It sure is! The layout is pretty big, he built a building that looks like a depot to house the layout in. On top of all that has another HO Scale layout in his basement to boot that is about half the size or so :)
Super nice railroad there and an equally nice video; the prototypical speeds and sounds only enhance the experience. Tiny observation: having modeled a couple of the Klemme Coop grain hoppers (gotta love that pink paint scheme) in N scale, I've always had to scavenge from one decal set or another to find the comma that goes on the rib after "Klemme" (alas, some of the manufacturers who have produced models or decals for Klemme Coop have overlooked the comma). Look carefully and you'll find it on the prototype. Thanks for the upload.
What another beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful layout I am absolutely stunned I have never seen a railroad look so real if it wasn't for the lights on the ceiling I would have thought that was a real scene very nice work to detail on this layout and each railroad car probably cost you $100 a pop at least you can sometimes get them on sale for $55 $65 depending on what it is. But I have a Question what where those Bule locomotives in the Middle of that train at around 7mins then watch from that ponit on you will see bule engines what are they?
@@Tracksidemodelrailroading beautiful engines just beautiful thank you for letting me know that I think I'm going to be ordering myself two of them to start out obviously with DCC sound
ok, how did you guys reduce the film grain? I've been filming on kirk's layout for quite some time and I always get grainy video and it's always super dark on my end.
We've been filming model railroads for over 10 years, over time we have bought a lot of equipment that allows us to shoot railroads even when good lighting is not there. Our first 4 years were grainy, and not very bright as well. Over time we figured out how to combat this issue and we shoot everything in fully manual mode, we don't allow the camera to do any auto-corrections.

Those are SD70ACe's made by Athearn.

Is this the MRL layout in Washington state near Bellingham?
No, this one is located in MT somewhat near the pass.
👍🏻👍🏻
Was that very last boxcar also cleaning the track? Great video!
Yes it was! Great eye!
How do you keep yours from derailing? I just bought a Bachman Overland Limited and am just getting into the hobby.

@@Tracksidemodelrailroading I do manual mode too, but I guess I have something set wrong.
Remember it's not MRL without derailment
They are Monkeys Running Loose after all, lol. They do run a tight ship in recent years though. The models performed flawlessly!
Are the track plans available?
The layout map is available in the magazine for this layout. Not all have them, it really depends on if the layout owner has one or not.
Nice layout, but everything is too clean. Cars and loco’s need some weathering. Sorry just some constructive criticism.
Terrible choice of music. This is Montana baby!
Yeah next time play some Metallica?!! :-)
The music ruined the grain train going by
Hi. Im not too keen on the music you put on. Should be just traun sounds only mate.!! bj. n scale modeler...
Yeah uther than that . Yeah good..
