Wow. Fantastic conditions and images there Henry. Must have been a great day out with the camera. I’ve just purchased a Sony A6700 APS-C camera as a second camera as I want something lighter weight for longer hikes and travel photography. Early impressions look very promising and the weight and space saving is excellent. Looking forward to putting it through its paces soon to see how it compares to my full frame camera over a longer period of time
Kinda interesting you mention the low-light advantage your Nikon has... which to some degree is true. However, given you can shoot wider open with the OLY' for the same DOF (all else being equal) one could argue you don't need to climb the iso as high- somewhat negating the Nikon advantage in that regard.
Thanks for sharing another great video Henry! I've got 3 setups now, Panasonic G100 and Leica 12-60mm for business trips and every day, Nikon D7500 with 18-140mm and 70-300mm for longer trips without my car and then I've got some bigger, heavier f1.8 and super-telephoto lenses for the D7500 when I'm away with the car. I tried the compact camera with a 1in sensor for travel but just didn't like the drop in quality. Micro 4/3 is a good compromise.
I have the old Olympus E-M1 mark 2 as my main camera, and the even older Olympus E-PL1 for an everyday carry. Usually just use a 25mm manual focus Chinese lens or the Olympus 45mm 1.8 on the EDC. Surprisingly good images from that old 12mp camera. The E-M1 gets the OLYMPUS 12-100mm f4 Pro lens and the 100-400mm for wildlife.
Hi Henry, thanks for a chilly grand day out. Some wonderful light ! ... As for Camera setups ... I'm in the cheap seats .. 1 x D3500. Would love something more elegant, but hard to justify spending more, when after all thats why I bought an interchangeable lens camera .. and watching the pennies is a preoccupation. Keep up the good work!
Hi Henry, my main camera is an Oly EM5 from 2012, with the Pana-Leica 12-60mm lens. I have a 2nd body (also EM5) with its 14-42mm kit lens. Surprisingly good for landscape photography, and the files can be pulled quite a bit in post, so all good!
Uriah! It's been 30 years since I lived in cold country and my feet got cold just watching the wet snow on the road. Every fall and early winter the body has to adjust. Come late winter spring that is light jacket and a sweater weather. LOL
Looks like you covered a fair bit of ground today Henry and was good to see you get a return for that effort. Loved the images, especially the final 3 and im sure ut wint be long till you're back bsck up over the border with the Blue Jay
Ohhhh it's so frustrating losing even the tiniest of bits of equipment.....lens caps and hoods included. I almost feel like setting up a search party to head out and find it!!
I have an OM5 and I’ve just bought an Olympus 9mm Fish Eye Body Cap lens from Amazon Black Friday deals for £45, with the idea of making the camera even more portable. I’m now scared to use it in case I’m really disappointed with the results. Haven’t even tried it yet. I suppose you get what you pay for. 🤔. We'll see.
@@HenryTurnerphoto Thats great, love watching your video adventures. I am a press photographer and have been for many many years. Never get out and about much just work work work in the cities etc.
The snow covered ferns are calling to you! Just a bloke walking down the road talking to himself. 😊. You’re hilarious! Love it! Beautiful images!
So glad you are enjoying M43's setup Henry. Fantastic picture from Tenerife! Really enjoying your channel. Thanks 🙂
Thanks a lot!
First rule of trekking: always tuck ur trous into ur socks! Keeps out the ticks in summer & the nasties in winter Ur enthusiasm is great! 👍
