    Nightfire's PS2 split screen was pretty much my first contact with MP-shooters. l tried the game at a friend's birthday party in elementary school and after getting my ass kicked, asked my mom to get Nightfire for Christmas and l got it. l absolutely destroyed everyone at the next year's party. We played almost exclusively Skyrail.

      Ah the memories, my friend would come over and we would play night fire and do sniping battles, having all the AI enemies try to kill us, remote controlled rocket battles, man this game was awesome! Also the campaign was sick and I love the missions where you have to sneak around the Phoenix headquarters

      it was for me too, which eventually led me to counter strike 1.6, crazy. sometimes i still play this old game with the bots, and now that you can use mouse and keyboard, everything feels like i want it to now! id still enjoy it just as much if i had to use a controller, but the mouse injector is a nice cherry on top!

      You can say that again, a much better review than the one GGGmanlives gave 3 years ago. He didn't even talk about the multiplayer of "Nightfire" at all, he just sounded like he was pissed his girlfriend or wife didn't give him some quality time in the bedroom and he took he's frustrations into his "Nightfire" review. Which resulted into an half-ass review.

    • @Nachy
      @Nachy 6 лет назад +15

      That era of gaming in the 2000s and early 2010s was really weird and tedious. Before the PS3/360 era, PC versions would either be a separately developed game like Nightfire, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and the infamous Spider-Man 2, and during the PS3/360 era PC ports would be just the PS2/last gen version of said game. For all the issues the current gen of gaming has, I'm glad the PC isn't getting the short end of the stick nowadays.

      Reports vary, but the voice acting debacle was reported to be both a time issue and contractual/legal issue. It depends on which key person says what. Safe to say, though, that they immediately managed to get Brosnan to do the voice work for 'Everything or Nothing' just before both his final film premiered and 'Nightfire' was released.

    Always found it funny how the bosses in this game are just people who can take a lot of bullets for no reason. Like, one's a ninja which for some reason means he can just eat shots and shrug em off. Never knew Ninja's could do that.

    • @e-musickvance3581
      @e-musickvance3581 5 лет назад

      That ninja can be killed with one shot or 2 shots to the head with the sniper rifle if you can find it before facing him. Armitage Rook can be taken down with a few headshots from the AIMS-20. Drake can be finished with one blast of the lasers secondary fire.

    I think the problem with the cutscenes is that they were designed with 4:3 in mind. Even some enemies only react when you move the camera within a 4:3 area. Probably the 16:9 was added at the last minute and they didn't fix this flaws.

    Drop the PC version. The console version is absolutely stellar. No one expects it to be perfect, but the packaging, delivery, experience and value in this game are top shelf. Wish I still had a functioning ps2 to play it on. One of my favourites and easily one of the most defining games of my early teens. The music mix in the menu is the sexiest ever. That jazz trumpet life with the keyboard punches. Can't touch that.

    The only thing I hate about PC version is that driving missions were removed. I mean who doesn't wants to drive Aston Martin ? Am I the only who felt sad & frustrated that we PC gamers didn't got to drive Aston Martin ?
    Screw you Gearbox.

    Great review. May I recomend the PS2 version of Quantum Of Solace also Developed by Eurocom. It was surprisingly better than the PS3 and XBOX360 versions developed by Treyarch. Just check Metacritic.

    10:22 ps2 version was the worst of em all. it could only have 2 players splitscreen and max 4 bots, while the nintendo gamecube(maybe the xbox too) could have 6 bots at once + 4 players splitscreen. 10 players on 1 map overall

    There is a reason why the pc version is so clunky
    And it is because it uses the gold source engine (the same engine games like half life and counter strike used)

    I had this on gamecube. It was to me like the pc version. Too hard. Could not get off thw first level, quickly loss interest and traded game at gamestop. Everything or Nothing was great, even the multiplayer. Rhe one on Ps 3 was good too.

    You can play the GameCube version with Mouse and Keyboard in Dolphin, it pretty great :)
    It supports other games like Die Hard, MoH, Timesplitters 2 / FP.
