    Thanks for the video - I got one to help remove the concrete around an old deck post that is too close to my sump pump discharge pipe. For these large concrete slabs perhaps it would help to first drill holes in the rotary hammer mode to form "fault lines" and then use the bull point or flat chisel in hammer only mode to crack the concrete along the fault lines to remove it in larger chunks?... just a thought

      I have used your idea and it works very well especially with thicker concrete. Thanks for Watching 🇺🇸👍🧔

    It's very confusing with all the choices and bit styles but this Hercules is what I settled on. Mostly for removing gland nut on J.D. backhoe with dull 1" chisel, pushing rusted in bolts from tractor rear wheels with dull punch or torsion bars on chevy truck. I did consider Bauer but from Y.T. reviews I settled on this Hercules and this video confirms it's the best choice. What do you think about buying the extended warranty which I seldom get? Now to wait for a good coupon. Thanks for the great video.

      I don't do extended warranties on power tools. That's just me. If I was using a power tool every day I would probably go with a higher quality tool before I extended the warranty. But this one already paid for itself and still running strong. Thanks For Watching 🇺🇸🙂👍

    Just picked one up. About to bust out the old brick on my porch and block it. Thanks for the info. It was helpful.

    Id like to see this used on 4" concrete, average thickness. You would use a jackhammer on 10".

      I agree completely but we were giving it a test drive.. 😁 I'll have a jack hammer ⚒️ one day and do a video on it as well. Thanks for Watching and Thanks for the comment! 🇺🇸🧔👍⚒️

    Thanks for the review. Ive got an alley type "backyard" that some genius asphalted years back and I dont feel like sporadically borrowing the bosch from work so this should do just fine at that price point!

      This little gem should do the job I will do another review on it. After I get some hours on it but I am completely satisfied with it's performance breaking up concrete.
      Asphalt should be a walk in the park for it. Thanks For Watching 🇺🇸👍🧔

    Nice video! I'm going to get one for some crawl space work. Might be a silly question but what does the 1 9/16" stand for?

    • @NorthwindGarage
      @NorthwindGarage  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Bill, The 1-9/16 means that the maximum solid bit that you can use with that rotary hammer is 1-9/16" in diameter. Your 1-1/2 SDS rotary hammer can use a maximum diameter solid bit of 1-1/2". by MilwaukeeElectric |May 24, 2021.

    I just bought this one to replace my bauer sds plus rotary hammer, now I can finally use a clay spade bit to dig post holes and you're right it does have the beans.

      How was the Bauer rotary hammer ?
      Was that worth the purchase or did it wear out quickly?

      @@NorthwindGarage It was a great tool. It would go through concrete with a 3/4 bit like butter. I used it at at least bi-monthly for a full shift with a floor scraper bit from milwaukee for 3+ years but those milwaukee bits were awful and kept getting deformed and stuck so eventually it became my dedicated floor scraper. I got tired of not being able to use any other bits so I went to HF and exchanged it (payed the difference of course) and got the hercules SDS-Max, which is good cause I'm drill 20 4in holes in what I hope is just 6in deep concrete and it's kicking my ass so far.

    Great information, note to self, next time I have to cut 10in concrete, buy the full size HFT jack hammer

    Does the hercules sds have a clutch or will it rip your hands off if it gets bound up ??

    • @NorthwindGarage
      @NorthwindGarage  9 месяцев назад +1

      I don't believe it will unless you put a larger type hole saw bit in it. I don't know if it has a clutch or not( anyone out there know if it does let me know)
