    Do you really need to remove the whole bloomin' bumper, cant you jut pop them off?

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD 22 часа назад

      I definitely cant access the middle ones as my tow bar is in the way. The two side ones are high up and can just reach them with the bumper on. Would be a bit tricky trying to open up the clips with a screwdriver to release the sensors with the bumper fitted and also the wiring is clipped. TBH would probably be more of a chew on trying to do it with the bumper on. Thanks for watching and the comment.

      Have a look at my very first video, its called "intercom fault". More than likely the push button module worn. Sometimes some contact cleaner on the button contacts can fix it, but you may need to replace the button module. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    •  6 дней назад

      @@HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD yea the WD40 contact cleaner fixed 1 button but the other did nothing. Bugger. Question; if we change the intercom downstairs for a new one (for another brand) would the individual videx ones at the apartments need to be changed also? thank you!

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD 4 дня назад

      The individual modules are still available from videx and dont cost too much. If everything else is working I would simply change the faulty module. With regards to the handsets, I'm not sure if they will be compatible. I actually have an old Legrand intercom to change for a new Videx system and I did wonder if the existing handsets would be compatible, however I am changing them anyway so it will all be a brand new system except for the wiring.

    Hi. Are panel works - can hear resident, they can hear visit, resident can unlock door - we just can't hear buttons buzz and no buzz sound in flat. This is all 6 flats. Any idea what this can be? We have an Elvox 8202. Thanks

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD Месяц назад

      I am not familiar with the Elvox system, however I would guess the problem will be in the call panel next to the door as the buzzers in the hand sets very rarely fail especially all 6. If you look at my very first you tube video, this is a fault which appears to be the same as you describe, but on a Videx panel but may be of some help. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    • @dylanwilson7047
      @dylanwilson7047 Месяц назад

      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD thanks for the reply. It's just the buzzer which isn't working. Any idea where the buzzer sound on the outside intercom panel comes from, when you press the buttons? Thanks

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD Месяц назад

      Assuming this is similar to the Videx systems, there is a buzzer built inside each handset in the flats / apartments. The call panel at the front door then has a button / switch for each flat number. Pressing this button supplies voltage to the handset buzzer in the flat. These can sometimes be fixed by spraying the back of the button where the contacts are wit some contact cleaner spray. Just a thought, or were you referring to the buzzing which can be heard by the visitor (so they know the door is open) when you press the door open button on your handset in the flat? If so, that noise is actually produced by the electric lock release at the door. If thats the case it could be a faulty electric release or power supply to the electric release.

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD Месяц назад

      TBH not sure what that would be. I know videx use a power supply with two outputs, one AC for the buzzer and door release and one DC for the speech. If its the same on your system and the AC side failed you would have speech but no door release but your release is working, strange. Its probably going to need a engineer to have a look at it, without actually seeing it its all guess work from me anyway. Sorry I cant be of any more help than that. When you get it sorted, let me know what it turned out to be.

Single strimmer line so struggles with any slightly thick grass and takes a long time. The larger strimmer Hawksmoor do appeared to be decent but already seems to have a fault. Cuts out on first use, so taking that back as well! Expected better quality from Toolstation.

    Thanks for the video. Just one thing for feedback and info. I got one of those exact Mulga valves from Screwfix myself that you are using here. They are generally well reviewed on Screwfix and do have a 10 year guarantee, but the hand dials for pressure and temp are really very difficult to adjust when soapy and wet because of the design of the dial itself - almost impossible to rotate. Thought Id mention this as I would definitely question their suitability in situations where this may be problematic for some more than others. Also, the reason I am reviewing your video it that I have had to replace the valve after 10 months use as the cartridge within the valve is broke! Thankfully Screwfix will cover the replacement as it is still under guarantee. Thanks again for the video.

    • @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD
      @HWrenMaintenanceServicesLTD 7 месяцев назад

      Without seeing it, I cant advise for certain. Have you checked RCD in the fuse board as well as the Mcb? The only thing that springs to mind is that one of the lights may be faulty and tripped the RCD which will protect multiple circuits, hence affecting your sockets. Other than that, the lighting circuits should have no effect on you sockets.

    Thanks for sharing Some companies reckon they do 300 - 400 items a day. This is impossible to test and visual etc. properly. I recently did a local church which in fact I do every year as my wife attends there. I`ve done it around 10 years now so I know most of the stuff there and my wife helps me with locating stuff and filling in Pat labels as I don`t have a printer. I tested 46 items and this took around 2.5 hours with the wifes help. I probably could have had it done in 40 minutes if trained as a "Sticker engineer" Cheers

      I recently did a PAT test which had been done previously by a big testing company. I found 13A fuses in table lamps along with a few other small issues which proved they either didn't open the plug, or were not competent. (at a guess probably both hah ha). Thanks for watching and the comment!
