Just purchased Mini 4 Pro a day ago, looked at several 'Beginners' vlogs - no way!!! assumptions made and skipped over - so no real help. I found you this evening and the detail you went into was tailored for me, (just starting the thing - double push!!! ) to be able to make first maiden 'flight' - (just up and down) off the dinning room table. Big Thank You for excellent Vlog 👍
JUST ordered my Mini 4 Pro 20 minutes ago! Been watching tutorials, flight videos, and videography videos over the last several months. VERY excited to finally get one of my own and really get into videography and aerial photography!
I've had to send 2 back last week because they would not activate. If you look on DJI forum, you'll see it is a VERY widespread problem. Good luck with yours.
This is exactly what I wanted in a beginners video for the Mini 4. I have been practising flying on a Tello, which has been a good learning drone, but sucks as far as shooting video with any slight breeze. But, now I'm ready to invest in a better drone and have decided on the Mini 4. Your video has given me such a great preview of what to expect when I get it and I feel very prepared! Thanks so much!
This is one of the most clear learning video, since English isn't my language, but you explain it even better than on dji website! Thanks for this awesome video for the beginner! 👍✌️🙏
Very nice, have a mini 2 and wanted a mini 3 BUT decided to wait because of the landing gear thing NOW the mini 4 looks really really good with the landing gear, avoidance and controller etc. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos. Have taken all you courses, have my 107 but truely only fly fun of it.
This is a brilliant video! Was going to get one of these. It’s expensive , but I was gonna get it. It would have been my first one, but looking at this I’m afraid it way too complicated for me
Fear not! The DJI drones cater to a wide array of skill levels. The nicest thing about the Mini 4 Pro is the obstacle avoidance (turned on by default) and the return to home, which is right on the controller. If the battery goes low, it automatically returns to home with enough spare power to get there. The best thing to do is, when you get it, start out small. Have it take off, and then land. Do that a few times until you're comfortable. Then take it off, go up 20 feet, then land it, then as your comfort level increases, 30 feet, and add 10 feet each time. In no time, you'll be taking off, flying where you want to go, and getting great footage, and impressing yourself. I have 5 DJI drones, 4 FPV drones, and these are just fun to fly!
I have placed an order for the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone to assist me in producing more video content for my automotive channel. As a novice in the field of drone operation, I have dedicated the past week to educating myself on the subject. I recently discovered your video content and have thoroughly watched it. Big Thank you!
If you do/show people how to work on their cars, I think drone footage with a voice track in post-production is the best way to get your camera in the best point of view, but for those under the hood and inside the car, maybe not so much.
Just bought one and flew it in my house for the first time today. Great video. I want to try the active track from front POV mode while on my mountain bike going through forest trails.
Great job as always. I think this will be a good upgrade from the Mini 2. I assume you can still use the fly app with this new RC to create and edit videos (similar to what we do with our phones/tablets with older drones)? I always thought it would be neat if DJI had a desktop version for post processing.
what about the auto focus on still pictures? will it be able to lock onto a bird in the foreground? can i move the auto focus sensor to where i want it in the frame, or is it locked?
Thank you for sharing! I just received my very first drone and i have no knowledge on how to use this. By watching your video I learn a lot. So thank you!
I have had Autels for a few years now, BUT, I'm really bummed that when they discontinue older models, they quit making batteries, etc. So I just purchased the New DJI MINI 4K, it was ok, I did have issues with the USB-C cable that DJI supplied not making a connection to my iPhone 15 Pro so the controller wouldn't connect to my iPhone. I called technical support, they couldn't figure it out plus I was placed on hold several times and I had to really listen to the operator since they had a strong accent. While on hold I ended up using my factory Apple cord and Walla, everything started working, so I few for about 15 mins, but it wasn't what my older Autel X-Star Premium was, so I packaged it up and sent it back, now I just ordered this model and it will be in this week. Thank you so much for taking time to make this video.. JC
At 26:44, your map is blank due to no internet connection. Are there any tips you would have to “cache” map data or other tips, (hotspot on phone) to get map data when out of wifi?
Great stuff I just got mine yesterday I want a flight for my business to do some interior design Flyin inside houses. Also doing commercial outdoor flying for businesses I will for sure take your course to make the process easy.
Really brilliant video! So clear and easy. I really like the features of the mini 4 pro and will probably get myself one for Christmas! Is it suitable for a first time drone user?
I am thinking about buying this one after talking to the Dji sales support. I need a small drone for traveling. Do you thing I need the screen on the remote ? This will be my first drone. How long does it take to learn to fly correctly?
Go for it, they are remarkable bits of kit, I would definitely get the screen on the remote a lot less hassle to set up. They rely are not difficult to fly you’ll get the hang of it in a couple of hours.
just bought one of these today, can't wait to try it tomorrow. I've had the crap cheap chinese ones before and was so disappointed. This looks the business, thanks for putting this video together
I’m about to purchase a Dji mini 3 pro with the worries that I won’t really be able to use or fly my drone because of many airports near me!?? I’m 15 minute drive from Newark airport?? How can I find out if I can use or fly drone in my area?? Thank u in advance
You give an excellent presentation, thank you. I don't have the Mini 4 Pro yet, I'm getting a head start on learning about it. I'm curious, we're the flashing lights below the rear legs after market?I am definitely a new follower.
Is there a way to playback just recorded DJI aircraft video on the R2 controller? I am the new owner of a DJI mini 4pro and trying to learn how to fly it.
I am glad to find this great video is way better than many other ones that talks way too fast and even the detail video was way too short to keep up that I could not take notes what I need to know about the new MP 4 pro.. I am going to watch this again and it is very full of details that i can keep up with the information, I have a Mini 3 for 7 months and this upgrade is a new improvement to find all these new features . Things will get better .. looking forward to see some new videos As well I am hoping that Light Cut can be use on windows that i can do everything right on my desktop
Would you do a comparison between thos one and the air 3? I saw the video comparison you did recently, but i meant a more in depth comparison of those drones.
Is there anyway to see the gps coordinates on the screen while using DJI Mini 4 Pro without using 3rd party app. Would like to look up coordinates on a map and fly to that point.
Outstanding video! I am a brand new drone operator and just received my mini 4 pro. This video is extremely helpful; excellent content. How do you get the grid lines on the controller view screen? It seems they help to aim the camera shot, however my controller does not show the aim point/lines? Thank you!

I like your website and tutorials. I did my trust exam on your site. I will also use you when I do the part 107 Interesting issue I'm having with the mini 4 pro. I thought something was wrong when I tried to use active tracking. It wouldn't follow me it just stayed still no matter what I did. I even went into controls and tried to get the subject scan turned on. Well what I'm finding out is the vehicle I wanted to follow is my truck camper. And from behind it just looks like a big square block to the drone which I thinks it mistakes for a house or a shed and not a vehicle. So when I move it will not follow me. When I rotate the drone to the front of the vehicle draw my box around it and hit go it does everything is supposed to as normal. Then if I pass the drone as it's tracking, all good till it sees my truck and camper as a square and it stops. What are your thoughts? I can't get follow shots from the back of the camper. Thanks.
@@PilotInstitute Yes.....interesting. I have had a couple weeks to continue this observation. If I go ~s l o o o w~ It does better, If I draw my box on the side or front of the truck camper, it seems fine. It's that rear square profile of a box with a door (and even my bike on a rack) that seems to confuse it. It may follow a little while, then stop. And since this is a new model from DJI and new to me......I did get a user survey from them I actually filled out in detail on this too. So we'll see if they dissect that problem and it gets addressed and fixed in an update. Thanks for the reply back!
I’m a little confused, After I get approval to fly in controlled airspace, I have to go to DJI to unlock the air space, then wait for their reply. Noticed you didn’t have to do that or maybe it’s just not on the video. Thanks.
Great Content Greg always enjoy your videos. I like how you created this for beginners this is a really good one that will use to share with all those we work with.. Keep up the great work thank you again for all your support.
Thanks for making this video. My only regret is being cheap and not buying the mavic 3. My air 3 is great, i want a better camera. I need a sub 249 with prop guards. We all do. I ordered prop guards for my air 3. They’re almost 6 ounces. Which is around a 2/3 of the “250” number grabbed out of thin air.
What are the differences between Aloft, Air Control, and B4UFly? I have all three apps, but what is your recommendation between them? (I miss AirMap, as I fly a lot internationally.)
Does RC-2 allow you to stream to RUclips? For the mini 3 pro, you could only unlock certain features (waypoints, RUclips streaming) using the RC-N1 controller. Point the camera down when u take off for the first 15 or so feet up and it will take a pic of home to help it land on pad later.
What else should we take with a pinch of salt when using the UAV Forecast app? The kp index is pretty important to anyone flying drones.
It is important but you will know quickly if the drone connects to it or not.
Is it possible to make the left stick the directional input or is it stuck as the right one?
You can change it. It’s in the “mode” settings. You’re looking for Mode 3 instead of Mode 2.
