Babes !!
    Thank you for taking the time to share your journey. I got a lot of advice and love your transparency. Here to lend some support;
    1.) there are some free booking sites you can start to use. Square is one of them
    2.) when I started taking deposits I would only charge $10 & would only allow you to reschedule twice with that one deposit - TRUST ME - people will not trip about $10
    3.) squeeze in appts / after hour appts you should charge (even if it’s only extra $5) but it adds up and helps so much especially in the event your client doesn’t tip or something
    3.)

    Hi! First of all, you are so pretty! 😍 I am a nail tech aspirant but I can't leave my work right now and I work full time. How did you get licensed and did you go to school for that? I live in NH and I looked around for nail tech school but it's so expensive. 😭 And also, for the full set, does that include soft gel, acrylic and dip or gel tips with dip overlay. Sorry for the amount of questions!

    How do you know exactly how many hours apart to book each client.

    • @emmasnailroom
      @emmasnailroom  2 года назад +4

      At first I was overbooking time just to make sure I wasn’t gonna cut over so I was assuming based on sets I did on myself that it would take me three hours so I would book 3 1/2 hours but as I started to do sets on clients I realized that it was only taking me two hours on average so I started booking my set for two hours and unless the client wanted something and it would take me more time I always add on 30 more minutes for French tip or hand painted line work or anything that I know will take me out of that time. it just a learning curve on how long it takes you to do everything individually. your prep will usually take The same amount of time on each client an your application Will differ based on length and whether or not it’s encapsulation. Nail art also will determine the time

    My darling you are ripping yourself off. Just remember how easily they accept the discount and they should also appreciate your increases. You do amazing work. Charge your worth. Especially for those details in the nail art, wow. Offer discounts if they get you a new client. Free nail art on their next set (within reason of course) or something else that's not going to break you. It's ok to help yourself get to where you want to be 😊

    Blue French set fill
    Lenth $35
    Gel $15
    French $5
    Glitter $5
    Rhinestones $8
    Broken nails $3 each ( longer nails $5 )
    Ombré if that’s acrylic I’d just charge like $5
    Which brings this to $79 which I would just round it up to $80 honestly or you can just say $79 or if you feel really awkward and you think they might not want to pay that then you can just say $75 odds are they will tip you and you still make your money. If not then you still got your money worth in my opinion

      Yeah that’s true once they get big enough and have a full clientele they can definitely choose to only offer the services they want to do but for me I’m not that big and regardless I would still offer fills because it’s is less damage on the client nail than doing a soakoff every time they need a redesign
