Probably one of the best designs I've seen so far. Love the lounge option for rainy days or to get out of the mosquitos here in Arkansas, USA. The wood trim is very nice and I like the storage usage. Well done!
That is the coolest teardrop trailer I have EVER seen. So light you can pull with ease. The extra room pull out feature blew me away. Part of bed into a couch. Nifty feature where you rotate the t.v in and out. Extra storage space. ROOM to put in a heater and a small A.C unit in one of the cabinets. The person that designed that was a thinker. AWESOME.
I think you are on to something here. more an more people are beginning to see that they don't need all that unused space. there is a rise in the nomad style of living. An you're trailer is the nicest small trailer I've ever seen. keep up the good work .
This is just simply neat.. My family have always been ones to camp semi traditionally.. but for an extended road trip for business or pleasure really.. where the focus is more on the trip than the camping experience.. these seem quite nice.. it is quite impressive the way it is designed and how there are little things hidden to make the space more manageable.. also seems quite nice if something where to happen where you would have to rely on family for a few days.. this is a nice "add your own room." option so your not too imposing on their regular routines..
It's a work of art! Even if it had a 'cut-down' version without a kitchen..for short trips...it offers a nice level of comfort and convenience. nicely done.
I just stumbled across this video and I've got to say that I was floored when the trailer pulled out - I didn't expect that at all . What a great idea !! You get the retro look , and a bit more room as well . You don't see that here in the US (at least I've never seen it) .
That's *REALLY* nice! Well, thought out and I like the retro styling with classic wheels and two tone paint. Lighter colored wood looks great. Reminds me of nice older model boats and I think the slideout is brilliant. 😊👍
I'm amazed at some of the comments re. amenities. This is a 2 person camper-trailer, folks. It is not supposed to be a 5-star urban hotel. Some of the expectations are not realistic. It is easy to pack a small shelter in your car/truck.
These go for around $15,000... A fully equipped RV will run you $100,000 plus, easily. They are not overpriced, using this as a living space is relatively cheap (one-time payment) and sustainable (solar panels, light chassis for eco-friendly mobile living). Lugging this thing along is the best idea I've planned to follow through on in my future, just driving on out into nature and living a simplistic, beautiful life.
+Abuv Entertainment I don't know who you buy your RVs from, but they are as expensive if not cheaper than this. Now if your talking a huge one with a second story I might understand.
+IntrepidDiversion I don't own one, but parents of my friends do, and so does my uncle. A RV trailer as fully equipped as this one, made in the last couple years, can easily run you upwards of $100k. You can buy retro models, which are nowhere near as efficient of a load to carry, for $60-80k, depending on condition, and size, pleasantries etc. Not a double decker or anything overboard... Just a normal ass RV. Say 20 feet long and 8 feet high.
I STRONGLY suggest that you avoid any video with the word "TEARDROP" in the title. Teardrop ALWAYS means tiny. You will need to buy a huge RV to satisfy your "house on the road" needs.
Loved the trailer! The lounge is ingenious! The ONLY reason I gave you a thumbs down is because the sound was horrible and at the end, when you were showing the inside, we really couldn't see what you were trying to show us because you were not holding the camera. That's the area I was interested in seeing. I do love that little trailer and would buy yours above anyone else's solely based on that sweet lounge!!!
Very nice idea only i wouldn't sit that close to the TV but that was cool when she moved the Gidget by herself like that it's lightweight wouldn't be safe to be in if the wind picked up
Hi ragman2323 - Thank you for your kind comment! As for your concerns about bad weather, there are several videos here on our channel showing our use of a Coleman Gazebo. Gidget fits perfectly under it, it takes only minutes to set up, and you can continue to cook or relax under cover out of the rain or blazing sun. Our Gidget Glampers love it! Cheers -kj
very nice finish on the polished wood. the hob could do with a wind shield. rear kitchens are fine in hot climes, but not so good in temperate wet weather!
Hi Cardinal - Our customers use a Coleman Event Gazebo for protection from rain or hot sun. Fits perfectly, compact storage, and very easy and quick to set up and take down. There are several videos showcasing this on our channel. Cheers! -kj
It took me a few seconds to understand "Esky", thought you said "isky", but that's the down-under accent. Never heard Esky before now. In the U.S., the popular brand is Igloo or Coleman.
The one issue I see could be hooking things like tablets or a laptop screen (via HDMI if even available) to the TV. It the USB ports are on the side how do you access them? Also is the TV HMDI ready? If so then sharing a laptop/tablet with an internet connection means instant streaming!
I didn't have much interest in the camper. i just noticed her pic in the preview on you tube and decided to check out the video. She really is good looking.
It's beautiful, but me thinks that it's too big to tow and charge with a motorcycle. Do you have any suggestions as to what motorcycle / teardrop camper combination would work?
Amazing room for such a small space! Interior shots (obviously done inside a working factory) would've been much beter without so much background noise.
Interesting as I saw this exactly/similarly on a San Francisco camping website! I really like the idea but as a regular camper, Australia gets "mega" hot in Summer. Yes parks are closed on such extreme days. But somehow incorporating air conditioning would be a plus. More efficient long life, deep cycle batteries, small wind propellers etc to help in terms of electricity? But then the cost would Increase dramatically? Nor in the spirit of "camping outdoors?" :)
Hello! There is a solar panel and Andersen plug so there is plenty of power. There is also space and a plug for a Transcool evaporative air conditioner. -kj
Steven Zak To save time in the future if the word teardrop is in the title dont wait around for the bathroom. If you dont want to walk out side to do your business then its sawdust and lime in a bucket in a teardrop.
It's gorgeous; however, do they make something that's more focused on light weight and function than luxury? I'm looking for light, space-age materials that are easy to maintain.
Hi Nick, check out our specs and you'll find our campers are built of lightweight materials-similar to those used in yachts-lightweight waterproof ply in the walls and structural walls in the cabinetry and a composite plastic for other cabinetry which can't warp or bend or be affected by moisture. No MDf and no particle board anywhere near our Gidgets. We also have a Bells Compact which is designed to be towed behind very small vehicles...all info is available via info@thegidget.com.au or our websites www.thegidget.com.au or www.gidgetusa.com Cheers Chris
Not bad. It's amazing how much a company can put in something that small. If you need to use the restroom and a shower campgrounds have those facilities.I am sure that there is some climate control in there.Having the solar panels on top means not having to deal with propane tanks.
"Why" comes to mind. That 4 foot nose of the trailer does not change so "why" have the added complexity and leaks? Just build the damn thing fully extended and have a higher roofline and less weight. Sheeesh!
This is neat. Is there AC? Might sound like a dumb question, maybe you just open a window and get a nice cool breeze in Australia, but that wouldn't work in Canada during our hot humid summer days..
Um we have 45 deg c days in summer in Australia & usually not a cool breeze until 9pm if lucky. So yes, air con definitely needed in summer. She did mention room for air con.
I tried clicking on a link to your page. It won't load. I'm only 13 but I was wondering if you could tell me the prices for this exact one, cause this would be a great back up home for when I move out.
Scott S. You mean like a Harley Davidson,Assembled not built in the USA,with over 60-percent foreign parts,Same for all USA-automakers,except for the ones assembled in Canada/Mexico.Or a Japanese car built in the USA,but owned by foreign manufacturers.American,built/Assembled,the 50’s,have come and gone.I assume everything you own is 100% American all around.

Innovative design which overcomes many of the limitations of other teardrop designs.
Good job. Pricing is reasonable too.
That is the coolest teardrop trailer I have EVER seen. So light you can pull with ease. The extra room pull out feature blew me away. Part of bed into a couch. Brilliant. Someone put a LOT of thought into your build there. Well done. Best teardrop config I've seen.
Overkill, in Oregon, make a slide-out teardrop, as well. But it's a lot bigger and bulkier.
@@harrymills2770 Thats a Yank for yah, bigger than any other in the world

never mind the camper, i'm interested in the lovely model !!!

By far the very best of Tear Drop trailers!
Best Micro Camper ever. Sweet, tidy & neat.
Tremendously ingenious
You've thought of everything
Thanks!
More viable than my whole house
that front slides out so beautifully!, great design,
The patent is available on Google Patent. I’m using it to build my own teardrop. It is a quite unique design.
What an awesome design. Perfect for post-zombie apocalypse in style, and camping holidays. Am popping it on the wish list.
you'll be happy
Very nice especially like views from inside. Thanks so much!!
The slide out is masterful!
It's a fantastic camper. It's a fantastic demonstration. It's compact, clever and ridiculously overpriced.

Abuv Entertainment Oh alright, it was nice talking to you!
+Abuv Entertainment try 28.000 to 30+ thousand! Ridiculous!
Very clever and beautiful design.
Thank you, Antonio!
love the rotating tv !! very well thought out all around!
Little too small for me, but props on whomever designed it. A lot of thought went into this and it has just about everything. Well done.
I STRONGLY suggest that you avoid any video with the word "TEARDROP" in the title. Teardrop ALWAYS means tiny. You will need to buy a huge RV to satisfy your "house on the road" needs.
I'm really thinking about getting a teardrop soon... these things are great.
it's a best teardrop camper i ever saw! It's sad that i can not afford it. But i wish to say, that you doing a great job!
Thank you so much! We truly appreciate your compliments. Cheers! -kj
I am in love with your model!
rotating TV is very cool.... great idea
Bonjour très bien fait je suis étonné vraiment magnifique mercis
Love the seat and the slide out tray for a laptop, etc! Just wonder if anyone has reported issues with bugs getting in through the swivel TV?
Nice,I especially like the lazy Susan TV.
Loved the trailer! The lounge is ingenious! Wonderful details - so clevet.
I love it! But, you don't step inside, you crawl.
Build your own and make it 7 feet high. $5,000 or more.
Terrific little camper for pulling behind a car. wow
That's really nice, other than the band aid on the arm, besides that she is very nice.
You needed to show the Solar aspects of the camper. Also, what needs to be done when converting it back to travel mode.
Just my 2 cents..LOL
that is so cool i would travel in that and i did see some if those models with AC
Just beautiful, I want one :)
Very nice idea only i wouldn't sit that close to the TV but that was cool when she moved the Gidget by herself like that it's lightweight wouldn't be safe to be in if the wind picked up
I think the model is the selling point!
Good compact design, but unless in bad weather -- or in Canada. over all, good craftsmanship!

Well, since the unit has a pull out feature, maybe the reason and benefit of folding that in can be explained a bit.
The one issue I see could be hooking things like tablets or a laptop screen (via HDMI if even available) to the TV. It the USB ports are on the side how do you access them?
Also is the TV HMDI ready? If so then sharing a laptop/tablet with an internet connection means instant streaming!
Very nice features. But, if the window is propped open, how can the door be propped open? You would need that on a hot day.
I didn't have much interest in the camper. i just noticed her pic in the preview on you tube and decided to check out the video. She really is good looking.
What a neat camper!
Very well designed camper!
It's beautiful, but me thinks that it's too big to tow and charge with a motorcycle. Do you have any suggestions as to what motorcycle / teardrop camper combination would work?
I like that front section. And yes she is. ,,😎
It’s a shame this company went out of business..what a unique teardrop
Nice little trailer! The perfect size for my small vehicle to tow! But are there any sales agents here in Canada that sell your product?
Amazing room for such a small space! Interior shots (obviously done inside a working factory) would've been much beter without so much background noise.
Yess say around 5.00pm knock off time, hahaha

Steven Zak To save time in the future if the word teardrop is in the title dont wait around for the bathroom. If you dont want to walk out side to do your business then its sawdust and lime in a bucket in a teardrop.
Steven Zak We used a porta potty when we had a Jayco popup slide in camper but even with that you need a place to store it which the Jayco had.
Hey all! The Bondi model doesn't have toilet/ shower compartment but the Noosa does. Videos will be released soon! Cheers! -kj
Its BYOB
Bring your own bathroom...
...shit bucket, sponge, bowl, and towel...
Transformation is a good idea.
It's gorgeous; however, do they make something that's more focused on light weight and function than luxury? I'm looking for light, space-age materials that are easy to maintain.

What's the benefit of the slide out bit ? Why not just build it that size, drawbar will be more or less the same length?
Absolutly amazing.
Dear,
what are the dimensions inside of your trailler (length, height, width)?
Not bad. It's amazing how much a company can put in something that small. If you need to use the restroom and a shower campgrounds have those facilities.I am sure that there is some climate control in there.Having the solar panels on top means not having to deal with propane tanks.
Wish you had a U.S. distributor. These are fabulous.
Hello - we do not have distributors in the US although you can order direct from our Australian HQ and we help coordinate shipping. Cheers!
"Why" comes to mind.
That 4 foot nose of the trailer does not change so "why" have the added complexity and leaks?
Just build the damn thing fully extended and have a higher roofline and less weight. Sheeesh!
Nice upgrade from tent camping.
Can the cooking be done on the inside ? In case it rains or bad weather .
1:33 This is where I started laughing thinking just how Cool that window is.
Very nice. I like the place to put your feet.
exellent beutfull for sardinia island in the middle mediterranean sea...it's my dream
Ik in love with this teardrop
This is neat.

Will the solar panel run the TV ? What are the price range of the pull out teardrop camper?
I want one of these so bad
I love this thing!
Show the plumbing and how the faucet work, please
You should open up shop in the UK. Everybody and their dog has a caravan. These would sell like hot cakes.
Thanks! No shop in the UK but we do ship there!
I'm moving to Australia just to get one of these.
1:27 For some reason I thought you reaching for a turntable for the retro effect.
I LOVE IT!!!
I tried clicking on a link to your page. It won't load. I'm only 13 but I was wondering if you could tell me the prices for this exact one, cause this would be a great back up home for when I move out.
Between 5 and 10 thousand, maybe more depending on the amenities offered with it.
wow,, amazing idea.
How mutch for the basic model, and how much to ship to NZ please?
She made it look nicer
Can you ship one to the USA?
Zachary Blanchard How about buy a trailer made in the USA? Or is that a made in China "American" flag in your profile pick?
Scott S. No that is the huge flag in Las Vegas. And I like what I like. Do you really need to judge?
Zachary Blanchard Yea im pretty sure they ship to the US. Mainly because on the website they have prices and order forms for US and International
From the description, this is made in Australia, not China.
Great video minus noise sorry, can one buy this in US?
Naomi, we are in the process of opening up a US HQ. Please see our website for more info. Or email kathleen@thegidget.com.au. Thank you! Www.thegidget.com.au
THIS IS GREAT!!
Очень КРУТО!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is so AWESOME!!!! SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im ready lets go camping !
can you sit inside the camper while its not folded out?
Good on ya! Great ideas!
Mermaid
Hello I have a Harley v-rod and I am interested in your product, I just don't know if I can take the trailer on the bike could you clarify this question because I do a lot of traveling with my bike =) Thank you and keep the good working
Hi Filipe - sorry for such a late response. We are building a smaller model for bikes. It will be coming out in 2016 so stay tuned! Cheers - kj
OMG, love it
I love this camper! But I am extremely disappointed that I can't hear most of this video, an important detail if you want to sell your product.
Great design how much does this cost and what is the lead time?
HI Corrigeen71, thanks for your nice comment. We have a full specifications and price list downloadable from our website at www.thegidget.com.au. This details all the inclusions which are a very long list, everything you see is pretty much included as well as the ability to customise some key features...and means you don't need to option up before you can take your Gidget on the road. The Bondi is $18,450 and the Noosa is $23,250 [incl GST]. Both models have the slide-out to Queenslize bed and all the features mentioned in the video and many more not mentioned like the water and waste tank, full panel with meters to check your power and water supply levels, Torsion axle and electric brakes to name some of them. GidgetRetroCamper Where do you pee??? Shower???
Alex Molina ...park your car in??? Where to put your family of 85 People??? Where to prepare the buffet for them???
Alex Molina In america most camp grounds have full flushing toilets and showers
Alex Molina In the Bondi model, there is no shower or toilet. In the Noosa model, however, they have a pop out one. It's on their website.
All it it needs is an overhead track for a G scale train!
Something like that available in Europe maybe?
What's the need for it to contract? Why not just stay extended?
Does the trailer tongue retract at all? If not I'm not sure I understand the point of the extendable living space; why not just make the camper the full length of the trailer?
