It is fun to see that you are using AFFORDABLE camera gear . A few of your RUclipsrs colleagues have been flashing with the Hasselblad X2D ... Most of their viewers can't offerd such a camera ! Keep it simple and eat ripe bananas while shooting with « normal» camera. We love it.

It's not just the photography but the Geology that grabs my attention. I see those cracks/gouges in the rock surfaces and try to imagine when most of the land was under XXs feet of ice. Did visit the area in the 60s with only a few family photos of us beside a tarn or 3. Kodak Instamatic if I recall and now scanned onto a hard drive; fond memories - Thanks Henry👍

Lyng is a common Norwegian plant that grows in dry and scanti soil, often found in the mountains. The most common of them in Norway is "røsslyng". Beautiful plant with vibrant colours. I guess the vikings has a sketchy reputation, but it's good to know that they at least can be remembered by naming parts of the landscape which they were "visiting". Tip: visit Helgelandskysten, beautiful landscapes and nice people🙂Who knows, maybe you will find some røsslyng to photograph in the foreground

Fantastic views and weather, beautiful. I lost the same plastic part and found it again, added a spot of super glue, and ordered a spare part that was not too expensive.

Nice one Henry recovering your eye piece. In terms of your crisps segment, I love opening a bag of plain crisps and adding my own salt and vinegar, so much tastier 😂

Re gear. Not so much yourself but with other YT-bers I notice that while they have the best of gear some of their best shots are taken on a drone with what must be a relatively basic camera. Makes you wonder if there is any point stressing over gear. I suspect very little. 🤔
PS - You’re right. The shot is the excuse for being out away from everyday stresses. Just enjoying the fresh air and scenery is the main event. Getting a “worldie” shot is simply a bonus.

I'm amazed you found that eyepiece! It seems quite a common thing to lose, I've seen several reports. Fortunately, they are fairly cheap to replace from Ebay etc. I also love your enthusiasm for the hills, almost as much as for photography. In fact I watch your channel as much for the Wainrights as for the photography content to be honest.

Great vlog Henry, my wife and I just returned from our trip to the Lake District what a beautiful place, i would just like to say thank you in one of your earlier videos you recommended going to Wast water im so pleased we did Absolutely breathtaking we will definitely be returning to the Lake District.

None of the paths were "constructed" when Wainwright was walking the 214 hills...or indeed when I was doing them for the first time back in the mid 70's!

As always Henry another great video in a stunning area of this beautiful country we live in, lost count on the number of rubber viewfinder peices I have lost over the years, and a nice surprise to see my name on the screen at the end, keep up the great work.

you're definitely not alone loosing the rubber eyepiece, Henri ... it happened to me several times over the years, both with Olympus and Panasonic cameras ... nowadays, I secure them with a drop of "bison" seconds glue ... nice video, btw ...
Fantastic vlog this week Henry! I really felt like I was up there with you, thanks for sharing your adventure! I just picked up a secondhand micro 4/3 camera and a 12-60 lens to make the hikes a bit less of a slog, following your example! Have a great weekend!

Those eyecups are famed for coming off in use. The best tip I found was to use a couple of dabs of clear nail varnish on each side where it clips on and allow to dry thoroughly. That gives just enough purchase to avoid accidentally pulling it free, and as it is clear then it is invisible. All the best Henry

Thank you Henry, for a lovely trip in the fantastic countryside. The Danish word for heather is "lyng", but Danish is not that far from Norwegian, so probably the same.
By the way, the heather is really beautiful in Denmark this year, but we don't have the beautiful landscape to show it off at all 🤷♀️😉

Hiya Henry, another grand day out thanks for sharing. Great find locating the eye cup, they're suprisingly expensive for what they are ... I keep dislodging the one on my D3500, but so far, much more by luck than judgement, each time I've managed to find it. Some more lovely images .. and really looking forward to Autumn.

Lovely to see you out with your OM5, Henry. I was out today with mine (albeit not in the same beautiful landscape as you, but in botanic gardens) plus my newest lens, the Lumix Leica 12-60mm. It is indeed a great combination, and OMG is it sharp!!! It’s on special atm. Glad you found your viewfinder piece. Mine used to drop off my EM5iii quite easily. Will have to watch my OM5!

Interesting timing.... Not strictly actual camera related, but I was out on Helvellyn yesterday. It was a quick up and down from Swirls to break up a long journey south from the Isle of Skye. I did a little litterpick on the way which was awesome, but whilst chilling at the top of Lower Man I popped my phone down to the side of me..... And only realised it was no longer with me, when I was a third of the way down... 💩💩🤦♂
Mad dash back up, since it is my 'car key' as well.... But all good in the end 😌

If you have to loose a piece of gear, that's it. Hard to find anything we use that would be less expensive.

Oki Brother - I find it amazing where you are in England. Had no idea you had such beautiful landscape there. Scottland = yes but not England so am amazed at the beauty. I could easily live among such beautiful background. Am a Mountain Man for certain and appreciate the fantastic energy mountains evoke. Most people do not understand that energy, but I certainly have lived it my whole life, so know it well. Brings one much closer to the Creator. Thank-You
