Me too so many farms and beautiful land being bought up for generic subdivisions. The traffic in the city of winter haven is now constant and bumper to bumper. Miss how polk county used to be, but cant change anything and I'll look like the bad guy for feeling some type of way about it. 🤷🏻♂️
I live in Florida. The more who move here, the more houses that destroy our ecosystem. I am very sickened. If you plan on moving here, buy land and preserve. We have red tide now, we now have landfills from too many people, species are being threatened, ancient trees that clean our water are being illegally cut down.
It’s not affordable anymore. I’ve lived here my whole life and I can’t afford to stay near family anymore because everyone out of state is pushing us locals out! Stop coming here!!!
Americans moving to Florida for it’s great weather is a fine enough reason. But to me, the rapid population growth, the annual hurricanes, the death of the unique ecosystems and wildlife from too much development, and worst of all, rising sea levels have kept me from having any interest in moving there.
The new housing cuts down all the ancient trees. Animals are being threatened. They also cut down trees that are protected that keep our water clean and just pay the fines.
Affordable my ass. Been a local all my life, buying is astronomical and rent is a joke. These past two years have made life miserable. Speaking for all locals, please stop flocking here.
It is NOT an affordable place to live in especially in the Miami-Dade and Broward county. The rent is almost ridiculous because of the high demand. Even the "efficiency" apartments which are garages from people's houses that converted into studio apartments with utilities included are reaching to the point of becoming priced like the regular apartments.
Northerners are saying Florida isn’t expensive and Floridians are saying it is. That’s bc Floridians were not paid enough to live the high life in their own state.
Lifestyle Chris Vincelli- now that you've been in Florida for a while do you prefer it over North carolina? I'm trying to decide between the two. also what part of NC and Florida did/do you live in?
Moving to Fl from NC soon.. love the no State taxes, I work from home and I would love to wake up to the all year around weather... Can you do a video of St Pete’s area?
I know about st Pete Bc I live in tampa. Hurricane season is not fun bc it is right on the water. Baby turtles on the beaches don’t know where to go bc of the light pollutions. It’s kinda expensive bc it’s near the beach.
Hey Chris I appreciate your videos. I just recently moved from canada Alberta Edmonton to Florida and I love it! They say miami is expensive but they haven’t seen Vancouver. I guess new York is bad?
@@ChrisVincelli That is a big list. Mostly the air and clean water in the mountains (where I live not far from ocean and mountains). Nature, wildlife, views, hiking, snowboarding, clean lakes, views of and also views from. Just to name a few. Don’t get me wrong, Florida is gorgeous. Love the USA!

It couldn't be a tax I couldn't the cost of living doesn't have anything to do with it does it mean people are trying to buy a home that's cheaper in Florida no
It’s cheap housing there because it gets hit with hurricanes … it’s got nice beaches because it’s gets hit with hurricanes … people in Florida cool AF.
Hmmmm…. Let’s try to think of a state with much better climate than Florida, and even more things to do as well. Doesn’t (Southern) California come to mind?? With its dry heat as opposed to humid, and much less rain, and with mountains, for me it’s a no-brainer. I am willing to pay for the extra cost for the much higher quality of life.
If you consider endless traffic, smog, wildfires, droughts and homeless encampments all over the place being a "higher quality of life". FL may not have mountains but the beaches are much more beautiful and WAY cleaner than California's beaches.
Our traffic has gotten very bad as well. Too many people don’t know how to drive. It’s gotten to the point of being like California. Accidents every day
And our cost of living has skyrocketed. Housing market is ridiculous right now. Our insurance rates and property taxes has increased and many insurance companies are dropping. Please stop coming you are ruining our economy and cost of living

To much land
It’s already gone up 100k in 2yrs, so yes it will be like LA by the time you get here.
@Just Another Naker An average 1 bedroom in LA is $2000+. So for someone moving from California to FL, they would still be saving money.
