*I live in an area where I have about 12" of hardpan about 12" down so it was a difficult **MyBest.Tools** and back breaking task to dig a hole to plant a tree. This thing works great, breaks up the hardpan easily and quickly. Still not easy to plant a tree but the time and effort is greatly reduced. For the money it is well worth it. The case is cheap and easily cracks but the tool is good.*

I got the same clay bit attachment but it wouldn’t fit in my Bauer rotary hammer. They gave me the 1641E-B model. Now I gotta drive back to the store
Just went back to harbor fright and got the correct model the 1643E-B 2 in 1.
I know one of the smaller ones is a sds plus and the one I got is a sds max. Sucks you got to drive back gas prices are to hight for all that. I will say when you go to use the clay bit. Dubble check that its in hammer only mode if not it will rip your arm off lol ask me how I know. Hope it all works out for you.

how do you install the clay tool at that angle? Mine is side ways
Turn the switch to select ROTARY/DRILL mode. With the spade bit in the chuck, twist the bit to the angle you want. Turn switch to select HAMMER mode.
I wonder how this bit would do with roots?
Honestly I think it would do petty good i was very impressed wit the bit and the hammer drill. If i end up using it on any roots or get time to test it in some any time soon i try and rember to let you know.
It won’t chop them, but it’ll shake the dirt off em and allow you to get them with the sawzall or axe 🪓

Rotary=spinning so it is a rotary tool=drill hammer and hammer drill are 2 different things
It's both there's a switch to make it hammer only. Or it can spin and hammer.

That is a 4.5 inch clay spade bit made to cut throw hard clay. And it did a great job. I shovel would have worked but would not have been as much fun or as easy. 😁
