I've had this phone (Xperia 1 III) for about 4 months now and the battery life is especially good. But that all depends if you use 120hz vs 60hz. I usually use 60hz because I don't really need 120 hz unless watching movies or social media but even that is all preference.
You can really hear the difference in the audio through this video! Both seem excellent, and the biggest advantage for both over other brands is obviously the memory extension slot and the 3.5 audio jack. Between the two, the larger screen size and the better audio are worth the price difference for me, so I want to buy the 1iii.

Xperia 1 III or Pixel 6 Pro? That's a tough one. Currently I'm using the Pixel 6 Pro as my daily and I think it's the best Android for the price. The Xperia 1 III is a better phone (more features overall), but $400 extra is a stretch. It really comes down to how important the headphone jack and microSD card support are for you.
They have the same refresh rate and resolution. Every tech yt didn't notice it doesn't run at 4k which proves that you don't need 4k on that screen size.
They're both 120hz. 4k on a small screen is a con. There is not much significance and yet it would consume too much battery. The Xperia 1 iii's only noticeable advantage is the qi wireless charging capability since it can be a deal breaker for others. the increase in RAM too but I think 8gb in Xperia 5iii is more than enough

yeah, unfortunately Android 12 isn't available for 1 III here in the US yet, and I didn't want to wait another few weeks or whatever to make this comparison. generally OS updates don't impact speed at all for app opening.
I am really on the fence about the 1 iii but why oh WHY did they have to put a V12 in a Nissan Micra!? That ruins the battery in no time and for a phone that is built to last, it is just a mismatch. Such a shame.
You did this test with prereleased software, waste of time there's a reason your not aloud to run benchmarks , softwares not optimized. Wasted video. You should have waited for the consumer version.

Sony has features those don't have. It's not as simple as less or more either direction. Cheaper price, but at what cost ethically? It is not only economies of scale that make them cheaper. Failure can be defined many ways, so that's debatable.

The 5 mark 3's battery last way longer compared to the 1 mark 3. This is due to the 1 mark 3's 4K screen resolution
