Before Pete Sampras won his first Wimbledon title he played Goran in the Semifinals the year before Agassi won it , Goran destroyed Pete with serving bombs on the grass.
In the press conference Sampras said grass is not for me bcos I didn’t have a chance against that kind of serving, grass is for Cows , only won 7 , Goran was unstoppable on his day problem was he was inconsistent when the pressure came on, soooooooooo happy when he won one , grass was the only one he could ever hope for and he did it the one year no one thought he could

Goran was a talented Serve & Volley type of player without temperament.
One can't approach net for every Serve. Agile players will go for easy Passing Shot
Goran should have developed skills of hitting from Base line rallies to adjust himself to approach the net. But, He never developed skills of playing from Base line.
Goran always rushed to net and got Passing shot from the Opponents.
This is where Pete Sampras excelled. Pete Sampras would exchange few rallies from base line before approaching the net.
