How to Fix an Extension Cord

In this video I will take you through the step by step process for fixing or repairing a broken or damaged extension cord. This repair will not only save you money, but it will keep you old cords out of the landfill as well. This is a quick, simple, & easy process that anyone can complete after following the video.

The tools you will require are as follows:
Side Cutters
Wire Stripper
Exacto / Razor knife
Lighter/torch/heatgun
(At a bare minimum you could do the repair with a razor blade and a lighter, but your results would vary)
The materials you will need are as follows:

Heat shrink tubing (in the appropriate diameter for your cord) www.amazon.ca/Wirefy-180-Heat...

Some key things to remember:
Constantly move the heat source on the heat shrink tubing / solder connectors to ensure a good seal.
Inspect each repaired wire to ensure a proper seal.
Test the repair out prior to putting the cord back into service.
