Don't underestimate your skills and potential. Some of the subject matters may sound like a foreign language (for now) but the more you become empowered on your learning journey it all becomes clear. I am happy to hear a more common push towards the Security+ and away from the A+ as a starting point for cyber security. Keep up the great work

Whew sistah can talk talk lol she’s very knowledgeable and this was a good one 💪🏽
Appreciate it! I try to bring on the best guest I can find
I’m only one minute into this podcast and I know it’s going to be good! See the difference between your podcast and what other people are doing is that you don’t just focus on the money. You focus in more detail on the steps that people took to get into these roles. Which is important for people like me that are trying to transition over into tech. Yes the money is great and a motivating factor but you need to know how to get to it first.
Thanks for noticing this ❤❤
Well said 🙌🏽
Her sense of self and eloquence is so inspiring to watch. I wish I was at her level of communication. Lovely to watch, can't wait to see more interviews!
the people i've seen in forums who didnt like or complain about CEH didnt do the labs in the book. yeah the test is a relatively easy test, maybe a notch or two above Sec+ but not quite CySA+, but the labs are extremely valuable...
CySA way better and cheaper too
I love the technical talk. I'm convinced that i'd be more of a red hat after hearing her describe the roles. Great interview!
@@BJMolette thank you ❤️❤️
Bro you from Shreveport?! Wow small world. I'm from Bossier City but we're from the same area. I stumbled on your video because I just graduated from Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) grabbing my 2nd degree and now I'm heading to LSUS because it's convenient but their Computer Science program is good. I did 12 years in the army and decided to go to school because my wife told me to do so and so far it's been great to use the IT knowledge that the Army gave me. Also, I got several certifications. Cyber Security is where it's at and that's what I'm going for.
318 stand up!!!
She's beautiful and knows her stuff
Great job Tiff. Im SUPER proud of you ❤
Thank you, Avery!
Way to go Tiffany, well said. So proud of all your accomplishments thus far!
Definitely a good interview.
Great episode
Thats my mission. Make a tech footprint for NOLA
You got this
What’s your LinkedIn ? I’m in the New Orleans area.
Loved this!!
Thank you
I really appreciate how detailed she was when explaining each cyber role. You asked some great questions @techtualchatter. Thank you for having this channel. Very informative.
Thank you for tuning in!
Such a good interview! Tiffany is a real one and a career learner. The epitome of applying yourself and persistence. Keep going girl!
Thanks so much!
Great Teaching
Thank you!
This was a good one. It's not hard to see why she has well in this career.
Any takeaways??
@@TechTualChatter I'll have to listen again. I thought what she was saying about the Sec+ in addition to the platform that she was using. That was pretty useful.
@@Snowballbuilder great!
@@Snowballbuilder Nice! Thanks for watching and listening.
It’s red 40 lol I loved this podcast. Learning a lot as always.
Thanks for the love and support
Let’s go!
What are some crucial steps to becoming application security engineer?
She's smart

where could i find a list of private sector companies
Anything that’s not government is private
26:00 she definitely said "non-clinical" PTSD then changed it to "non-combat" when you repeated what she said at 27:28. Just wanted to put that here so you know you weren't misremembering 👍
Thanks it’s so hard to listen and make my questions in my mind for these episodes lol
@@TechTualChatter😂 I noted the same thing when listening to the audio… talking a mile a minute! My bad! Don’t Shannon Sharpe me 😅 cause my diagnosis is CLINICAL & non-combat.
@Cybersecurity_Babe 😅😅😅

Regardless, great interview! Good educational content for me to watch while working night shift in the SOC.
I think it's important seeing other black people doing well in the space. It let's up and comers know some of the things that are possible!
@@cameroncaffey7806 I am super grateful for your support and rooting for your success!
Brotha Henri you’re a boxing fan?
Yup!!
@@TechTualChatter Yeah I got the right platform. I’m studying for my Security+ now. No IT institutional experience, just my own personal hobby of building gaming pcs, small electronic projects, and arduinos/raspberry pi’s.
@@blesscruz5644 nice now just strategize
@@TechTualChatter I mean security analysts is my sure target but I know even after getting a cert or 2 it may take a while to get employed.
But one advantage I have at the moment is I work for a hospital I been at for a long while so I can always keep up with they’re opening and start networking with that IT and security teams. As well as seek out other medical institutions. Am I thinking the right way or should I reformat my strategy?
@@blesscruz5644 hospitals need the help definitely a good start
What boothcamps do you recommend
Depends on outcome
Bro do not spend thousands on these bootcamps just use the free resources on youtube and other sites to gain the skills. JeremysITlab has a full CCNA course thats really good that will teach you about networking. ProfessorMesser has tons of CompTIA A+ and Security+ resources for free on his channel. Also understand that "cybersecurity" is NOT entry level, you are not just going to get one singular certification and then go get a cybersecurity job unless you know someone in the field who can put in a very good word for you. You will need experience on your resume from the lower levels like help desk and desktop support first before most companies will even consider you.
I definitely don't recommend boot camps. To many people think that is all you need. Helpful for sure.
Why does she admit to rubbing elbows with ppl to get a few steps ahead in the hiring process…then go on to say she thinks there shouldn’t be any short cuts made by hiring managers. Getting one’s foot in the door is very hard as it is
Timestamps please

@@darkamsiaaaa are you sure that’s the right one?
After rewatching the entire episode. I see how you pushed back when needed but ultimately y’all’s back and further just reaffirms the cluster fuck the hiring environment is for IT.
@@TechTualChatter I’m wanting to get a session with you to go over my career future. Just can’t seem to get the funds just yet. Been trying for 6 months. Soon
i enjoyed this interview & I'm interested in the PCI DSS arena. I've been researching this field for about a year and came across Baxter Clewis Academy. Have you heard of them and do you know of anyone that has gone thru their Bootcamp? If so are they willing to speak to it.
its fairly pricey and I'm not wanting to go into thousands of dollars in debt for a 3 month plus course and I end up stuck with debt and no career.
Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.
I would suggest finding some people that took the program and get their insight on it. I would also suggest having some sort of it experience as well
When she started talking about Java and being hacked it was such as a turn on sorry. A woman who can teach and knows her sh** 🫠
