Thanks Natalie good information to share with my daughter she's 14 started doing nails last year & within a year & watching ur videos she has leaned alot but she still have ways to go..
hey I’m 14 I started doing nails last year but I quit because I had bad product from amazon but I started again this year and I’ve really gotten better at it I have done my own set on my nails and I’m just starting on other people but I’m having trouble with pricing that’s why I’m here😅 but I support your daughter because I know the struggle as a starter I just wanted to say🙂
Girl you are the only nail tech I appreciate with telling us every little thing in nails. You have a good heart, yo bless an most of all "yo a good gal!!! 🖒🖒🖒
You don’t know how much a blessing you are! I’m starting my nail journey and watching your channel has helped me so much so far!!! Currently waiting on my items to come in so I can start 🙌🏾📦
Like u said u have to research the prices in your area. Young nails is telling us to charge $100 a set plus $5 per each extra product used. That would never work in my area because anyone can go to the mall n get a set for $30. Just look around in your area n see what others are charging. It’s also important to know your cost per service. You have to know how much your spending on products, if u have rent utilities etc. divide your monthly expenses by the amount of clients you served, that number is your cost per service. Make sure your charging more then your spending or what’s the point.
Actually, they say depending on the area, charge a base price and then charge an additional $5 or $10 for each nail art color used. One gel color is included in the set price. Remember, they are in California.
My prices would be just that. My prices. What people actually don’t understand is that they pay for my expertise, time and products. If people in my area charge a certain price, I’m going to charge what I’m going to charge. People always wanna pay the least amount for a service that is overloaded.
Triggered Latina -90’s girl- so true , I have even did a brides nail for free since she said that she couldn’t do the nails cause all her money finish on the wedding preparation but then while walking her out I saw her toes were done and I knew she paid cash for that elsewhere, she promised to pay me once she can but I don’t think I will get my money
This was great, as a new beginner nail tech I was having issue with pricing when people asked what I charged I had no idea what to tell them. My products aren't cheap either. I live in canada I use my teachers brand acrylic system and also the Coscelia polygel builder gel for gel nails. Right now I charge $25 full set due to me still learning this video helped a lot thank you nat !
I absolutely love how you don't hold back with info and prices!! I've been binge watching your videos and have learned a lot!! You're appreciated!! Thank you🙌😊💜
Your so sweet ...your prices are fare , however it's $100 a hr work, you are worth it. No matter what your situation is..YOU ARE CLEAN , BONUS YOU SPEAK ENGLISH. You are a amazing person. F those other people.. Do you.
This was an EXTREMELY Helpful video! I JUST Graduated Here in Florida. And like you, i Will NEVER do another pedi hahaha! But Thank you SO SO much for this video. It Really helped me So much!💜💜💜
I think that all those prices are very right and the policies common and the salons or if the technician works from home. Thank you Natalie for sharing and help with your knowledge. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌸🌸
I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now and They have been soooooo helpful. I just started doing nails and you have helped me, So thank you❤️
Your an Inspiration to a lot of girls & women. I mean I have my own full time job, but I like doing nails. So I'll do them after work or the weekends. And I work from my own home. Thank you so much I've learn alot from you.
Thanks, Natali! This video is just what I needed. I am starting out and I'm slow but I need the practice to get faster. I was on the fence about changing but I spend money on quality products like OPI, CND and Young Nails. I need the money to purchase more products and to find a cheap booth rental. Thanks so much for posting this.
This info is ON POINT! You just released knowledge it takes trials, experiences and time to understand. Your reasoning is honest and true . Especially the code of silence amongst industry peers...there is enough money to be made by anyone that takes pride in their craft 😍
That's the reason why I rarely step foot in a salon because some ppl like myself have no one to watch the kiddos, hence the reason I started doing my own nails😊
I really can't complain about 1 thing in this video it's so reasonable, respectful to you and the clients, and you spoke truth thanks again Nat much love from NY ❤️
Great advice! Appreciate you showing you previous and current price lists! And your salon policy info. Excellent advice for beginners with a starting place, adjusted for their locale and level of experience. Thank you
This my first video I watch of you and I love you already. You seem like such a friendly person and you explain things so well. I’m a beginner who hasn’t actually started but I’m working on building my collection so I can start practicing. Thank you so much for this video girl 😭💖
I've watched sooo many of your videos and always share them when others ask for a good nail tech for those wanting to learn, but this video made me adore you so much more 💓👏🏽🥰 sharing all of this information, you didn't have to do. Honestly all your sets are 🔥🔥 so I'd say with your talent you don't charge enough. Awesome 🙌🏽
I love your pricing. You are good but you do keep it reasonable so the everyday person can afford to have pretty nails that last. Your area has A LOT to do with pricing. It depends on the cost of living in your area. But I do think that some places take advantage of high pricing. I cannot see paying $120 for a basic set. After all, they are just fingernails you know? I know of some that basically set their schedules to make $150 an hour minimum plus tips and expect tips to be 20% or more. Its fingernails, not a attorney or a doctor. Keep your pricing reasonable and do quality work and you will always have a decent career. Especially when retaining your clientele. When you retain your clientele and dont have constant openings you know you are doing it right. I love your outlook on everything. With you being as young as you are, you dont always see your work ethic. Its refreshing to see it. Your parents raised you right.
Love your outlook on it all girl!! Keep making videos & that money!! WE SEE YOU QUEEN!! I started nails just a few months ago and thanks to your videos, I've came such a long way!!! 🙏🏻
I agree with everything you said! I did and felt the exact way. I feel like i shouldn't rob my clients if there is nothing new or any excess overhead costs that i have encountered , it wont be transferred to their pockets . new items / new faster gel system/ acrylic etc /salon upgrades or additional upgrades is what I'll consider- once i got better i charge more- once i stocked all the new goodies and they want all the fancy stuff i added additional costs. One standard price is exactly how i feel. And not by much i usually increase my prices by $3.-$5usd every 2 years. Great job on your info and input. And same zazzle but for call cards. I'm gonna certainly get my policies printed and have it on display. The pressure is annoying!!!! Yesss!!!!! And my space is very private - it's a one on one appt so i prefer that my client and i have that and not run into someone elses appt. Late fee and no show fee same here $12usd. I get scared to dismiss a client - in all honesty after 5 same day cancellations not back to back but you know..in intervals... i still book them after... sigh Also another one is i did a set finished it and she says " oh i wanted to ask you if i can drop the cash for you tomro"..... After I've finished the service..... I wonder how?? And it's not a first appt so ...How do you feel confortable ?? you MuUST have known that you didnt hav the cash. ...just communicate and let me decide if that's ok . Phone policy yes!
I love your prices, and you do your own thinking. I will say even with you being with your parents. Still will be great to include something to cover utility and trash removal and share that portion to assist them.
Definitely keep in mind schooling as well. If you complete schooling, divide the cost of school per hour--then multiply that by however long it takes you to do a full set. then add S20
Hey nat,I was having this problem with pricing but thanks to you I can figure it out a little. Now I just have to change the prices to pesos.I live in Tijuana saludos 💗
Thanks for helping. Im 11 and I'm into nails ever since I started watching your videos. You've helped me a lot. Hope you can do more of these kinds of videos. I'ma use your advice wisely. 💙
Thank you for this info. I get asked all the time where i get my nails done and when i tell them I do them myself, they always ask for my card or info to make an appointment. I tell them i just do it for fun but im willing to do it for free for practice. My bf told me i should charge something or say i accept tips just because i spend a lot of money on products plus my time.
DO NOT DO ANYTHING FOR FREE! Charge for products and time. Take Natalie's price list and subtract $10. Keep all of your implements sanitized and sterilized! Use disposable supplies when you can.
@@lg55015 Christmas wreaths are beautiful and intricate! Your husband is right! Supplies aren't cheap. Even supplies from Dollar Tree or Pound Land can add up in cost!
This is very helpful, I’m currently in the position of learning and want to practice on people but I want to be safe and sanitary. Thank you! Love your videos 💗
When i used to get my nails done, i used to pay $40 for sets and $25 for fill ins. I did not have to worry about design charge because most shops around my area included full set design in their price and ones that did not, i just got plain color and go my way.
Wow... Where do u live? I'm in a medium sized town. Full sets of acrylic average about $40 with and extra $10 for French manicure. Designs start... START at $20, and that's for a basic design. My last professional set cost me $70, not including tip, for medium length acrylics with hand drawn Valentine's design on each nail... And that was 10 years ago lol
I love watching your videos. I started getting into nails from watching so many of your videos. Right now I really into customizing my own press on. It would be great if you did more press on videos for the one that's not comfortable right now with acrylic. 🤗
Honestly, charge what you feel is right. Time is money. If they want to go to the regular nail shops and get half assed nails while sitting for an hour let them. Just let your clients know ahead of time and charge a small let or cancellation fee because of those things happen you still can make some type of money from wasted time when you could’ve been doing something else.
You are always so informative and kind, your channel and information is always so helpful to me, i enjoy every video and I definitely always learn something new every time. Thank you so much for being you! 💖
Natalie thankyou so much for sharing all your knowledge you have inspired me to go ahead and open my own business I hope I can bd as good as you your brilliant. X
I’m kinda new at doing nails and I’m confident in my nails and not having lifting but I do take a while to do a full set and that’s what stresses me out when pricing. Any tips?
Im in California it's expensive out here. I just had to start with that. I too take 2 and a half hours. Yesterday I kinda figured out what's taking long, is I'm so focused on lifting, I take the longest time nail preparing. So I cut that in half. I could recommend you to figure out what your talking so much time on, and try cutting that in half. That's what worked for me yesterday.
I’m from the Bronx ny and sad to say the Chinese people charge so much for a bad job and they get mad when u tel them u don’t like it ! They charge you for everything and instead of doing your nails or feet done with a full service that makes u want to come back they rather you pay for everything with a bad job included smh ! Ur so reasonable ❤️ teaching me so much
Loved this video! I just graduated Nail School about a month or so ago, and I’m having a hard time deciding my prices. And I actually have a question.. I am a beginner, however I do a pretty good job so far.. and I don’t just do regular sets with polish. I like doing the encapsulating, and ombrés, basically everything that is so “in” right now, etc.. But my question is, what do you do if most of your clients nails are staying on great with minimal lifting and no breaks.. but then you have a others who seem to break or their entire nail is pooping off, sometimes several, and I’m fixing them for free? Bc at first I was thinking it’s my fault, bc I am a beginner, but now I’m starting to wonder if they are just being too rough on their nails, their body produces extra oils, etc, bc the majority of my clients have no problems at all. Bc it does take more time to start the process all over again on one or two nails when your supposed to just be doing a fill. I’m still learning so my prices are fairly cheap and reasonable and I guess I’m just not confident enough yet to say, well if your nails are broken or coming off I’m going to charge you for having to fix them!🤷♀️ But thank you so much for this very detailed video! All of your videos are so informative and I greatly appreciate them Natalie! 💗💗💗
Personally I think you should guarantee your work for x amount of time. Usually 2 weeks. Maybe if you have a problem client, maybe suggesting a different product? Gel vs acrylic etc. Make sure your prep work is sound. Use like Young nails protein bond. Use 2 coats of it for heavy lifters. See if that helps. I'm just a DYI'R but that's what I get out of all the nail techs I watch and have followed that advice and dont have any lifting issues. Of course you will always get the occasional broken nail when someone hits it wrong on something, that just happens.
Thank you for your reply! That’s a great idea... guarantee them for 2 weeks. Anything after that, I’ll have to charge!👍 And yes, I started double priming these few clients that seem to have problems. I do not have YN Protein Bond, but that is something that I’m looking to purchase in the near future. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! There areas another comment in my notifications, but I’m not seeing it when I open it up☹️ I’d like to finish reading the rest, lol!
Yes I know. That’s why I’m trying to figure out why. I have a notification but can only see part of the comment. Then when I open it up, There’s nothing here... strange 🤷♀️
Omg watching you and how you put things together its awesome. I just started like 3 months ago on my own to do nails💅i mean I've been doing my own nails for a long time, so it's not that hard for me. I get everything from Amazing & Sally's. I'm getting better and better every time lol. But I can always learn more. I still have a little trouble shaping sometimes, but compare to 3 months ago I'm good. I got a few clients cuz I'm still new, but I do at least 4 clients a week right now witch is better than nothing. But I still haven't done my PRICE LIST, I'm not shore how to go about it, because I'm a beginner so I'm stuck. So I be giving prices of the top of my head, Well that all depends on what nails and designs I'll do. Any advice ya can share I would appreciate it alot THANKS 💕💅💕
In my area it’s so expensive, so when I started I charged like 50-40% less than what the prices are here I need to add in cancellation fees now cause people just take advantage of my time, and I agree about kids and extra People around, and then the kids are walking and touching my f$#* stuff 😆
Triggered Latina -90’s girl- it’s ok once in a while it can happend but some people make appointments and just don’t even message to say they ain’t coming or won’t even answer back
Nat honey what area are you in 🤣 I need to come see you for my birthday so you can have me looking great 😂❤️ thank you for this video though I've been dying for you to post your price list. I can't wait to start my journey 😍
I’m confident in my work but I’m embarrassed to charge 20$ per set because I’m scared people will say it’s too much since I’ve only been doing them 7 months . I get anxious before each set for some reason
I love love love love watching your videos. Im new to it. I have my cosmo license for over 15 years. Im not sure if i wanna get into it to build a business. Im just enjoying learning. But your videos are phenomenal! Youre so helpful. Thank you for all the hard work you put into making them for us. Im currently using the mia secret stuff. My issue im having is at the tips. I always get an empty spot. No matter what i do i get an empty spot. Any tips? And what are the best nail tips? The ones i have are clear and flemsy. Whats better clear or white? And one more thing i open my window where i practice nails at so my house dont smell. What else can i do to help? When it gets cold i cant open the window. Any and all tips are helpful. TIA!
Wow you helped me so much I’m gonna graduate soon so I’m already practicing some of my nieces but other people they been asking how much now I know lol thanks
Just started doing nails, im practicing right now, so just doing family, first set was free because im a newbie and still have problems with getting the acrylic powder on the nails, but I told them the second time I will charge, and I’m thinking charging $20 new set, $15 fill and for diamonds, design, ombre or any extra stuff $3 more, what you think ? So far I haven’t uploaded any videos on RUclips, but hopefully soon I will. I also just order my practice hand, so I can be able to practice more and get better at it 😊
I just started to do nails and i’m struggling with prices! I always think i’m charging to much as a beginner and i should start lower but my nail sets do last long but i also want to keep my prices just fine so i can have space to grow and increase. I do what you talked about i have a chart for add ons ,services, designs, fees, full set start prices (receipt) to keep track what i am earning, the client knows what their paying for
OMG I live in Arkansas too!! I’ve been doing nails for 3 years and lately I’ve been comparing prices, I’m not licensed so I didn’t think you can charge for nails if your not licensed.. but anyway love ❤️ you Natali and thanks so much for this video!
Hi Natalie get squareup appointment book it free for one person. You can put your priced services for your clients. They can set there own appt and services. I love it. Tfs
I agree with a lot of this. I do not agree that where your booty sits, or your blessings should determine what you charge. Just because you now live with your parents doesn’t mean you always will. And not raising prices because you’re in the same place? I guarantee your product prices have gone up. I live in Arkansas too. If there are people paying $200+ for hair, you can get better rates than what you’re currently getting, especially if you’re around the metro areas.
Hi. So I just started 3 months ago to do nails, and my nails are way better than when I started, not super professionally but they are good, and I’m thinking of charging $20 plus $3 for any extra stuff, like diamonds, stickers, glitters all that, It also take me 2-3 hrs still. what do you think, is this good? Any tips you can give me Iknow once I get better I will charge more
You literally are a blessing you teach soooo much

I want my nails to be cheaper when I first start out then I want to increase my prices when I get better.
And that’s totally fine!
I charge $20 for everything and I use Valentino Mia secret but now that I’m getting better my prices are going uo
I started at $13 now I’m charging $15! Which is pretty cheap still @nnailsbyalisonn😳

My last professional set cost me $70, not including tip, for medium length acrylics with hand drawn Valentine's design on each nail... And that was 10 years ago lol
Seriously, you're awesome. Thanks for being so honest
Girl you are soooooo awesome!
Soo detailed! So glad i came across your channel!
Your advice is really great! Thanks so much hun!
Very good information I needed! I’m a beginner and I didn’t know if I should start charging or not but this helped🤗
About how many full sets and fills do you do in a day?
-Thank you! You’ve been such a great help ♥️
I love watching your videos. I started getting into nails from watching so many of your videos. Right now I really into customizing my own press on. It would be great if you did more press on videos for the one that's not comfortable right now with acrylic. 🤗
You knew I was struggling with this and made this video lol 💕
I Appreciate all your knowledge and charisma that you share here with us :)
I just love the information you give your viewers
Hi Nathali you are so talented i love your begginers arcrylic tutorials
What if I dont have problems lifting and the nails last 3-4 weeks but it takes me about 2.5 hours for a set what would you charge
LisaC right!
This is my problem at the moment
@@HeySevn my application is good but time ....
Girl yes
On point. I completely agree with it all. Your price list is super cute. I like your perspective on those things. Good video👍
You are always so informative and kind, your channel and information is always so helpful to me, i enjoy every video and I definitely always learn something new every time. Thank you so much for being you! 💖
I love nail colourful 😍👍👍thanks for share with us dear😍😍😚🤗
Natalie thankyou so much for sharing all your knowledge you have inspired me to go ahead and open my own business I hope I can bd as good as you your brilliant. X
I’m kinda new at doing nails and I’m confident in my nails and not having lifting but I do take a while to do a full set and that’s what stresses me out when pricing. Any tips?
Me too
Same here!
Lina’s Acrylic Nail Journey filing definitely takes me the longest. I want it perfect so bad I spend forever on it
Danielle Waterson me too!! 😭
I’m still learning so my prices are fairly cheap and reasonable and I guess I’m just not confident enough yet to say, well if your nails are broken or coming off I’m going to charge you for having to fix them!🤷♀️
But thank you so much for this very detailed video!
The name says it was from Trisha Stokes... not sure why I can’t see the comment🤷♀️
@@jazzedandjelledbyjess221 I dont see anything from a Trisha Stokes, just your original post then my reply, then yours.
Yes I know. That’s why I’m trying to figure out why. I have a notification but can only see part of the comment. Then when I open it up, There’s nothing here... strange 🤷♀️
Thank you so much! I really needed this video, I’m just got my license number yesterday. I’m just waiting for it to get here 😊
You are amazing ! I love you’re content girly! Keep up the good work 💕
Love ur videos. I tried my first fullset this weekend and you were very right. Don’t be cheap and get the better brush. Lol
Thank you hun. It helped a lot didn’t it??
Natali Carmona i went on and ordered the alpha brush #8. Can’t wait to get it.
Aww thank you so much for sharing your advice!!! I will continue to do my research.
I’m ten and trying to start nails and I always come to you to find info about what to do
Omg watching you and how you put things together its awesome.
In my area it’s so expensive, so when I started I charged like 50-40% less than what the prices are here I need to add in cancellation fees now cause people just take advantage of my time, and I agree about kids and extra
People around, and then the kids are walking and touching my f$#* stuff 😆
Saaaame!!! 😭😭😭
And I’m scared I’ll mess up or they won’t come out good enough but I won’t get better unless I practice on people 😭
Thank you. I really love your advice and the information you provide.
TIA!
Thank you so much for sharing this video! It helped me a lot!💖💅
Wow you helped me so much I’m gonna graduate soon so I’m already practicing some of my nieces but other people they been asking how much now I know lol thanks
Thanks for this video! I was wondering if I should price higher for gel or not like the other places in my city. This was very helpful.
I also just order my practice hand, so I can be able to practice more and get better at it 😊
Thanks for all your videos they are really helpful Dios te siga bendiciendo besos desde Ohio
I love this so much , you explain everything in your videos so well & i love your channel ! Thank you so much girl! 💖
I just started to do nails and i’m struggling with prices! I always think i’m charging to much as a beginner and i should start lower but my nail sets do last long but i also want to keep my prices just fine so i can have space to grow and increase. I do what you talked about i have a chart for add ons ,services, designs, fees, full set start prices (receipt) to keep track what i am earning, the client knows what their paying for
Is the “$15 gel” included in your firm prices or you added on to the price you already created?
Thank you so much. This video really helps
Thank you I get told I need to raise my prices and I do need to add that late fee/cancel notice
Thanks for sharing this information! Thank you for actually wanting to help beginners. Where do you get your shellac polishes from.?
i love youuu! 😫😍😍 you literally have a video for everything!
Lol thank you hun!!
Always so helpful!! Thank you 🙏
OMG I live in Arkansas too!! I’ve been doing nails for 3 years and lately I’ve been comparing prices, I’m not licensed so I didn’t think you can charge for nails if your not licensed.. but anyway love ❤️ you Natali and thanks so much for this video!
Precious Christian me too what city? girl i would let you do my nails info please
I live in arkansas too!!! Im not license either but i do charge for my products, what city are you from?
Luz Alvarez North Little Rock close to Scott's
Luz Alvarez I’m from Michigan but I live in little rock
My instagram is Precious.p_nailz add me y’all so you can see my work!! ❤️😘
Hi Natalie get squareup appointment book it free for one person. You can put your priced services for your clients. They can set there own appt and services. I love it. Tfs
This is what I needed! Thank you for this video!
What’s the dimensions on that card? And thank you for this video!!!! 🙏🏼💕
Great points! Did i miss the cell phone policy? Do you ask people not to text while getting their service?
Love this video and your price list layout. P.s. you are so cute ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this video 💕💖💕
Can you do a video on what a nail artist would need to get started. Equipment and products wise
Any tips you can give me
Iknow once I get better I will charge more
your prices are AMAZING !
How do you charge when the client needs a fill but the design they're asking for needs to be removed since it is an acrylic art deisgn?
