    This is by far the best solution I've found anywhere. The only addition I would include is a organization folder for the tile pieces. While they can't be kept in the box, it makes setup and finding pieces you need a lot easier.

    • @TheMeepleMarathon
      @TheMeepleMarathon  2 года назад

      I think the reason I did not place the tiles in a folder is because I play a little game of tretris every time I put the game away, that way I can spread the tiles out across the large surface area. A folder would condense the tiles into a smaller footprint and you would probably get some lid lift. Up to you though. It is a slight pain to pull out all the tiles each time in order to get to the rest of the game.

    I had been watching learn to play videos for Gloomhaven from Dice Tower to JonGetsGames when this video auto started. I Watched your previous video (1.0) and now this one. Nice work. User created storage solutions are so entertaining to watch. Very good storage solution!!! I'm trying to find the mini pizza boxes here in Barcelona and it's impossible... Do you think that de photo boxes could do the job that the pizza boxes are doing? I mean, does the monster material fit inside the photo boxes? Thanks!

    • @TheMeepleMarathon
      @TheMeepleMarathon  4 года назад

      Hi Albert, yes, the photo boxes are wider than the pizza boxes, so the monster tokens should fit inside the photo boxes easily. The only issue you would run into is that turned sideways, they would stand taller than the pizza boxes. If you filled in the gap on the opposite side with all the long rectangular map tiles, then you would probably be okay. The pizza boxes just happen to be the same height as the character tuck boxes (included in the game) and my two plano boxes, creating a nice flat surface for the map to go.

    Love this solution, but how is it under $20? For two jewelry boxes with Honey's discount codes, 8 pizza boxes, 20 business card sheets and a set of dice boxes, I'm looking at nearly $30. Still need to get some 3-prong folders, and maybe some plastic bags for the remaining stuff in the box.

    • @TheMeepleMarathon
      @TheMeepleMarathon  5 лет назад

      The pizza boxes cost around $9 I believe and the two storage boxes I got on sale at Michael's Craft Supply for around $2.50 a piece (you can find a 40% off coupon almost every week for Michael's). The Avery sleeves were around $3 and I had to buy 2. So that all comes out to right around $20 plus tax. I already had the folders on hand. Still, $30 is much cheaper than a broken token organizer ;)

    • @carternelms5324
      @carternelms5324 5 лет назад +1

      @@TheMeepleMarathon Agreed, love the solution. I'm going to be stealing your ideas! That appraisal doesn't include the cost of the deck boxes, nor the cost of the folders, which does still apply to the price of the storage solution. I was left wondering if I was overpaying for something by about $10 when I tallied it all up. (Honey found the Michael's coupon for me, great to see that option.) I'll drop $30 for this over a minimum of $80 on a Broken Token option any day. Worth noting though that the cost here is higher than advertised, by about half.

    Hi Ryan! Great video for the DIY storage. I did have a question as I have not been able to pause the vid (this or the previous one...) to see exactly what is in the deck boxes? Are you just putting the Road in one and City in other? And lastly, how are you dividing up the huge stack of item cards for the folders? I followed your purchases to a T, just not following that part. I see two folders, but not sure how they were distributed. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheMeepleMarathon
      @TheMeepleMarathon  5 лет назад

      Hey Don ... Yes, the two deck boxes contain my Road events in one and my City events in another. I use a divider to keep the ones we have unlocked separate from the others. I also have the Random Dungeon cards that they provide for one off missions in one of the boxes. The two folders of item cards are for regular items (red back) and then unique items (blue back) that you unlock via treasure chests and scenario rewards. The red items I have turned the pages around backwards for any items we have not unlocked yet via the reputation track. Hope this helps.

    • @TheMeepleMarathon
      @TheMeepleMarathon  5 лет назад +1

      I would guess that thicker sleeves would probably work. I don't have any items sleeved inside the folders. When I pull an item out, I place it in a sleeve then and if I put it back, I take the sleeve off. I just keep a couple packs of sleeves in the box. I didn't sleeve everything from the start, just as I have needed a card. That being said, the cards without sleeves are very loose inside each little compartment, so I'm guessing there is plenty of room for a sleeved card. The card sleeve may make it tricky to pull out though (the friction between two pieces of plastic).

      They do, but I don't feel like it's hurting the integrity of the box. You can try and turn the boxes sideways. If you go with just 8 boxes, you could turn them sideways and do two columns of 4 and you get half an inch back. You could move the "SetUp" box into a photo storage box. It works if you only run with 3 characters or less, but if you keep 4 characters active all the time, you'd have to come up with something else for your "Set Up" items.
