Hello, I am working with the Honda GX390 engine. I need to determine the valve timing, how can I do this or do you have this information? This is the information I mean; 1) Intake valve opening angle:? 2) Intake valve closing angle? 3) Exhaust valve opening angle? 4) Exhaust valve closing angle?
Should the magnet be strait up when on TDC, on the 389cc I am working on ? How could it make a spark as the magnet is several degrees from the coil? Could the small gear on crank slipped position?????
The engine creates spark as the magnet leaves the ignition coil. The coil is not mounted at the top. As long as you have a keyway on your crankshaft the spark timing should be correct. Make sure you don't mount the coil upside down....
Nice👌
Glad I could help

Yes it can slip position and give you major kickback. Your talking about the cam gear location.
I’m over hauling other one now
I pulled the flywheel. I have spark but can’t get it to hit even once after putting it back. Are there two locations it can go on the shaft or one?
It can only go on the shaft one way. It has a single keyway. As long as it’s lined up it’s good……
@@autotech4103 ...unless you lost the little Woodruff key...🥴
@@johnshaw5978 it’s an easy job when you can anticipate all these little accessories. Not easy when you’re new to the job….
