Looks ideal! I could do with a 3rd socket behind the microwave, since I now have a smart meter in home display to have plugged in as well as the kitchen radio.

That would be the simplest way to do it. I'm not 100% keen on them for aesthetical reasons as they are a little chunky, however out of site behind a microwave wouldn't be noticeable anyway. Thanks for watching and the comment!

I was thinking it was quite a smart looking socket when you said it wasn't but I suppose everyone will have different opinions, wee tip in removing screw caps is a bit of sticky tape pressed on to the top of them and they usually pull straight out when you peel it off, good video, love the Geordie accent as I have a few friends from down your way 👍

Good tip regarding the sellotape. I don't think it would work with these ones though as they clip in really tight. Good idea for the normal switches and sockets that use these little blanks as they do come out easier. Regards, Haydn

If I convert a 2 gang to a 3 or 4 can all the sockets have extension cables plugged into them? Just thinking about overloading, all the electrics won't be powered on at once it's just to avoid climbing behind my kallax shelves when I want to plug something different in 🐶

Yes thats fine. These adaptor socket have a fuse fitted to them so the max current all of the outlets combined can pull would be 13A.

I tried to fit a double socket with one wire (brown, blue and yellow), but tester showing earth is missing when I test it! help please

More than likely the earth wire has snapped or come loose somewhere. This could either be on the new socket when you have screwed it back to the back box or the other end of that cable, i.e. where is has been connected into another socket which it gets its supply from. There's a very slight chance your new socket could be faulty but I doubt that. Also double check your tester on a few other sockets to prove that is working too.

If you convert a one socket to a 3 socket is it overloading the wiring

Not if one of these adapter sockets are used as they will have a fuse fitted in them meaning that a max of 13A can be drawn, shared between all of the outlets.
