- So..
Another video on Worcester Greenstar Junior. I think this is a repair, a majority of engineers run away from, only due to the lack of information.
I've made this video, for these engineers, so you know every step of how to do this job.
By the way, did you find the missed Little Component?😋
I can assure you, that it Was put Correctly in place, before testing the boiler 😌👍👍
What great content! I have changed this part more than 3 times before. I always ripped fingers on worcester with so many sharp edges. You are so calm and made it so easy. We'll done
Great video. Just replaced mine yesterday. Couldn't have done it without your video. Much appreciated.
Well Done to you 👌
I'm new to gas n Yr very clear in explaining Fantastic
Thanks for sharing. I have done a few of these but that is a very comprehensive step by step and very useful to use as a refresher before doing so live. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I always prefer the brass manifold to work on ' but good explanation of what's involved.
Excellent video, very helpful
Thank you 🫡
Great video. Thanks for showing the repair in detail. Cheers
Brilliant video mate thanks 🙏 well explained 👍
Nice job..... I always put a nice thick dry towel over the pcb before doing either the turbine or block just to be safe... I noticed the water coming out of the cold feed when you pulled it apart... 👍
10/10 video so detailed 👌
So..the Little part that I forgot to put in, but realised after filling the pressure up to 1.5bar 🤯, was.... The Right, retaining clip, on the Bypass Pipe.
So ..Quickly drained the boiler and put it in place, before taking a sigh of relief 😬
Thanks raj for such helpful video
Really good content!!! Thank you very much. However, I'd rather use silicone in spray instead of WD40. It's great stuff, but dissolves rubber (O-rings) and may cause leaks after a few months or years after use. Regards!!!

Great vid, not had to do this strip down yet.
Did you forget the prv to be secured
Excellent video and you put clip to PRV on the LHS
Thank you Sir 😌🫶
Very clear and hepfull
Been watching a few of these, this is by far the clearest. Thanks so much! I'm going to try changing just the adaptor on mine, but I think the leak may be from the return manifold which is obviously a bigger job. I have limescale deposits looking very much like what you show. I don't think you show it - but I guess you would also put silicone lube on the two heat exchanger seals where it joins the manifold?
Well.. If the return manifold is showing limescale deposits, at the top rear side, then No silicone does the job. The manifold needs replacing
@@BoilerMend Thanks - I was meaning if it's normal to put silicone lubricant on the two sealing rings between the return manifold and the metal heat exchanger plate when that gets reassembled? £110 later I have the spare part now, will be going in shortly. I wasn't thinking of trying to mend it. Also going to acid flush the heat exchanger while I have it out.
@BoilerMend I got mine fixed - Since you asked - I'm thinking the missed component might have been the bypass valve? That doesn't come with the manifold kit so needs to be rescued from the one you're replacing.
Great video of a job many swerve

Changing mine tomorrow 🤦🏻♂️ pissing out. Wish me luck. Boiler engineer by the way 😂 not just a DIYer
Hi. All the best buddy 👍. Also good to know that DIYers not attempting boiler repairs 🫣🤭😂
I am possibly doing an expansion vessel on a junior, but boiler off the wall 😮💨🤕😵😵💫
@@BoilerMenddone mate 👍 very helpful video. Thank you so much 👏
Great video mate, subbed👍
Thank you 😌🫶
Faz You made that look easy brother
Especially the clip holding the flow turbine
I remember getting vexed , my head bussing of sweat
Haha. Long nose pliers smhl
Merry xmas
Nice to hear from you Bruv.. yes the clip can be a pain at times🤦🏽♂️
@fraj9907 it's so cool you have a you tube channel man
Was gonna bell about a Worcester compact si board
But the engineer before ordered the whole unit as the pcb was flashing all sorts of codes . So happy for you mate
I feel you have found your calling
And love your take on disecting boilers
Worcester are not serviced friendly but you have an ability to make it look easy
No scars or struggles
Big man keep it up I completely enjoy the breakdowns on Worcester
Great content. Well explained. Well edited. I still don’t like Worcesters! Will look at your other videos as well.
I still don't like worcesters! 🤭🤭😁😁. Nobody does😝
regarding the ex vess pipe, if you leave a 2mm gap between the grips and housing, you can place a flat blade screwdriver between, twist the driver, and it will allow the ex vess pipe to move and becomes free. the same can be done with the by-pass pipe. the return unit you were supplied with is a service engineer only part? not what the merchants should sell.(I would contact your supplier). the plate is possibly the wrong one, if the removed plate was the original, the 14 plate (685) is for the 28i / 30si, the (686) is for the 24i / 25si. old plates 12 become 10 and 16 became 14. cool interesting vid tho.
Which way is the bypass valve going in the return manifold? My new return manifold came without it, and it felt out from the old one.
Hi.
Flat side to the left and rounded one to the right
Very nicely done
Great video, very detailed... I'll be attempting this next week. I have the 24i, shall I get a 28i heat exchanger or stick with the smaller one? Unsure if this will just be a direct swap like the video shows? Thanks
Well you can easily fit a 14 plate hx (part no. ending 6850)
IF! there are NO pipes running vertically, behind the boiler. Cuz that's the only factor which makes it difficult to fit a 14 plate, even to replace a 10 plate (part no. Ending 6860)
@@BoilerMend thanks very much for the reply, my pipes are all from below and boiler fitted on 25mm straps on the wall so got more room than normal. I'll go ahead and order the slightly larger heat exchanger 😊
Hi good video well explained. I have changed this part loads of times but never saw that brass fitting you put in at 10:18 🤔
Do you carry out repairs to WB in the midlands/Warwickshire?
I have been advised to change my worcester boiler as this part is leaking?.....is this correct ?......any suggestions and are u around the Birmingham area?....thanks
Hi.
Thanks for your message.
I am based in London.
2ndly, this component can leak, either air or water. But doesn't mean that you have to replace the boiler. if you are not originally planning on replacing the boiler. I would suggest, call/ Worcester Bosch directly. I think they charge a fixed price of around £360, with 3 major and 3 minor parts included, even if they have to take the boiler off the wall to repair it.
A lot better than spending thousands on an unplanned boiler replacement.
Let me know if I can be of any further help.
Good luck.
@@BoilerMend so u believe going thru the manufacturer is better then a smaller firm?
Hi mate if I’ve got the left block aswell shall I just change it in one go left and rightb
Hi.
Left one is a lot more easier to replace and less priced as well. If you think you can and want to replace it. Then by all means change it 👍
ruclips.net/video/xU5VY60dtk8/видео.html
This is the link on how to replace the left manifold. If you need it.
What about swapping the bypass valve ?
Hi. What about it mate?
🤔
GREEN RUBBER COVER
Nothing is not repairable…..it’s if it’s worth fixing
🫶
Btw.. did you spot what Little Component was not put back in 🫣?
The kermit coat???
Brother your method is clear and spot on...
Thank you
The green rubber 'diverter protector'
@@Carl-re6zb thanks for liking the video and method
@@Carl-re6zb and..the part I forgot...is not what you said 🫣😋 Sorry
@@umark6695 nope ..it is an essential component and can possibly cause a major leak , if left out 🫣
Need a hint on the missing component?🫣🤨
Horrible job .. new boiler
🤭👍
Designed to fail. Putting plastic parts into these bilers is crazy economics. I will never buy another product by them. Make it right first time.
🤔
Great video. How long did this job take you from start to finish? New subscriber here 👊
Hi. Think it took me about 45 minutes
And Thanks for Subscribing 🤩👍
Can I plz ask what's the name of lubricant?
Hi.
It's called "Molykote 111 Silicone Grease Compound, 100G". You can use any, NON SETTING silicone Grease👍
@fraj9907 thank u
Another question where u based?
Hi raj,
Quick question my worchester boch 30cdi leaking from where condensate trap sits....do u knw what it can be?
Fab video.. My right hand side plastic return unit was all fured up with limescale from a leak. I drained and replaced the right plastic unit and the flow turbine, re pressurised to 1.5bar, (the diverted valve solenoid looks really low and doesn't raise more than 3 mm) and it will not turn back on. Blue light is mostly off, 1 blue light to two red lights. What have I missed / need to do to get it runnung again? Any ideas for me to check? Many thanks.
