Man, I loved the sound of those air brakes! Could you imagine being a little gearhead boy when those were new, and standing on a hill overlooking one of them at work?
How could they see to back up with that centered cab and no mirrors? Buda diesels, they tried some in Euclid trucks around here. If the truck stalled going up a hill, the darn motor would start running backwards....... 18 ton capacity.
Are the brakes on this Scraper not releasing , or is the operator just being super cautious here ? Has anybody heard of the Buda-Sicard Snow Blowers that were around sometime in the 1950's,...I remember seeing/watching these great machine when I was a kid back then. I think 'Buda' was later bought up by Allis-Chalmers, am I correct ?
WOW! Thats is one of the coolest machines ive seen in a while! Never heard of this until now. When were these made? 1940's 50's? Love the sound of that Buda diesel engine! Seriously wicked bark to it. Doesnt seem like an easy machine to run or maybe the operator was just being really careful. Do you have specs on it? engine model? hp/torque? transmission? air shift? air brakes? bed yards? Is it a dump bed? Any info would be great! Thanks for sharing!!
Rear track is wider than the front, there is no margin loading on the lowboy. Sounds like it doesn't have a creeper gear, logical since it's a haul truck.

This is a 1955 Allis Chalmers TR-200 Motor Wagon. It is part of Lakeside Sand and Gravel's antique construction equipment collection.
You have to remember your history here! No...not 50 tons, not even close. !5 tons is more like it. Those air brakes sound cool.
he sure likes to dance on that throttle
Very nice piece..Never new AC made a site dumper!
im in love wit that AC! Seems like a real bear to control tho
Old Buda sounds like the CASE Powrcell diesels. Gotta love the large displacement Lanova's.
Had a 1030 with the lanova cells in it. It did not run out of power!
Schönes Video, super Maschinensound, danke!
Very nice machine, keep it alive!
You would think after owning it for over 50 years he would know how to operate by now!
The Buda motor lives on better than it's namesake town. Probably only a gas convenience store there now.
