I just want to comment anyone who is thinking about doing services with HD I strongly recommend you do it. After our meeting he told me straight up to work on my resume and LinkedIn. I improved both and after applying to other jobs somewhat lightly I have an interview on Tuesday for a technical role so I can start gaining some hands on experience. Know it’s not promised but I can say without those tips I probably wouldn’t have even made it to this next step lol
@50:21 im glad she said it.....even A+ is hard...the amount of information they want you to cover is not in line with entry level.....theres no way. Then they wonder why theres such a shortage of people. The barrier to entry is pretty hard. Comptias certs are not easy. Im a Straight A student thats coming from aerospace structural engineering world and i can tell you these certs arent simple.
I work service desk and assist with the training. When you said something about people doing interviews for other people, thats 100%. We hired someone that got exposed in training for not being being able to do something as simple as copy & paste!!! The individual couldnt even type of use a laptop. I asked supervisors how was his interview and they said good. At that point i knew the person they interviewed wasnt the person they hired. He resigned after making up a story that his father passed. Three weeks is how long he lasted.
@@TechTualChatter how college has allowed her to pivot into the GRC world of cybersecurity, and how important it is to tailor your resume with skills for a position, that was definitely an important one for me
@@TechTualChatter Appreciate it. Scheduled Security+ exam date for February 14 will be taking the 601 version before that expires, this will be my first attempt.
@richardrodgersjr1241 working for a small msp and the PM left. I applied and was the best candidate. Some luck and I was letting everyone know I wanted the job a few months before it was vacant. Did a great job on the interview and took it serious.
