It's always about the walk Henry, you'll rarely get a great shot if you've not enjoyed the walk! Great to see you having an enjoyable day in the fells, and sharing a great route with us too!
I spend my Thursday afternoon coffee break at my desk watching your videos. What a pick-me-up. That photo in your newsletter though! And with an iPhone!!! Amazing. And so's the image of the heather. Love them both ;-)
And what a beautiful day for a walk it was, at such an amazing location! What a nice surprise to see the heather still blooming at this time of year, love the image!
Another enjoyable video Henry. A lot of the scenery in your video reminds me of the mountains here in Ash County ,North Carolina.USA. And yes, we even have an occasional jet or two buzzing by.
Hi Henry, another grand day out thanks for sharing. Interesting shot of the leaf on the moss, surprisingly good with much more detail than you might expect, nice one! The shot with the heather was pretty nice too as was the black and white image of the fells. Looking forward to next week's meal deal ;-)
Completely off topic Henry but here goes. About a week ago I pulled the trigger and added to my cargo of Nikons, ONE very worthy little bit of camera kit. The OM System OM5 and 12-45 lens. I have not done any serious work with it other than putting it and myself through the paces. It's a TINY thing in my huge hands and articulating the buttons and functions is a learning process but I'm LOVING it! When you first introduced your new "Little" camera I was doubtful to say the least. I bleed Nikon, I've been using ONLY Nikon since the mid-seventies, and I will always be a Nikon man. BUT this compact little OM System kit is spectacular. At 1.47 pounds total weight with lens and battery and arca-swiss plate, it is going to be my primary GO-TO for walk around street photography and travel photography, when I'm not loading up my 4WD all-terrain and driving about the U.S. for weeks on end with camera bags and tripods! And it is certainly NOT a compromise bit of kit for travel photography. I certainly don't just point at landmarks and stock scenes when travelling, I always try to do serious work, and this little camera will handle it easily. Already, I've been handholding at 2 seconds and getting tack sharp images! As I'm getting older, I find I have trouble being steady at anything below 1/30th with my Zed and my D850's, so the OM5 is a revelation! So, thank you for causing me to spend MORE money on equipment! 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously, thanks for your enthusiastic endorsement of the OM5! I could NOT be happier with the acquisition. It's a total JAZZ and just fun to have such a cute and little piece of really fine kit, close at hand! That 12-45/24-90 lens is sharp and the perfect travel lens. The focus ring is butter smooth with a pleasant drag/resistance and the zoom is smooth. I've heard so much about how the OM System OM5 doesn't live up to expectations, some kind of revolutionary "Great Leap Forward" thanks Billy Bragg, but it packs a lot onboard with only the ISIS and built in ND settings that I don't have on any of my Zeds or DSLR's! So, for me it's a revelation and thank you again for sending me down the rabbit hole of "Kit Envy" and lust for more equipment!!! Did I need it? NO but if you want something enough you can convince yourself that you NEED it! Enjoyed your little walk-about, title of one of my little books by the way, and what charming and photogenic stone cottages in the intro!
Hi mate, oh that is fantastic, sorry for encouraging you to spend! That's a really compact setup you have there, especially with that lens! Thanks for watching mate and taking the time to comment
I enjoyed the video as usual Henry. It was nice to see you and Adam out again. At least you had decent weather, although i know you are not a fan of blue skies. I thought the B & W image at the end was really nice. Catch you on the next one.
Thanks Henry for another nice video, great to see you in a very relaxed chilled mood, and put with another one of your photography friends. Loved both of the images you captured especially the B&W one
Enjoyed this video - I’ve visited the waterfall when we were in the area after I saw your last video, and interested in your comments about Holme Fell being one for the less fit amongst us! Might give it a try 👍
Cheers Henry, this is Sean in Atlanta! You know how much I like and appreciate your videos and I just had a crazy thought. Why don’t you start another channel that, for the most part, only has to do with hiking and explaining the areas that you are hiking in? Since I live in Atlanta, Georgia in the Southeastern portion of the United States, and England is my Heart Country that I wish I could live in, I would love to learn about areas that I would normally never get to see in my lifetime. For instance, I would never be able to see the Wainwrights or the Pikes and Fells that you hike in, or even the Lake District or parts of Scotland, other than cities where I would go to as a tourist. Of course, bring your cameras but focus on hiking and explaining the different areas of the UK. Maybe it would even be a new revenue stream for you. Just a thought, my friend! Thanks for another great video And Adam is a really great photographer and person and I’m so happy your mates! Sean
Ah thanks mate, yeah I have often thought about that. I think I have unconsciously stated to include a little more hiking/outdoor info within my vlogs naturally. It's perhaps something to think about!
still too "summery" here in southern Indiana, US as well. A few of my key trees in town are starting to orange up some. Last two weeks have been great for getting out, but no good scenes so far
Dont always need to get great images to have a good day out Henry, especially when with a friend. Dont think Adam quite got your "wobble on pace" at times but that said, he looked to be carrying more kit in his larger bag. Was that Ashness Bridge in your newsletter ? If it was, i took a similar shot but from the side of bridge.
Surely you’ll never be considered a ‘proper’ photographer Henry until you sell an organ and get a Hasselblad Earth? 🤔 Keep up the great work - getting out there and enjoying the environment and recording it if you get an urge. Feel free to let out a muffled snigger when out and about and you pass a fellow landscape photographer who’s spent four times the amount of money that you have but isn’t getting four times the photography results or more importantly, the overall enjoyment. 👊🏻
Hi Henry, when was this recorded ? Was thinking of popping over to the lakes this weekend for the autumn colours but it doesn’t look as if they’re ready yet, only got one opportunity to do it so gotta get it right 😁😁.
It's always about the walk Henry, you'll rarely get a great shot if you've not enjoyed the walk! Great to see you having an enjoyable day in the fells, and sharing a great route with us too!
Another great video. Lovely pics but lovely just to be out and about in nature

Thanks ever so much! I was really pleased with that iPhone image!!
Thee best form of exercise for the body & mind, “the hills”. Great video mate 💪📷
Absolutely mate, great for the head. Thanks a lot and hope you're keeping well
Great to be out doesn't matter where it is, l thought the leaf pic was great just need to open your eyes
Great walk Henry, thanks for sharing 😊
Cheers Janet :)
And what a beautiful day for a walk it was, at such an amazing location! What a nice surprise to see the heather still blooming at this time of year, love the image!
Yes it was very surprising!
Nice to see you out with with Adam again mate, loving your hiking videos you've been putting out recently 👍👍
Thank you mate. Looking forward to Wales soon :)
Another enjoyable video Henry. A lot of the scenery in your video reminds me of the mountains here in Ash County ,North Carolina.USA. And yes, we even have an occasional jet or two buzzing by.
I agree a simple walk- OK if you have that area on your doorstep I guess
Another great one Henry! Adam looks less enthusiastic about this uphill bit @5:40 but good to see Adam on this one too :)
Loved it

Good to see you and Adam teaming up again Henry. Loved the B&W image at 21:37, the light against the side of the fell was stunning
That was a great walk 👍🙂
Lovely video Henry you were certainly blessed with the weather 😍
Henry, what's up brotha. You are the energizer bunny of landscape photography. Keep on going buddy, we will keep on watching!! Great work

Thank you mate! I quite liked the black and white in the end
2025 Calendar dropped through with the post today, many thanks Henry Turner
You're very welcome, that's great! You are the first to let me know you have received it, so that's brilliant news!!
Enjoyed this video - I’ve visited the waterfall when we were in the area after I saw your last video, and interested in your comments about Holme Fell being one for the less fit amongst us! Might give it a try 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, definitely give it a go!
Great as always. May check that walk out in the next few weeks.
Please do!

Those high clouds were screaming black and white with a yellow or red filter. I know you can do it in post these days, but I'm old fashioned 😂
Dont always need to get great images to have a good day out Henry, especially when with a friend.

Hi mate yes it was Ashness Bridge! I do need to explore around the bridge a bit more next tome
Hey Henry, how about using a reusable water bottle instead of plastic. Would set a good example.
Surely you’ll never be considered a ‘proper’ photographer Henry until you sell an organ and get a Hasselblad Earth? 🤔

Hi mate, this was recorded only on Monday (14th Oct). I hope that helps!!
@@HenryTurnerphoto cheers for that mate, bit the bullet and bought me ticket, off to the lakes I go 😁😁😁😁😁
