This is hands down the best tutorial on the internet for making masks, especially for beginner sewers. I’m going to send this to my nieces who are brand new sewers. Much love! Thanks!
Hi Pamela! All I masks that I have come across all have some gaps on the side edges. This happens because of the elastic that goes around the ears. The only thing I can think of that might help to prevent this, is to make the elastics longer.
I love the fabric front side print, so pretty! What foot are you using on the machine? I'm one that just bought my SE1900 and the auto thread hook broke on it so now I have to have someone fix it. I bought my machine from Amazon. I love your videos, keep them coming!
Great video, you explain things so well. May I ask, where you got your sewing table? If I may, have a suggestion for your center seam, press seam allowance in opposite directions for the two pieces, when putting right sides together, butt the seams up like you were would for quilt pieces. You will have less bulk and a more secure seam. 🤓
Hi BC. The table is actually my son's old computer desk. It was purchased from IKEA. Thanks for the tip on the seam allowance. My mom said the same thing. It does look better when you do that!
can the Brother SE1900 sew through many layers? I am very much interested in purchasing one but I am not sure if it can handle more complicated and demanding projects. I am deciding either this or a Janome QDC machine. I love your videos and I love how informative you are!!!
Hi William. I have sewed through many layers on the machine and it seemed to work fine. I have made wallets and bags going through layers of cotton fabric and batting. I have also sewed on vinyl and leather as well. Make sure you use the right needle for the right project.
Love your masks. I made a couple from You Tube instructions but not as nice fitting. A small piece of pipe cleaner can be inserted over the nose but yours don't need it. I've worn the paper surgical masks for yrs & a trick is to make a loop before putting over your ear if too big. Making elastic longer is better cause you can add loop but too short can't be adjusted. I used shoelaces for ties on great grandkids cause of small faces. I had Spiderman & Barbie shoelaces which they loved. It was just for fun cause I didn't want them scared but some health workers make their children wear them now. Thank you!
Hi Duchess! Glad you are enjoying making them. They are pretty simple to make and folks do like them. Thanks so much for the positive feedback! Please stay safe!
I love your videos. I really love how you explain step by step. Were did you say you got your iron. And yes I would like to have the mask template . Thank you for your videos it helps me so much
Hi Terri, I have seen some folks embroider on the face mask. I personally don't do it cause I feel it might make the mask less safe. When you are embroidering you are punching in hundreds or thousands of holes in the fabric (depending on your design). I prefer to use Heat Vinyl Transfer on the face to personalized them if the customer wants the face mask to say something.
I was glad to see your video. I am very interested in anew machine, but, I wanted one that sews, embroiders and monograms. Also, wondering if it’s hard to import purchased designs.
Hi Terri. The SE 1900 is great. It was so worth the money. I love the 5x7 hoop and I have no problems buying embroidery designs and importing them on the machine. It embroiders very nicely.
Hello, just curious if you own a multi needle embroidery machine why did you buy a single needle machine? I was debating whether single or multi needle, and of course price was a big factor.
But never get my elastic I will give this mask a try. You cant get anything off Amazon haha it all comes from China. And walmart is empty of anything to do with sewing. But love you videos. Keep up the good work for us new guys to sewing and embroidering thanks again the old fart haha. Did not know you were in Vi. Go there a lot well did till now go on 81 to 17 to 95 love the drive. 8 hours I see the Camera guy still doing a great job. Haha
Thanks so much for your quick response to my questions! Love your videos, thank you!!
Glad you like them!
I make my mask the same way.
I like the way it fits.
Thank you for the tutorial.. I love the way you didn’t rush through and showed all steps.. you’re awesome 😎
Glad it was helpful!

Hi Rosa, The iron is wireless. I love it. It's a Panasonic NI-WL600 Cordless. I purchased it from Amazon.
How do you embroider on the face mask?

I posted a new video last week showing all the machines. Why I purchase it and cost. This video should help.
Do you use the same thread for sewing and embroidery? I'm new to sewing in general and I purchased the SE1900
Hi Marina. No i use different threads and I do that because of the cost. Embroidery thread costs more.
Get your sewing thread from Walmart. As for embroidery thread, I brought the 63 Embroidery thread from Amazon.
Thank you for this videos .. ..do you have this videos in Spanish or do you plan on making this videos in Spanish ?
Hi Rosi, I will be making videos in spanish as well. If I don't Mami will kill me. LOL
i tried to get the email and it would not work
I have been getting requests from folks. Copy and past this: UniqueDesigns4You@aol.com
