    I really appreciate Createx allowing Chris to show all phases of the finishing process. Even those that don't include their product. I have and will continue to purchase Createx, in fact my wife just bought me some of the newest colors from the Candy 20 line and some clear. Thanks to Createx!
    PS I don't have the years of experience that most of your presenters do. I'm a rookie.

I really do look forward to seeing you make more of these and please don't be afraid to go a little long in the length of the videos. You have a ton of knowledge to share. Keep up the great work.

    I used 4053 on my surfboards. After polishing, apply a coat of 9H Car Ceramic Coating by Color N Drive. Turned out EPIC! Just as bright as a polished 2 part epoxy coating!

    My only observation that may help is actually showing more of the finished product in each sequence. You're a great help, Chris, but we really want to see the actual worked steps more in an up close camera angled way.
    Thanks again

    I paint guitars and drums. Is the 4053 durable enough for these applications? I know you recommend a solvent based 2k clear for automotive, but musical instruments don't take the same abuse as car, obviously. However, they do need to have a scratch resistant coating. What are your thoughts? Good job, by the way! You're awesome!

    Really looking forward to getting my hands on some 4053, but have a Q. I've been working with 4050 for a bit and find when polishing I am getting some haze. I thought there was an issue with my polish but then water washed my piece and got more hazing/greying. This is on a piece that had sat for at least a week. Thoughts?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад +1

      Hazing is water (vapor) that has been locked in and is becoming more apparent when compound is pushed into the open pores in the clear. To avoid hazing, extend re-coat times to allow each coat of 4050 to dry tack-free before applying the next coat. Thank you.

    Great video Chris, can you mix UVLS clears with pigment powders such as mica powders?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад

      4050 Gloss is the UVLS Clear recommend for use as an inter-cot clear for mixing pearl flake and powders with. Thank you.

      @@CreatexColors Chris, can i use 4050 as an intercoat to stop candy bleed or only use 4030 bleed checker? Thanks!

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад +1

      The best way to stop bleeding is with a catalyzed (2k) clear. 4040 Bleed Checker works to an extent, and works better with candy20 mixed with 4030 Balancing Clear compared to 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear as 4040 & 4050 share a common resin, a resin not in 4030. However - 4050 is a significantly better carrier for candy2o in regard to coating development, leveling, and holding a consistent/consistent dispersion of color, preventing the dyes for looking "splotchy". 4030 works with candy2o as an airbrush color, more for free-hand use; 4050 should be the only carrier used when applying candy2o as a mid-coat color. So, 404 works as a bleed barrier when airbrushing candy2o, and when applying candy2o with a spray gun, i.e. more as a candy mid-coat over a metallic base, use a 2k clear as the bleed blocker. Thank you.

    I have a bottle in the mail, but I would mainly use it for scale models. 1/25 semi-trucks/trailers. Obviously way too small for your big buffer, but I do have a variable speed Dremel tool with some really nice and fluffy buff balls. Do you think at 3,000rpms (the slowest I can get it) would cause to much friction (heat), or not using a buffing compound be better? Thanks and have a great day.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад

      3,000 RPM is too fast. Thanks.

    How well does this clear self level when comparing it to a 2k? Looking at using this as a final smooth coat on an object I plan on making a mold of.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад +1

      4053 UVLS High Gloss Clear levels well. For comparison to another type of clear, make a test panel. Not all 2k clears perform the same so it’s important to use the 2k clear you’ve in mind for the test panel. Thank you.

    So am I understanding, that alot of polish products leave a wax that goes away. But these (and other wax free products) will have a final product that is basically what you see is what you get and maintain the final gloss?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад +1

      Yes, more of an optical brightener-filler than a wax, but yes. Thanks.

      Createx paints are non-reactive, and bond through mechanical adhesion, without a chemical etch. Thank you.
