Next time just heat the trunk lid to help remove the old spoiler? The heat would have spread faster being a metal. Low heat, nothing too long in one spot. Good vid, good looking spoiler too.

Thanks for the vid. I've been searching for a Aero company to buy products for my 435i. I'd been specifically looking for forged carbon and Gates has it! I just wish the spoiler for mine was a tad smaller. They only make the high kick for mine. I just contacted them for pricing and availability.
Cliff Walden glad to hear it! I used to not like high kick spoilers until I tried it. Now I feel like the little deck lid ones are too small. I think you’ll like a high kick once you have it on the car. Definitely let George at Gates Innovations know that I sent you! He’s the owner. Super nice guy, easy to work with! Just hope he can get you something soon, since I know this COVID-19 outbreak is causing some disturbance with a lot of businesses, including his. Good luck!

whats the best product to clean up the surface after removing an old spoiler ?
Googone or something similar to remove all remaining adhesive. I generally try to claybar before installing a new spoiler. You want good adhesion so I don’t recommend adding any wax or anything before installing.
Great informative vid! do you know if removing a spoiler on a wrapped car will damage the wrap? especially with a heat gun and removing the glue residue
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately yes, I think you'll end up ruining the wrap underneath the spoiler. You'll likely have to rewrap the trunk.
NO my car was wrapped and I had the same spoiler installed and there was no damage to my wrap just be extra careful when u take the tape off thats all
