I live in Florida. The more who move here, the more houses that destroy our ecosystem. I am very sickened. If you plan on moving here, buy land and preserve. We have red tide now, we now have landfills from too many people, species are being threatened, ancient trees that clean our water are being illegally cut down.

The new housing cuts down all the ancient trees. Animals are being threatened. They also cut down trees that are protected that keep our water clean and just pay the fines.
It is NOT an affordable place to live in especially in the Miami-Dade and Broward county. The rent is almost ridiculous because of the high demand. Even the "efficiency" apartments which are garages from people's houses that converted into studio apartments with utilities included are reaching to the point of becoming priced like the regular apartments.
Northerners are saying Florida isn’t expensive and Floridians are saying it is. That’s bc Floridians were not paid enough to live the high life in their own state.

@@ChrisVincelli That is a big list. Mostly the air and clean water in the mountains (where I live not far from ocean and mountains). Nature, wildlife, views, hiking, snowboarding, clean lakes, views of and also views from. Just to name a few. Don’t get me wrong, Florida is gorgeous. Love the USA!

I know about st Pete Bc I live in tampa. Hurricane season is not fun bc it is right on the water. Baby turtles on the beaches don’t know where to go bc of the light pollutions. It’s kinda expensive bc it’s near the beach.

Hmmmm…. Let’s try to think of a state with much better climate than Florida, and even more things to do as well. Doesn’t (Southern) California come to mind?? With its dry heat as opposed to humid, and much less rain, and with mountains, for me it’s a no-brainer. I am willing to pay for the extra cost for the much higher quality of life.
If you consider endless traffic, smog, wildfires, droughts and homeless encampments all over the place being a "higher quality of life". FL may not have mountains but the beaches are much more beautiful and WAY cleaner than California's beaches.

Hurricanes are a threat but they don’t hit Florida all the time. One hurricane every four or five years or so.
