Loving the historical accuracy, going as far as checking MySpace. Excellent research
This may be the way futures historians will research our generation!!! 😅
Yes thank you 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐😂
Loving that not only does she still remember her Myspace password but also what her Yahoo account information was. I have some priceless pictures of me in a Brittany Spears outfit and my boyfriend dressed like an old lady and my girlfriends kids putting him in his bra. It was at least Halloween.
@@sarahperkins2340 yeah my high school myspace account (prior to 2010??) is gone and had been filled done ago

To quote that one Tumblr post, "cringe culture is dead and i'm bringing in the corpse for the reward money." This was awesome.
The striped hoodie is young Rachel’s version of the Sleepy Hollow dress.
😂😂😂 full circle
Hahahaha YES
That’s exactly what I thought hahaha
That dress was awesome!
It is!! I did wonder why she'd recycled the dress into a hoodie when I saw the thumbnail.
“I’m allergic to 2006” is by far one of the funniest things ever said 😂😂😂
Highly entertaining and great job

Oh my god, thanks a lot for the trouble of making the subtitles!!! I know they take AGES to be made (and I can't really express the torture that it takes), so it's really nice of you! As a non native English speaker they're really useful at times.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As someone with hearing impairment- also thank you for the subtitles.
+10 points Rachel
As someone with Auditory Processing Disorder, I also thank you! 💖💕💖💕💖
As someone who is hard of hearing, Thank you for the subtitles as well:)
My brain still somehow went *WOW THEY REALLY LOOK LIKE THE SAME PERSON* during the side-by-side reveals at the end
Hahahahaha the BONE STRUCTURE IS DEAD ON!!
I thought the same thing and then I felt like some of it looks like different people. This was an odd feeling. Either way it was very amusing video!
For some reason, my brain can't comprehend that Rachel is naturally blonde😂
😂😂👻👻👻👻
Same!🤯
OMG, Same!
I like the blonde on her. It suits her skin tone.

I couldn’t even tell the difference between the pictures. This woman has not aged at all ✨
She does look great. But she's only like 27 right? Unless you have bad genes, party too much or smoke you're not going to severely age in 9 years. I prefer the red hair to the blond it suits her so much:)
@@puggirl415 Good point. I always assume people are way older than me since they accomplish so much

I'm so glad I'm not a teenager anymore, god.
My high school cosplay would be so easy. Mom jeans, oversized Beatles tshirt, oversized open plaid shirt, doc martens, wash my hair and do no styling whatsoever. I was a grunge kid in the 90s.
Aaaaallll the flannel, damn the heat index...must..wear...flannel
Yup... except I’d go for the flannel wrapped around my waist... why did we do that. My mom called them my butt shirts. I was a bun with a pen holding it together look. My daughter found my cherry reds.... damn her ... my feet grew when I had her. so .. le sigh.. alas.. they are hers.
Same, except Clash t-shirt and clove cigarettes. :-P
Same here. I was sporting Alice in chains shirt minus the docs, lot of us couldn't afford it.
For a moment I thought you must be really young. Style is cyclical n all that I guess.
Never thought this day would come. Also she's evolved so much.

I feel the “want to be myspace scene so bad but could never actually achieve it”😩
RIGHT? why was it so hard? 😂😂😂
I was a wannabe scene queen too! 🤣🤣🤣
@@rachelmaksy Ridiculously hard! I was a broke student, so all the things I wanted to buy I couldn't afford. Lololol
Saaaame. My parents wouldn't let me dress like that in highschool, though. I got as close as I was allowed but it was never enough
@@Sarah_b_curiouser Yeah, neither would my parents. I had the quintessential black liner, teased hair, and a few tees. I knew how to take bomb, convincing pics though! Lol

Young Rachel looks like she's trying to channel Avril Lavigne.
We all did at that age...I have no idea why tho
As some one a year younger than Rachel, we were. Even if we didn't like her, lol
lol
As someone who was 15 in 2005, can also confirm that everyone channelled Avril 😂
alot of us tried to look like Avril (myself included ! )
why does that feels more vintage than 1940s looks
because we all lived to see it
Rachel: still don't know how to cover up my acne with makeup. *is perfect*
Me: what acne?
Rachel: exhibit a *zooms in on still perfect face*

RUclips videos always has filters on them. So to her she has acne. But to us viewers of course we wouldn't see her acne.
Hahaha it's definitely there but the camera is a bit more flattering 😂😂
'I'm allergic to 2006' spoke to me on a deeper level.
Fully agreed.
The only good thing of 2006 was Hard Rock Hallelujah by Lordi, to be honest.
I have no idea how old Rachel is, I assumed she was mid-20s but now I’m so confused
The fact you do the trends way after they have "died", is a reason why I follow you! It's not overwhelming anymore and I don't feel like I need to choose who to watch because its the same thing over and *over* and *OVER*
"I'm allergic to 2006"... same girl. The outtakes at the end were priceless.
“hello! it’s me! that girl that somehow keeps popping up in your recommendations. you’ve ignored it this long... until this faithful day where you decided to click and deem whether i am worthy or not of thy attention...” why is this actually true? she said that spot on.
😂😂😂😂
The way that we all still remember the lyrics to those songs.. shows us that no one truly leaves the emo phase. She’s still in there.
the clip of you singing along to Helena in that outfit gave me such a visceral high school flashback that I physically recoiled lmfao I Feel this whole video so much

Wooow! She has done some drastic transformations, but this one is insane! She looks *just* like her! I am in awe

Thanks for the memories 🖤
So many hugs.
I am so sorry that you lost a close friend, I hope her memory is a sweet one.
Rachel,
I recently got into a sort of vintage-esque style that was inspired by you. I live in Japan and today, I got my first compliment on my outfit! It made me really happy to know that others noticed that I dressed differently and that they liked it as much as I do. Thank you!!
Your hair looks so pretty in your pic
I applaud you, Madam. Your attention to detail is *chef’s kiss* impeccable.

So glad she's embraced how she shares her sponsors. Its so fun and creative now and definitely makes me want to check them out more!
Wouldn't it be great if we could just go back to our high school selves, gently grab them by the throat and whisper "No."
a common fantasy of mine LOL
HAHAHA
I thi k I’m the only person I know who actually approves of teen me’s style choices. I wore mostly soft grunge in my early teen years (floral dresses with Docs), and then a very lacy sort of boho chic with some romantic goth elements.
If I had the body for it, I’d definitely be happy to wear it again for at least one dress up. I still think what I wore was really nice.
This made me giggle out loud
I just wanna give past me a hug, really.
As a fellow former emo fan converted to vintage fashion this video is EVERYTHING
That plaid pinafore sweater number is GORGEOUS!! Also, red hair both suits you and changes you so much. I didn't think you still looked like yourself at all from the side by sides you did in your kitchen. But after recreating everything, I'm shocked!

The "only the waterline" liner was extraordinarily triggering WOW
Visions of Hollister tshirts, low rise jeans and Uggs are alllll coming back now 😳😳😳😳😳
not the uggs 😂
Hahahaha 🙏🙏
As an Australian, I have to say that I really didn’t understand the American Uggs as fashionable shoes thing.
They’re slippers! Extremely comfy and warm slippers, but still only slippers. They’re pyjamas for your feet, and not to be worn outside the house- unless it’s like a late night Maccas run, where no one cares that you’re in your pjs in public.
Don’t get me wrong- I LOVE me some uggs- my feet are cold unless it’s 30C. Though these days I tend to go for the lower slip on types, being disabled and unable to bend down to pull the boot types on. But as much as I adore the confines and warmth (and the fact that I wear them 9 months of the year, basically all day, every day that I’m at home- which is most of the time), I’d never wear them out of the house.
Because they’re slippers! (Well, except for the specially designed winter boots they made, which my Canadian friends tell me are the best winter boots ever).
@@katherinemorelle7115 my freshmen year of college, all the girls wore their Uggs with denim miniskirts and I was so confused...

My high school style was my boyfriend’s Tripp pants, cat ears, and a spiked dog collar. I honestly have no negative feelings about that. There was an inverse Mohawk incident I somewhat regret tho...
"Inverse Mohawk?" Like when Peter Gabriel shaved his head bald down the middle, way back when?

I don't see the issue of embracing your natural eyebrows...
