  • Losing your job is NOT the end of the world! In fact, losing your job can even be a good thing. Seriously. There are so many benefits to losing your job, however we tend to overlook them and rush to find a new job so that our household income doesn't take a hit. By not taking a moment to think about the opportunities afforded to us by being jobless, you may be missing out on opportunities to do something different, something more fulfilling.
Losing your job can be a good thing because it allows you to take a step back and assess why you lost your job in the first place. For example, if your current skillset still relevant? Or were you let go due to workplace issues such as work ethic or professionalism? How can you learn from the reasons you were let go? It provides an opportunity for you to learn and grow. In addition, being jobless gives you the opportunity to do things you've pout putting off, like traveling, go back to school, or even start your job business. Needless to day, come watch the video, you'll learn a lot!

This video was super helpful! I was just laid off from a very mundane admin job where I worked for the last 15 years (I’m creative) and this video got me excited for my new venture.

That is what I thought too, use this time productively, but without money, you can’t do much if you need to keep all of your saving, keep all of your money cause you don’t know when the next job will come.

Great video, and a great perspective on this! I left my current job the beginning of January this year, for another job. I worked at FedEx (independent contractor though) for a couple months delivering packages. I was told to "RUN", not walk, the packages to the doors. Eventually this took so much of a toll on me to the point where half way through my shift one day I had to call my boss and tell him I could no longer "walk" the packages even to the houses. Someone else had to finish the shift. My knees and legs were hurting so bad, that I physically couldn't do it... I ended up quitting that job, and being off of work for 1 to 1 1/2 months until I actually got rehired where I worked previously. It seriously took nearly a month to be pain-free again also. Mind you, I never, ever had any knee/leg problems before, and I'm 25 yrs old btw. I started back at my old job in March and was doing great. Come the end of September I was given a week notice that me, and one other guy, 3 routes total (1 route didn't have anyone working it) were losing our jobs because of cut-backs, and they were cutting the routes. We were told on Monday and given the choice to work through Friday, and if we did, we would of course get our paychecks, along with 2 weeks of severance pay thereafter. The first time around, having to quit FedEx, was terrible. I had no income, and it was the first time I've ever had to leave work and not have pay. I've never been fired, nor let go. I'm thankful that I was able to finish my week out here though for an extra paycheck, and have severance pay to plan ahead. This time around has been much easier so far, and has brought me to realize who I am again, and to rethink what I'm wanting in my next career path in life. I've been enjoying my time off, and relaxing. I'm finally getting some small renovations done on the house. I'm searching for jobs that I truly want to be working at also, somewhere I will be happier at. This time around has put a lot of perspective on what I want out of a job, and that I need to be happy where I end up! Those being let go of their job, should find this video very helpful!

I found a new one before I was terminated by the most irrational and vindictive boss I ever had..the more I remained calm, the angrier and the more petty she became. I start in two days after a week long vacation..best sleep I ever had..now I can focus on me, starting a business, becoming a content creator and more; I wasn't anxious or waiting by the phone depending on the company's tender mercies..I was pounding pavement.. digitally and IRL..no, I was relieved. I had faith in my ability to turn things around..I was never finished! Stay strong!
