I've said it a million times. Mick Mars is so underrated , he has come up with some of the most badass guitar riffs ever. one of my favorite guitar players.🎸
Hell yeah, I've been saying that for decades, Mick is a master, one of my favorite guitarists. 🤟
I've been playing guitar for 35 years.Mick Mars was one of my early influences and still is today.Growing up Mick E.V.H. and Jimmy Page were the big 3 and still are.Mick is a great guitar player.Always plays for the song and never steps all over it..Mick is a hell of a slide guitarist too
Same here, Mick and Eddie were always my favorite guitarists, I always liked Jimmy Page too.
In My opinion Mick Mars is the most BADASS guitar player! I Love how he mixes Rock N Roll and Blues together in his playing!
Couldn't have said it better
Agreed ...He transformed blues to hardrock
Not only that, but his solos fit the songs PERFECTLY!!!
My favorite motley Crue solo ever is home sweet home
and is the most easy solo :)
It just flows so well
Same here
Me too!
best song ever bro
Mick’s solos on Rodeo and Time for Change are absolutely beautiful too
Mick Mars is the reason I play guitar. Pure inspiration for me. The phrasing, the structure, all of it. So many beautifully crafted solos. He shows the flash when it is warranted, just to let you know that he knows all the tricks too, but he does what the song needs. When I'm working out a solo and trying to decide which way to go with it I just think WWMD - What Would Mars Do?
Mick Mars = LEGEND
I'm a huge fan of Mick Mars 👍
My favourite of Mick mars solo..too young to fall in love 👍
Me too. One of my favorites from anyone.
Mick guitar Mars is the best
Tony Wolfe, Mick Mars is not the best.
Tony Wolfe i agree. I have two tattoos on my left leg. 1313 and his autograph.
Mick Mars is one of the best guitarist I have heard in heavy metal guitaring.Helps me remember when I am pretty much on a younger age. Thanks a lot Mick Mars.
Mick Mars is a guitar legend
Mick Mars is one of the greatest guitar players of our time. Still kicking ass in 2020
Mick Mars is a fucking genius! "Primal Scream" changed my life man. Damn right, Mötley Crue is the fucking greatest!
Mötley Crüe is and forever shall be my favorite band. They changed the game every single record, from punk to heavy metal, to glam metal, to hard rock and back. The entire genre anticipated what these guys would do next.
theater of pain is micks masterpiece !!
Mick Mars severely underrated!
Mars will go down in music history as one of the most innovative and talented guitarists in modern history. There is no question. The only reason why he is not currently higher on the famous guitarist musician list is bc Mick was always a humble unassuming man who shunned the spotlight at all times so interestingly, he selflessly and gladly let the 3 other lower talent little punks ( Vince, Tommy and Nicky) take all the credit while Mick just let his talent do the walking. Every musician expert and academic musical expert knows the real reason why Crue was one of the highest selling hard rock bands of all time but strangely, not all has the courage to state that it is Mick that brought the Crue to the global success it became. He's the only reason why I love Crues music to this day, his guitar work, period!
completely amazing guitarist! One of the best!
Love seeing you play. After hearing what you are going thru I am gracious you still play. Thank You! My favs are when you add a little blues w/ the riffs I always stand up for them. Hope you & yours are well & stay that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mick America Great Again!
Mick Mars was a master of Motley Crue riffs and will remain that person forever! Enough said BEE-OTCHES👊🏼
Mick Mars no podrá ser muy técnico pero da los mejores resultados en todos sus solos, por eso es el alma de Mötley Crüe. Sus solos tienen mucho sentido, creatividad y feeling. por eso es Mr. Mick Mars.
Oh that was killer getting that isolated Dr. Feelgood solo.👍
Underrated Guitarist! I love Mick since from the beginning.
Dear Lord! I Wish Ide Had the Focus Time to Learn His Soul Felt No Ego' Style! Always Super Vibed With Mick Mars Jams' I Mean Who Doesn't?! Just Amazing Tone Choices! There Were So Many Rock/Metal Choices back then And So Many Really Really Stand Out Talented Musicians Back In The 'Mighty 80's!' That Many Just Got Lost in The MusicMix🌪 Thank You Mick! You Still Inspire Those Who Desire a Better Melodic Version of Great!🎼🎸
My personal favorite-Fight For Your Rights. I can feel every note in a way that transcends music appreciation.
I love Mick Mars so much. I can't wait to meet him next yr
Mötley Crüe have been my favorite band since 1983 so yeah I'm vested a little bit and I've always absolutely loved Micks playing!!!
I remember hearing this band for the first time and I thought damn nice sound...I am a lead player alway looking for that right tone...but I was on a true budget u know touring in a van poor as hell...all I had was a Marshall stack JCM 100 Watt and just a few pedals. Memory man, boss stereo chorus, MXR distortion, and that was it...I was as good if not better than mick but look where I am...I’m posting on effing you tube. And Mick is a legend! Oh well next life time..
Mick MARS Solos to me are on the first album i ever owned. Alice Cooper - Her Stupid. Love that sound and aspire to that quality and feel in my playing today. All i can say is thank you Mick Mars - without people like you i wouldn't have been the person i am today playing the guitar. Rock On
Home sweet home solo gives me chills for the millionth time
Mick, you have always been my biggest influence in my guitarrist style
Man these are so cool. I was never much into Crue until into my 30s (past few years).. He had un-godly phrasing. Such a unique, distinct and ear catching sound and tone. I never understood the hate. He obviously isn't a mega shredder style like alot of the 80s guys (Vai, Malmsteen, Satriani, George Lynch or insert a thousand here).. It's obviously not his style so I don't know why he would even be compared to begin with.. CC DeVille gets lumped in the shredders which is fair cause he does do it alot (although nowhere near the ability to the guys I mentioned above) and many of the solos are bland and mediocre scale runs. So at least that comparison makes sense. I'm not busting on CC I'm just making a point. Mick Mars has a killer style. There is always an idea behind the solo, a start middle and end. They always have some kinda dynamic and catch your ear. Wonderful phrasing. But when he did do more straight up blues or rock based licks or solos and did shred he wasnt that bad at it anyway. Very proficient. So I dunno. As a musician who isn't even a big Motley Crue fan, I call BULLSHIT on the Mick Mars hate.
Edit: I know about his condition and he's awesome and I hope he keeps fighting and rocking. That sucks
Mick Mars= Greatness!!!
In the Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal world you generally have two types of guitarists. Guys who are very technically proficient and fast...like Malmsteen, Vai and their ilk. And then you have the "riff masters"....guys who have an uncanny knack for coming up with great and memorable riffs. Guys like Mick Mars, Tony Iommi and Brian May fall into this category. Of course, there are also guys who are a combination of both, like KK Downing, Glenn Tipton and Dave Murry, Adrian Smith and of course Eddie Van Halen.
atomic3939 - Totally. I love Mick's playing and I think it is genius for the era Motley came up in. His solos served the song. He was flashy when he wanted to be, but didn't really have to. He just made the song better. Frig, during the 80's nearly every player turned into..or at least tried to turn into shred masters. Not Mick. He just tried to sweeten every song.
atomic3939 don’t forget dimebag 🙂
YOUR right guys! but I think Mick mars can do both styles of gatar🎸 playing if he wants2, I have seen him do Spanish style also , its just
I feel with M.C. he was only aloud to play one way? and Mick being someone who dose not like to rock the boat not a whimp by any means ! I mean he was like if it's not broke don't fix it .but I read he said on the gen swine ALBUM he got to play stuff he had not done BEFOR ! I love this guy I respect him so much & I look up to him , i love you Mick MARS YOU ROCK DUDE GODBLESS YOU AND I PRAY YOU ARE IN GOOD SPIRITS AND HEALTH !🎸🎸🎭🎭🎸🎧🎸🌠🎸🎶🎸🎼🎸🎤🎸🎪🎸😍🎸🎹🎸😍🎸👏🎸🍥🎸🎭🎸🎪🎸🎵
es un maestro, no necesita meter tanta nota , es el mejor que ha usado la palanca siempre, es increible el sonido que tiene en las manos
Mick I love the Kramer’s you used back then but Isabelle the custom Stratocaster is just a beautiful work horse. Love the crue and big fan of all your work . Your interview with Eddie on that metal show was super cool
Me.. I like city boy blues.. Mick the Legend
Brilliant!
Underrated...Legend...Hall of famer
Master of slide guitar!
I’ve seen crue 5 times and my favorite part always is Micks guitar solos!
Awesome playing mick
Mick Mars, you're my HERO!! Still Cool AF!!
The three best tones of the 80s: Mick Mars, EVH, and George Lynch
Mick Mars - legend 👌
I love SHE GOES DOWN! Very underrated Crue song!To bad they never play this one live.
+Benedikt Saurer
They did on the 20th anniversary tour of DR F in 2009.
She Goes Down, btw, is not a great song. It's one of those tunes that sounds better than they are!
Benedikt Saurer......'Dancing on Glass' is for mine also a ripper of a song that should've been played live in their later years more often on the set list. Pity. Mick's never going to be rated as one of the real greats but he is one hell of an under rated axe man no doubt about that. Fuck CC and all those other hair metal shredders, Mick has one of the real gifts other axemen don't and that's feel. His blues influence played a strong part in some of these iconic riffs, you can hear it. The early Crue stuff, even if Mick had been around already in other bands for a while, back then on the first two releases he was cutting edge imo. Throw in his degenerative spinal condition and you have one truly never say die committed guitarist.
Massively underrated Guitarist
The Best Of All Time!!
Totally underrated guitarist.

SELLO INCOMFUNDIBLE MICK MARS=SOUND MOTLEY CRUE.

Underrated!!!
Mick Mars " Was around in the 70s playing music my mom told me that. she loved 60s 70s 80s 90s music. I seen Motley Crue twice in concert 1990 1991 ) with Faster Pussycat. one bad ass concert. I am a big fan of Motley Crue. Steel got my all my mate edge magezen of to Crue. and caset tapes. the Crue retired in a good way. Mick Mars you are one good guitarest I loved that talecastoer you all ways played. PS . troyster.
You left out Looks That Kill and Kickstart My Heart
He's soooooo under-rated - \m/ C R U E 4 LIFE \m/
A big 'FUCK YEAH' to the O.G. Mick Mars.....they'll never be another one.
The Kramer Baretta and 'Tele Signature' (japan market), were JB and '59. Theatre of pain era is mostly the '59. Charvel San Dimas and Jackson Soloist were JB. The JB is a great starting point to get is tone, but it also depends alot on the amp of course. First two albums were the Dimarzio SD.
Just goes to show just cause something is wrong with you doesn't mean you can't rise above it and get to the top
GUITAR LEGEND, TONE MASTER 👌
Emotional & Singable
Better than the all other
I started crying blood 😻
My favorite Solo is a tie between peace of your action and hooligan's Holiday
Mick mars is the best!
#teammick
Home Sweet Home.
Love Mick Mars! Great guitar player! Sometimes he gets overlooked, but this guy rocks! By the way, how the hell could you have a list of his best solos, and not include. Piece of your action? That is probably his best solo! That solo fucking rocks!! Anybody that hasn't heard it, check out the Too fast for love album, and listen to piece of your action. I'm telling you, you'll be like, Holy Shit, this kicks ass!! Bad ass song, and awesome solo!!! This guy is extra amazing when you remember he's got a spinal disease. Rock on Mick!!
Mick Mars was the best I think without him motley cruel would of broke up
Underrated man u good in my book Mars
HOME SWEET HOME!
All with an extremely painful and fused spine.
i love this man.🥺🥺
THE BEST! He plays with Heart and "Economy." which is sorely missing from today's players and does what is right for the song! are their more technical players or more faster out there? sure! but they don't have platinum sales status nor as memorable parts as he does! he is a treasure in the world of Guitar... and A disabled man who rose up to achieve it all,a true inspiration. 1313.
Use it or lose it solo its tooo cool
Monster of guitar 🔥🤘🏽🇧🇷
