I've been complaining about this for years. It was around the time the revenant was introduced (I don't remember what year that was). Everyone was accusing thieves of hacking. I remember seeing videos from Hadi in QQ (I hate that guy) fighting thieves and screaming about them hacking and thieves have been getting buffs ever since... I don't even fight them because as soon as you get them low they stealth and when they come back from stealth, they are mounted and running away.
Veterans have been using about face as a convenient „how to get as good as me“ card for years now, but they all seem to be able to use it so quickly it looks extremely suspicious. Meanwhile I‘m here trying to learn it for over 4 years now and still can‘t do it that fast. I‘ve also had a suspicion a lot of them use keybind shenanigans to maybe use multiple skills at the same time? I also agree the dodge looks very sus, I don‘t think a daredevil‘s supposed to dodge like that at all. I have to disagree with the 5+F1 being an exploit though. There‘s plenty of other classes that also have a similar combination, like guardian with one of their utilities, not sure the name, but it lets you teleport to an enemy instantly, ranger‘s untamed has a similar skill too, same as mesmers. Those let you combine short range bursts with a teleport to the enemy. While they don‘t give a lot of benefits other than move closer, but it still makes them a risk factor even from further range. I think this is an intended feature, to give short ranged builds a chance to reach long ranged builds, that make use of immobility, crippling and the like. The most basic advice when asking on how to fight against a thief is always to anticipate the steal and dodge it. If the thief misses a steal their value in a fight is very low. However, I agree the insane access to stealth for thieves should be looked at, you shouldn‘t be able to infinitely stack stealth and get away with it, especially if they have access to such a huge variety of ranged skills when most of the skills with reveal have a short range. edit: some spelling mistakes
„fixing“ any of these teleportation skills would be extremely easy by adding a 0.1 casting time to any of them, that makes it impossible to use a different skill while casting the tp skill. So considering that hasn‘t happenned I think this is an intentional decision to keep those skills as is.
ahh the Crow thief.. the man who can dodge things without seeing them, with 600 dodges haha we fought that guy few weeks ago, ultra annoying - i was using the braindead axe/pistol thief build, so when he left stealth i could burst him down with 6 axes, and then we jumped on his body. But ye thats 100% a hacker

@pega7550 they did exactly that to untamed. They added a cast time so rangers can't maul into a teleport
I’m guessing this never got looked at more due to human error and most theives not being able to consistently pull this off in combat.
Well thief always been one of the most broken in wvw, it probably require a full rework in the class to fix these issues.
Guard can use gs2 + judge intervention, similar mechanic.
But does it applies the same benefits? Not really. That's the point if my vid.
