Thanks man this worked well with my car. Mine doesn’t turn off when the car is off. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m running a different detector than you, I’m running an Escort Max 360. Thanks for making this!
Glad to here!! It takes about 5-10 minutes for it to cut off but it will. Lock the car, then come back, it should be off if you plugged in the same port i did
I will say it’s worth it overall. It has already saved me several times and yeah man, Matt and his team at eurompire are awesome. If you do end up grabbing one and having them do it, tell them i sent you!
Unworthy F30 They’ve been putting my f30 together piece by piece for me for about year now, it’s the only shop I’ll take it to. Drop me a follow on Instagram! :)
so do you just stab the smaller pins from the kit into the red harness on the red wire place and the brown wire place you were talking about? or do you have to pull those original wires to make room?
Nope! You are simply tapping into the same power source. So the red and brown wires that are already there, are in that plug, connected to power, simply press the smaller pins into the same tiny hole the brown and red are going into and it will piggy back on the same power source. DO NOT remove the red or brown wires. You are simply poking into the same spot as the red and brown
I believe that since it’s still the F chassis i believe it still matches up. I would check blend Mount and see if they have a Mount for escort as well, they have several different set ups!
If you are referring to windshield tint sunshade, then yes, you want it mounted below because it won’t pick up good signal behind the tint, as for the pull down sunshade from the ceiling, it goes down flat, but i don’t use it because i have 0% tint on my upper windshield
@@UnworthyMotors that's my question too, I think he's referring to the sun shade that you unfold and place in your windshield when the car is parked in the sun. Part 82110040533.
@@FOURfabrication awww, in reference to that, i can fold the sunshade down about fully verticals with it in the placement, which for me and my height, covers the sun if need be. It won’t fold all the way forward against the glass but will fold fully straight up and down. In my new M4 i will be installing it on a renmount which would attach to the rear view mirror and have it moved to under the mirror which all in all is a better permanent location.
@@UnworthyMotors talking about a sun shade, not the sun visors. As in the reflective silver thing that you unfold and entirely covers the windshield when you are parking for hours in the sun so that when you get back in your steering wheel is not too hot to touch
@@FOURfabrication now i see what you are saying. I have never used one of those so i didn’t even think of that. But yes, if the sunshade sticks behind the mirror then yes, it would not fit. Simply look at how high your visor goes in the car and see if there would still Be room for a suction cup.
@@sniper2606 okay, that’s the only thing i can not confirm is if those ports wire up to the same things on my car f30 did as yours does. Have you tried turning car fully off, closing all doors and locking it and just looking through the window after a few minutes to see if it turns off?
I think you can “get by” with anything similar, even a screw driver. But a trim tool is useful for many many many other things and it’s the safest way. Using something else like a knife or screwdriver is some situations you are taking a chance on messing things up. I think it’s worth having atleast a small set just for general use.

Hell yeah, that wiring kit is awesome, makes for a nice clean install
John Williams yeah i love how it came out!
Mine worked fine until it fell from the windshield. Tried reconnecting it but no power. Do you know about this?
Sounds like the wire taps are not making a connection.
Nicely done video!!
Thank you!
Clean vid!
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
Does this fit e92 2008 m3
I would assume the Mount would not as the mirror shape is completely different
Thanks! Right to the point
Thank you!!
So you don't need that big ass part that goes into cig lighter w the button or the old phone plug?
Dope vid man👍🏼 I got t boned in my m3😢
Alan Garcia thanks man!! You have to be kidding!?!
Ok.. u do need the phone plug what size fuse??
There should be a link to the plug in the description
Welp, looks like I’m buying a radar detector now. I might have Eurompire install mine for me though.
😂

Great videos!
Question: I have 2015 BMW 640i does it has the same connections to install?
Any suggestions for the bracket for Escort 3 Max?
Thanks

Does the hardwire comes with the adapter with the smaller pins?
Yes it does!
would placing a sunshade move the radar around? i.e. the BMW sunshade?

Did the same but my uniden doesn't turn off.
I can only speak if you are doing this on the same car. But on my car, that plug turns off after about 4 minutes of the car being locked

I have the same issue. I unplug my R3 and store it in the glove box. (2016 428I)..
Do you really need the trim tool? Or can I just use a small knife?

Hey, do you need to unhook the battery prior to doing this?
Yes i would highly suggest anytime you work with wireing you should always disconnect the battery, i just didn’t post that in the video
