There was no way he was "supposed" to play Jon Snow considering the role was cast like 5 years BEFORE Ramsay showed up in the show. And so the likelihood he read for Ramsay an entire season before they even introduced the character is VERY VERY LOW.
@@GeekFurious There is a "tiny" contradiction in your comment. Firstly you are saying "no way" and at the end it is a very, very low likelihood. But to be fair, I phrased my statement wrong too. Honestly one of my favourite episodes of the entire show. The Battle of the Bastards is a cinematic masterpiece. It is exceedingly rare to experience a battle with actual emotional storytelling going on underneath and where a lot of the battle is driven by character. Amazing! Also really cool that you point out that Jon probably has the Lord of Light's protection here. That is a really good catch that many seem to forget when pointing out that Jon got "plotarmor". Well duh, he literally got resurrected. It would be worse writing if he died right then and there. What would the point be? The great thing about Thrones is that it still keeps you guessing at the edge of your seat, no matter what. Edit: Also a cool detail visually is when Jon gets up from almost being trampled to death, the overhead shot is very remeniscent of the "Mhysa" scene with Dany! The parallels between characters in this season is unreal.
25:32 - Aaron just gave me chills with that one. I have watched this series so many times and i never realized- it totally is the lord of light handling the situation. WOOOWW
Jon makes the same offer to duel Ramsey that Jaime gave Rob in season 1, but for narrative purposes the audience feels differently netween the two scenarios.
@@leonrobinson2475I’d play it down to favouritism. Lotta people loved Jaime and Robb, and the same for Jon. They called it smart. But when faced with the most hated character that is Ramsey, they call it cowardly.
One thing alot of people don't realize, is in the scene where the flayed men are burning, serves as distance markers. Ramsey was a excellent shot, he knew exactly how far to let him run before he couldn't reach him anymore.
Obviously we’re here for the fight between Jon and Ramsay, but Danaerys’ scenes fit so well into this episode. She looks glorious. “Sleep well” is such a badass line. I love my girl! That argument between Jon and Sansa is one of my favorite scenes and it’s underrated. The acting with Kit and Sophie is some of the best acting I’ve seen. You can see how terrified Sansa is at the possibility of being back in Ramsay’s grasps and she’s trying everything she can to make sure her or Jon don’t end up like the rest of their family (even if that means not getting Rickon back). “I never demand, but I’m up for anything really.” Yara has game. Her and Dany had some chemistry ;) I already know everyone’s gonna be talking about the cinematography, so there’s not much I need to say. It’s spectacular. I adore Sansa. Her move here was the best thing she could’ve done. People get mad at her for not telling Jon, but she made sure to have absolutely NO risk in letting her move be known to Ramsay. Ramsay was always good at surprising his enemies, so Sansa made sure to play dirty just like him. Someone needs to count the amount of times Jon punches Ramsay. That smile at the end was PERFECT. I’m SO SO excited to see your reaction to the next one. More than any other reaction channel, I’ve been waiting for your commentary on Winds of Winter the most. I’ll see you guys there!
@@DukeJimbob True...very true.☺ I remind myself sometimes with fictional shows that if we go that route dissecting a character like Dany and if it's possible/factual..a woman who doesn't burn in flames and somehow gives life to three flying beasts that breathe fire..that is complete fiction so why can't she have the inner core strength to hold on tight?😉😜 Hope my thought makes sense. But yeah irl everyone would fall off at some point. ☺💚
“Davos reading the situfuckauation” 😂😂😂 Also 24:43 this is one of my favorite shots in the whole series, when the rest of his horses come through from behind… it’s up there with the single pan around the whole yard at Castle Black during the fight at the Wall.
The more I watch this episode, the more my appreciation shifts. Awesome stuff all around, but the thing that sticks out is definitely Davos. Not 'Charge!'. Not 'GO!'. His order is 'Follow!' It's such a great detail that makes me just love it more every time I see it.
I like the idea that he said just before this episode that it's officially his favorite show, so then the show was like "nice.... here have one of these"
It was 21 punches, for those that want to know 😏 Ramsey smiles after #7, that’s when Jon really lays in 🤜🤜🤜 “We may as well be taking sh!ts back here” I effing love Davos When Jon is getting trampled & buried under all those bodies freaks me out every time. Reminds me of almost getting crushed in a stage rush at a concert, couldn’t breath & thought I was going to d!e. That scene is almost scarier to me than the horde of wights & White Walkers Oh Wun Wun 😭 I may have already commented this on another video but I think the giants in GOT are my favorite depiction of giants, usually they are just big & dumb without any actual emotions or opinions
What a great payoff- not just for the show but for watching you guys enjoy the victory after seeing you suffer through all the setbacks of previous seasons. One detail I love: the shield Jon picked up to fight Ramsey at the end had the Mormont bear on it, meaning one of Lady Mormont’s 62 men made it to Winterfell and played a role in Jon’s survival.
My favorite episode of the Series. One of my favorite reactions. Absolutely love that both of you are men willing to feel a story and let the emotions overtake you. It's pure magic!
Nah, fuck Sansa. She was willing to sacrifice both Rickon, Jon and everybody else, rather than tell Jon she had written Littlefinger about the Knights of the Vale. Had Jon known about a potential massive army joining them, he would have approached the entire battle differently.
Absolutely loveee you guys and your reactions ! Aarons leg shaking and Michael having a mini anxiety attack you guys felt this episode just like I did and still do every time lmfaoooo ❤

Hey fellas, Great reaction!! I’ve been chewing my nails anticipating your reaction to this episode as well as being able to watch it. I must admit that I couldn’t control my impatience and checked it out on another reaction video but it was shit! Just so you know, I’m sixty years old and a former street and prison gang member. I’ve spent the majority of my adult life behind prison bars and the majority of those years were in solitary confinement and I did a lot of reading and it was in 2010 when I was able to read the Songs of Ice and Fire books. As I said, I’m sixty years old, I said that prematurely, for I’ll turn sixty this coming August and, God willing, four days before I turn sixty my Federal probation will expire. The adrenaline rush that you both have is exactly what I was experiencing as I watched this episode with you two gents. I’ve personally been in battles somewhat similar to the scene on this episode, hence my being confined in solitary confinement for an indefinite term. This episode gave me flashbacks!! I mean, I could actually taste the copper of someone else’s blood in my mouth as I watched this episode. And the excitement?! Man! What a rush! I hope to be able to watch the entire series someday soon. I’m in the free world now and I’m focusing all my time and energy on becoming a mentor to our youth from my very own Lived Experience so that they stay away from street gangs and everything that comes with it, violence, drug trafficking/addiction etc. But on my free time I do like to watch movies and unfortunately, due to my current circumstances, all I have is my smartphone to watch them on. The mentoring I do is purely voluntary and from the heart and hopefully, again, God willing, it will become an income and I’ll be able to afford to get my own place to live and work hard giving back to the community and society as a whole and receive some sense of belonging. I have a conscience now and I know that I can’t bring back the lives I took and I now have remorse and compassion where as I never did before. I should be in a prison cell at this very moment serving twenty years but God, with His Magnificent Grace and Glory put it in the judges hands to give me thirty months in Federal prison when I was fifty six years old and that’s when I was hit with an epiphany of my having a purpose in life and I believe it’s saving the lives of at risk troubled teens. I apologize for going on one but I feel like I personally know you two gentlemen and our reactions are the same ( yes, even emotionally 🥲) You two gents have a great and blessed day. God bless 🙏🏽✌🏻😎
The Waif had a name. We just stay out not realizing. Arya. She went down there having to fight herself. Her Evil Twin version. He doppelganger. Every scene with the waif was Arya on Arya. Symbolically. That's why when the waif disappeared, Arya stark came back out.
2:43 The most Jewish exchange ever. It's right up there with comparing every hot girl to Portman. Aaron: "Danerys just got back to Myreen." Mike: "Aaaah, she'll be alright." Aaron: "Yeaaahhhh."
That is one of the best episodes of the series....now prepare yourself for THE BEST EPISODE, 6:10 - The Winds of Winter. Can't wait to see you guys react to the season finale.
Yo, but why didn’t Sansa tell Jon about The Knights Of The Vale? What would’ve happened if Jon died, how would she have felt. She kept yelling at him that they didn’t have enough men and to wait all the while hiding the fact about Littlefinger and The Vale. She’s on my shit list for that but I’m so happy that they avenged Robb Stark. Remember Roose Bolton stabbed Robb in the heart and told him “The Lannisters send their regards” at The Red Wedding. Tywin Lannister gave The Bolton’s The North and Winterfell for Roose Bolton’s part in massacre. But now Jon and Sansa (I’ll give her some credit) took it all back and now The North and Winterfell are back with The Starks. YES!!!
Because she didn't know they were actually coming. We never saw her receive a raven back from Baelish. And we can safely conclude from her discussion with Jon the night before the battle that she clearly didn't know they were coming. She was very frightened, and even told Jon that she would kill herself if they lost. That's not the way you speak if you know you have ahuge army on the way.
@@NovaLena22 I do understand that but why not tell Jon to wait cuz she sent a raven to Littlefinger about The Nights Of The Vale? They pleaded with everyone but she knew of another army but said nothing. Why yell at him (before the battle no less) about more men? That’s my issue with her in this episode.
@@Victoria-kv9oz To be honest, I'm not sure what good it would have done. As I said, we pretty much know from her behavior the night before that she never received confirmation that they were coming. Telling Jon about the Vale army would not have done any good at that point. If Sansa couldn't get them to join the battle, there's nothing that Jon could've said or done to change that. Not to mention the fact that if Jon knew, chances are that Ramsey would have found out, or there's always the possibility that Jon would've messed things up somehow...as he did with his own battle strategy. I mean really...he had a giant (a HUGE advantage) and didn't bother to develop any kind of plan around using that giant?!!
Sansa doesn't tell Jon so that the plan has no chance of leaking back to Ramsey. We already know he has spies in Jon's camp since he had them in Stannis' camp. One inkling of the knights coming means Ramsey just stays behind the walls of Winterfell and wins by default. Mounted knights are useless in a siege and Winter makes that impossible anyway. Notice how before the battle Sansa goads Jon into yelling out loud that their cause is hopeless. This was for the spies' ears. It's why Ramsey was so confident of victory. Sansa is playing on Jon's sense of family and honor to force Jon to attack which in turn convinces Ramsey to commit his troops outside the walls. Both of them take the bait.
If sansa had just been honest with Jon about the Vale and they waited what? An hour or two? They wouldn't have lost all those men.. her lying caused so much death, never made sense
Is it ridiculous that i am crying BEFORE I watch this? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been waiting for this, *deep breaths* here we go, i'll edit when it's over... Mkay, *sniffles I still think this is one of the best filmed battle scenes ever, your reactions were awesome, and just prepare yourselves if you thought that was intense.
So much fun to watch you guys react to this one. In fact, I watched it twice, to see your reactions again. During the first part of the battle, it looked like Aaron was about to hyperventilate. Then, while Jon as being trampled, it looked like Aaron was holding his breath. Stellar reactions!
Welcome to the best rated GOT episode on IMDB, voted on by hundreds of thousands of voters, the most "10" out of "10". My #2, only to be topped by a bigger battle episode in my book, which is yet to come. Anxiety level X 2 in the one I feel topped this. The next episode, is #3 in my book. The last 2 episodes & the Door of season 6, is a reason why this season topped season 4. 3 of the top 6 highest avg. rating episodes voted on by viewers. Season 4 had more quality episodes, but none make the top 6 (Till in the past year, IMDB messed with basic math & curved certain episode's rating) if one averages each vote made, properly. I swear, I thought for a minute that you both had already watched this episode before, as you guys nailed 2 events that most of us had no inkling that this would happen. First was, Mike saying, "I hope Jon slaps the S@#% out of Ramsey." Precisely, what happened. Next, Aaron, said "Pause it right now, she doesn't need the Mountain, you just heard him, where is her trial?" Although all of us are avid GOT fans, most of us took several watches of each episode, to piece together certain dialogs that went completely over our head. Although you guys have made some unusual predictions (A reason why i love you Boyz), you give the proper respect to the dialog, where so many reactors fail in a big way, talking over key dialog. Loved your reaction to this episode, I couldn't wait till you reached this point. There are still some great episodes yet to come.
My favorite is the Long Night. I could and have watched that episode more than once, and it's the episode I let my teen daughter watch to see how good this show is, since she can't watch the show yet.
0:32 mine too. Same thing happened to me. Breaking bad was my favorite show, until I saw GoT. Now it is by far my favorite show and it’s not even close.
Notice the shield Jon used to block Ramseys arrows. Bear Island warriors made it all the way there, backing up Jon Snow. Never underestimate the Mormonts or their Lady again! 😉 One of the best battles in tv history. So great. Jon taking the bate to go for Rickon was what Sansa was warning about. She knew Ramsey would kill him, and then Jon was in Bow range so he was forced to charge or run away, but with the mental torture, of course he went forward. Sansa, swallowing her need to not be beholden to Little finger won the day thankfully.
I'm so mf PUMPED right now ❤ I just know you guys are experiencing an absolute mic drop of a season with these last 3 season 6 episodes. This one gives me chills. Absolutely mind-blowing battle
Great reaction! Love how Ramsey is smiling while being beaten to a pulp. He's such a sicko. Iwan Rheon was excellent on this show. Can't wait for episode 10!!
Petyr Baelish to "Alayne" (Sansa) in A Feast For Crows, back when they were both still at the Eyrie: "[when] you come out with your long auburn hair, clad in a maiden’s cloak of white and grey with a direwolf emblazoned on the back … why, every knight in the Vale will pledge his sword to win you back your birthright." AND THAT'S WHAT'S UP.

Additionally for the “rebirth of Jon” pushing through those men to breathe, was Kit Harrington’s (Jon) idea.
@@lalamagnoliagyrl Damn, cool fun fact right there! :D
I love that Ramsey was able to get the answer to his question as to with what the dog would start eating first
I cry too Mike...the set up of the battle, Shaggy dog's head and Rickon's death puts me in tears everytime!😢 But love these reactions my guys!!!☺💚
25:32 - Aaron just gave me chills with that one. I have watched this series so many times and i never realized- it totally is the lord of light handling the situation. WOOOWW
Jon Vs. Ramsey is the difference between a warrior and a bully 😂
Winter came for House Bolton!
Jon's actor did hit Iwan Rheon (Ramsay) for real in one of the takes for their fight scenes inside Winterfell lol.
Sansa's little smile as she walked away from Ramsey.
Aaron taking the mic off the stand and leaning forward like the meme. 😂
Sansa leveled up a bit in this episode for me. I love her justice with Ramsay.
If I had a dollar for every time a reactor yells “zigzag” at Rickon, I could retire. He never listens. 😢
Living for the Davos appreciation 👏🏽
Jon makes the same offer to duel Ramsey that Jaime gave Rob in season 1, but for narrative purposes the audience feels differently netween the two scenarios.
Interesting right. Everyone said Robb was being smart but here everyone says Ramsey is being cowardice
@@leonrobinson2475I’d play it down to favouritism. Lotta people loved Jaime and Robb, and the same for Jon. They called it smart. But when faced with the most hated character that is Ramsey, they call it cowardly.
34:22 finally the Stark banner is back in Winterfell!
One thing alot of people don't realize, is in the scene where the flayed men are burning, serves as distance markers. Ramsey was a excellent shot, he knew exactly how far to let him run before he couldn't reach him anymore.
Aaron ripping his mic off the stand had me 😂😂😂
Never clicked on a notification this fast lol 😅
"Noooo"
"Yeahhhh"
"Who do you think he's draggin', bro?"
"Rickon... Definitely Rickon, bro..."
Her and Dany had some chemistry ;)
I already know everyone’s gonna be talking about the cinematography, so there’s not much I need to say.
8:58 The dotharaki screamers
Amazing how Dany rides Drogon with no straps, seat, nothing...what a Dragon rider!
Which technically would be impossible but I get it it's a show
@@DukeJimbob True...very true.☺
I remind myself sometimes with fictional shows that if we go that route dissecting a character like Dany and if it's possible/factual..a woman who doesn't burn in flames and somehow gives life to three flying beasts that breathe fire..that is complete fiction so why can't she have the inner core strength to hold on tight?😉😜
Hope my thought makes sense. But yeah irl everyone would fall off at some point.
☺💚
This is pretty funny... The night this episode aired.. the actor who played the part of Rickon tweeted "...Should'a zigzagged!" lol
28:48 This is lord Umber, Smaljon Umber not Karstark
The scene where Jons getting trampled is the most claustrophobic shit I've ever seen
If you think this is the best episode, wait tell you watch the next one 😍
My fav of the entire series!
So much happens next episode but it’s actually paced well 🤯
@@jaealxndr the ENTIRE episode from start to finish to perfection.
Not even close. Dumb episode. Plot doesn't make any sense, the battle doesn't either.
@@blondymonk1535 and yet here you are..
“Davos reading the situfuckauation” 😂😂😂
Also 24:43 this is one of my favorite shots in the whole series, when the rest of his horses come through from behind… it’s up there with the single pan around the whole yard at Castle Black during the fight at the Wall.
Miguel Sapochnik is responsible for most of our epic battle episodes. I'm sure someone will mention which ones. So good
He also went on to become one of the show runners for HotD.
13:07 "He ain't scaring nobody bro." *15 seconds later* "He's scaring me a little bit." LMAO
These guys are gonna get their hearts crushed by the end, like the rest of us.
The more I watch this episode, the more my appreciation shifts. Awesome stuff all around, but the thing that sticks out is definitely Davos.
Not 'Charge!'. Not 'GO!'. His order is 'Follow!' It's such a great detail that makes me just love it more every time I see it.
I like the idea that he said just before this episode that it's officially his favorite show, so then the show was like "nice.... here have one of these"
It was 21 punches, for those that want to know 😏 Ramsey smiles after #7, that’s when Jon really lays in 🤜🤜🤜
“We may as well be taking sh!ts back here” I effing love Davos
When Jon is getting trampled & buried under all those bodies freaks me out every time. Reminds me of almost getting crushed in a stage rush at a concert, couldn’t breath & thought I was going to d!e. That scene is almost scarier to me than the horde of wights & White Walkers
Oh Wun Wun 😭 I may have already commented this on another video but I think the giants in GOT are my favorite depiction of giants, usually they are just big & dumb without any actual emotions or opinions
Now... retract about Lady lyanna 😂 u see the last soldiers? They were Mormont, the Mormont sigil? The one our lord commander used to protect himself ❤
I was soooo looking forward to your reaction to this episode and you didn't disappoint! I love how invested you both are in this.
My favorite episode of the Series. One of my favorite reactions. Absolutely love that both of you are men willing to feel a story and let the emotions overtake you. It's pure magic!
YES!!!!! This episode and the next are the best of the whole series. I am so happy right now. 😁
Loved your reaction to Battle of the Bastards fellas!! 😄🥰 Super excited for Winds of Winter!!
"the lord of light is keeping him alive right now" that my friend is the lord of plot armour ;)
the episode i have been waiting for!!!!!
30:20 nooo this is sigil of house Arryn lords of the Vale no Baeliah sigil but yes currently lord Baelish rule the Vale, well oficiali lord of the Vale is Robin Arryn but in fact Baeliah is the one who ruls
Man, i didnt know i needed yall reacting to game of thrones in my life. Just found you guys and no spoilers but y'all got some great instincts for the story. Can't wait to see y'all react to ep 10. Beside thjs episode, that one is one of my favourite. Scored so beautifully as well. Man, im excited!
Next episode is just as hype!
Finally!!!! Yall have no idea how long I've waited for u guys to react to this LOL
"Reading the situ-fucking-ation"
“I should have zig zagged.” -Art Parkinson after the episode came out.
Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun AKA Wun Wun is to be remembered forever as the Giant of Winterfell😢
Aaron: "Danerys just got back to Myreen."
Mike: "Aaaah, she'll be alright."
Aaron: "Yeaaahhhh."
I love watching you two as much as the episodes. Your reactions are so honest and fun❤❤❤
I'm ridiculously excited for you guys to experience this. 😂
A-A'ron is shooketh by all the Lady Mormont fans. Lmao! I was one of those fans. I knew you'd eat those words, bro. I admire your owning of it. 🤜🤛
One of the best battles in tv history.
Hey! Welcome back fellas. I'm a "Bust Reacts!" Bastard!
Here's the Sigil 👉😎
Best episode in TV history!
One of the few episodes of anything to almost trigger a panic attack.
This episode and the next one are my favorites of the entire series. SO freaking good.
Ive been waiting for this reaction for a long time! Greetings from Argentina ❤
This episode is one of my all time favorites in TV. For so long, winterfell had been occupied by the enemy and the starks were either dead, on the run or in deep shit. Finally, things turned in their favor.
the behind the scenes of this battle is insane, d+d asked for impossible shit during this production lmao
it wasn't the lord of light protecting Jon hahaha IT WAS THE SCRIPT... PLOT ARMOR
Were all proud of you Bust Reacts Duo, you both made it trough! We deserve to have the big Win! Cuz we are the Good guys¡!! I was worried abt the 2 of you cuz I know exactly how you feel in this Battle of the Bastards, thank God your both OK! Well there more 2 go after our Big Win! I knew y’all would love this episode! Tbh it’s the second best episode of the series. The next episode is the best episode of the whole series! I don’t think I’m giving anything away when I say please watch the next episode ASAP! It’s a banger! Great reaction and commentary as always guys.
yeah both episodes are some of the best of the series, but they have already watched season 7 and half of season 8 on patreon, just not realeased on youtube yet. :)
I bet is Stannis listened to Davos instead of the red psycho, then he may have just become the king of Westeros
Yeah this episode won *several* awards, & for good reason!

I'm glad I'm not the only person who makes up words watching the intense portions of this series. 😅❤
I'm so excited for the episode 10 reaction!
ahh... it's nice to reminisce about this series, i loved all six seasons
