Thank you for this video. I thought this machine was a rip off because my designs were so horrible. Come to find out there was plastic on one of the bobbin screws that was interfering with the tension. I had to pull it out with a tweezer. Without this video, I would have never looked 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
So glad the video was a big help. Enjoy your machine. You are really going to love it. I have owned this machine now for over 4 years and love using it. Have fun!
I hope you can answer my question, I’m not seeing any bobbin thread on the back at all. It’s only my top color thread and I tried everything to get both colors on the back. I have this se 1900
That means your tension is too tight. You will need to adjust the bobbin tension. Set the machine on 4 and move the screw on the bobbin case to the left until you find the right balance.
Let me tell you, my entire household knows your voice lol. I play your videos alllll day long for reassurance lol. Brilliant! So the one we are adjusting on the display is the top thread? When we lower the number we loosen the tension on the top thread? What size needle are you using. I was embroidering on flannel. I was wondering if it was my needle because the machine tension was fine when I was sewing.
Hi Jader. Yes you can. The only difference between the PE800 and the SE1900 is that the SE1900 also does sewing and the PE800 is embroidery only. Both use. the 5x7 hoop.
I’ve never had problems with the default bobbin tension before, but soon as I changed the pre wound bobbin out to put a new one in, I’ve been seeing the bobbin thread on top of the fabric. I changed the needle and put in more bobbin thread & even checked to make sure the bobbin case was clean. I didn’t change the tension setting, the pattern I chose or anything, now I can’t get rid of this problem.
Hi Monica, You have to make sure the embroidery bed is attached to the machine and then turn it on. You stick the flash drive into the usb port which is located in the right side of the machine. Then click on the USB button on the LCD screen. You will see our embroidery designs. Make sure you are using PES format and they designs fit in a 5x7 hoop. Have fun with your machine!
Thank you so much for this video! What kind/ weight thread and needle type are you using? Before I got my machine I saw a site that recommended brothread 40 weight. I think that was a bad choice. Maybe it's too thick for embroidery? and for the needles that my SE2000 came with.
Hi Ashleyopolis, 40 wt is the correct embroidery thread to use with a size 75/11 needle. You use 60 wt when embroidering small fonts with a size 65/9 needle.
Hi! I really enjoy your videos and recently bought an SE1900 too! I want to draw some designs myself and want to transfer them to the machine, but I need to change them into PES files since it’s the only type Brother will accept. Do you know how I can do this? Or what embroidery digitalizing software to use/buy?? Thanks!!
I’m having some tension issue.. I’m using brother bobbin thread and winding it with the machine but bobbin thread is still showing. Can I switch to the alternate bobbin case and adjust it, even though I’m still using the original Brother thread?
Hi Nguyen. I would definitely try using the other case. It might help. I personally don't wound my own bobbins. I prefer to use the pre-wound bobbins. Here is the link to the ones I use in case you are interested in trying them: amzn.to/3JGMGdM
This was very helpful, thank you Jeanette! I tried all of your tips and I’m still having problems with my satin stitch not being even on the right side of the fabric. The lines aren’t clean when I stitch out the “I”. Do you have any pointers you can share? Thank you so much in advance!!
Just set up my se1900 and have been binging all your videos. When I started doing some test runs before I monogrammed my sons shirt. I noticed when the pattern started I was getting very loose loops on the top part of the fabric (bottom fabric looks good) is this a tension problem or something else?
It can. If possible I would recommend checking the tension on the fabric you are about to embroider to make sure your setting are good. You don't want to start embroidering right away on your product if you are not sure.
Hello! I was sewing a satin fabric and was wondering how to change the tension for regular sewing ? I keep looking for videos but it’s always just for the embroidery? My old machine had a dial that I would spin to a specific tension but can’t seem to figure out this one :(
Hi Glorianne! I haven't had to adjust my tension for any types of fabrics. But to be careful, I would recommend embroidering the letter L on a sample of the fabric to ensure the tension is right.
Jeanette, This video is one of the most important for who is beginning like me, and I have a question 🙋♂️, I see your stabilizer is thicker or it has more bulk, more than sulky stabilizer. The sulky stabilizer and that one in your video has the same goal? Sorry for bothering you!
Hi Jader! No bother at all! You’re learning so ask away!!!! I used tear away stabilizer for this video. It’s medium weight. I purchase this from Amazon. Sometimes if I want to test the tension without fabric I will double up on the stabilizer ( I hoop two sheets of the tear away together.
Yes. I would really recommend using cut away. When embroidering on clothes you should always you cut away because they get washed often and the embroidery can crumble up after the wash. Some folks use tear away but for me. Clothes that are washed often is better with cut away.
What if there are gaps in the embroidered design? There is no bobbin thread showing up but there are “clear” spots in the design where the color didn’t fill in the outline entirely and it made some holes in the clothing as well
Hi Megan, If there are lots of gaps in the embroidery design it could be the embroidery file itself. Another thing it could be is that the fabric is shifting in the hoop because it wasn't tighten correctly.
Hi Justine! Make sure you are putting in the new needle correctly. It should have the flat side facing away from you and you need to make sure you are going all the way up before tightening it. I find that sometimes my needles break because I didn't install it correctly.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts how do you transfer the design who is in the USB to the sewing machine. I will appreciate if you can be able to help me, Thank Monica Campana
I have the Brother 670E six needle. I definitely do recommend it. Easy to use! I am hoping that within a year, I can purchase the 10 needle machine. If you can afford the 10 needles I would purchase that one. It was a $5K difference in the price. The only reason why I didn't do the 10 needles was that I wasn't sure if I would be able to recoup the price with embroidery sales. I was wrong....It's definitely a good investment!
Hi Jeanette I started embroidering a large design for an hour and an half. I was toward the end of the design and the material starting to ball up together. I stopped it and looked at the back and notice a bird nest. I’m not understanding what went wrong it worked fine for an hour and then bird nest could this be the problem? Melt down
I have tension problems by My Brother SE725 it has no option when I press the scissors bottom. When I press it only turns on and off. No tension numbers. 🙁
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts the screen on the SE1900. Where it shows the design is just a box with a white background. No cross hairs like on your screen that breaks it up into 4 boxes.

Hatch software , make a free trial for 30 days and when its up just make a new account
I use Embrilliance as my embroidery software.
Hi Samantha. Try switching out the bobbin case. That might be it.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts I will try that, thank you!
Just set up my se1900 and have been binging all your videos. When I started doing some test runs before I monogrammed my sons shirt. I noticed when the pattern started I was getting very loose loops on the top part of the fabric (bottom fabric looks good) is this a tension problem or something else?
Hi Elyse. Your tension can be off.
So when you tighten the bottom bobbin, do you only have to adjust once, then it’s set?
I’ve been having problems where the bobbin thread shows a lot
You will need to adjust your bobbin. Set the tension to 4.0 and then work in the bobbin case. Test out your stitches with the letter I.
Thank you soooooo much. This is exactly what I needed to know....
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Jeanette, are you using a 90wt thread or 60wt thread for the bobbin?
I use the 60wt.
Can it also depend on fabric ?
It can. If possible I would recommend checking the tension on the fabric you are about to embroider to make sure your setting are good. You don't want to start embroidering right away on your product if you are not sure.
This was a game changer. Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
i think i fixed the issue . OH MY.. youre the best.. thanks
Awesome! Glad the video helped!!!
Hello! I was sewing a satin fabric and was wondering how to change the tension for regular sewing ? I keep looking for videos but it’s always just for the embroidery? My old machine had a dial that I would spin to a specific tension but can’t seem to figure out this one :(
Hi Lexie, Go to your owner's manual for the SE1900. Look at page B-41. This explains setting the thread tension for sewing. This will help.
Hi Jeanette, does the necessary tension vary between the types of fabrics being use? Or the density of the design?
Hi Glorianne! I haven't had to adjust my tension for any types of fabrics. But to be careful, I would recommend embroidering the letter L on a sample of the fabric to ensure the tension is right.
This was really informative.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video and find it helpful. Enjoy your machine.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts awesome!!
Do you think this medium weight stabilizer is good to do baby suits?
Thank youuuu
Yes. I would really recommend using cut away. When embroidering on clothes you should always you cut away because they get washed often and the embroidery can crumble up after the wash. Some folks use tear away but for me. Clothes that are washed often is better with cut away.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts thank you!!
Waiting for more videos 😃👏
My tshirts keep puckering a bit. Any tips or settings suggestion to avoid this from happening on a simple monogram?
Hi Bunny use starch on the shirts. That will help.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts Great! Should I spray starch them before I hoop and embroider them?
I have to make my first order ever and don’t want to mess up !!! Please help with design come out with a lil tension at done what can I do ?
Make sure you test stitch the design on scrap fabric before doing it on the product. Congrats on your first order!
Oh shit 10:00 😳 is perfect to say haha love your videos it has helped me a lot on my se1900 thank you🙏
LOL!!! Glad to know the videos are a great help! Enjoy your machine!
Thanks for sharing, you saved me 🙏
Hi Kisakye. Glad the video helped you out!!! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!
So bottom thread should show in center? On lettering on machine for two color?
You should see the bobbin thread in the back of the embroidery design in the center.
Why does a short piece of the white bobbin thread pull up to the top when the embroidery machine begins? Machine just started doing this. SE1900.
I would check the owner's manual to see this is how it should be working or you can contact Brother support.
Will this work for the PE800? I’m having the same issue /:
Hi Daisy, It will.
This was extremely helpful. Thank you!
Thanks! Glad it helped!
If i can't stop breaking my needles , is it because of the tension? 4 in less than 1 day (i make sure to use the right one the fabric :( )
Hi Justine! Make sure you are putting in the new needle correctly. It should have the flat side facing away from you and you need to make sure you are going all the way up before tightening it. I find that sometimes my needles break because I didn't install it correctly.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts thanks ! :)
Righty tighty, lefty loosey.... That's how I remember lol
Could you upload your own design in the machine
Hi Kurt, Yes. It will need to be in PES embroidery format. You would just insert your flash drive into the USB port.
Sooooo informative. Thank you!
Hi Jane! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!
My PE770 is nesting badly and no bobbin thread is showing at all. What should I do? Thread has also been breaking. I’m using a 75/11 needle.
Usually when there are nesting issues, it means the machine is not threaded correctly, this can usually cause thread breaking as well.
Did turning it to right tighten or loosen tension?
Hi Diana. Turn Right to tighten. Here is a phrase most folks use to remember: "Righty Tighty, lefty loosie....." :-)
Couls you upload your own design in the machine
Hi Kurt, Yes you can upload your own designs on the SE 1900. It has a USB port.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts how do you transfer the design who is in the USB to the sewing machine. I will appreciate if you can be able to help me, Thank Monica Campana
Just subscribed ❤️❤️🏴
Thanks!
Thank you. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful.
Glad to hear!
My bobbin does not show on the underside. Top looks great . What am I doing wrong? Is it bobbin or top tension?
Hi Jane, The tension is too tight. You should see a the bobbin thread in the middle like I demostrated in the video.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts You are the Best! may thanks for taking the time to answer on Thanksgiving!!!
which 6 needle machine are you using and do you recommend it?
Thanks a lot for the masks PDF
I have the Brother 670E six needle. I definitely do recommend it. Easy to use! I am hoping that within a year, I can purchase the 10 needle machine. If you can afford the 10 needles I would purchase that one. It was a $5K difference in the price. The only reason why I didn't do the 10 needles was that I wasn't sure if I would be able to recoup the price with embroidery sales. I was wrong....It's definitely a good investment!
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts Love your simple videos . you provide excellent guide
@@amaimani Thanks!
Melt down
Hi Ingrid. Was it a very dense design? How old was your needle?
solid info..thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
So, so helpful! Thank you so much!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!
Happy to help!

I have tension problems by My Brother SE725 it has no option when I press the scissors bottom. When I press it only turns on and off. No tension numbers. 🙁
Hi PixelFX. You might need to get it serviced.
Very Helpful! thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
How do you get the grid to show up on your screen? Mine is just the i in a big rectangle with no cross hairs.
Hi Stop the Insanity. What screen are you referring to? The ones on the SE1900 or the embroidery software?
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts the screen on the SE1900. Where it shows the design is just a box with a white background. No cross hairs like on your screen that breaks it up into 4 boxes.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts never mind. I figured it out. Thank you!
