It sounds very good, but it does sound a little too far forward timewise for Shantae, unless it was a time-travel subplot and she got sent to Scuttle Town in the year 3000 and had to fight off Technobats! Which would frankly make an awesome Shantae plot.
According to the game's manual, the Shantae games actually take place in the distant future. The lost trinkets Mimic and the other Relic Hunters are always unearthing are artifacts from our own time.

I made a custom stage in Smash Ultimate with drawn buildings and lava surrounding them. I called the stage "Burning Town." I'm waiting for the Shantae costume to get released so I could make this the music for it and finally release the stage online.
Played this game a year or 2 ago thanks to a steam sale, and I always loved the soundtrack, especially this one. This is a BANGER. Whoever made this deserves not just a medal, but ALL the medals. Edit: Looked it up, the composer is Jake Kaufman, who also composed the music for all Shantae games. What a legend.
i can picture this playing in Smash Ultimate while Risky Boots is shooting cannon balls at the stage and Shantae is kicking ass until a Smash Ball pops up, then she does her Final Smash. last thing you hear is "GAME!" the results board comes, Shantae is doing her dance

We got a pretty good looking Shantae costume, and Sakurai picked her of all characters to bring along a song from their franchise. I’m real happy for Matt Bozon (Shantae creator), WayForward, and the Shantae fans. Very interested to see who the last indie Mii costume will be, if they do another one for the final DLC.
