      laminated sticker sheets. Brilliant. I think I like this better than the reusable stickers. Any issues with the laminated pieces moving around on the board? I’ve finally got a copy en route and I am going to be playing solo and with a group simultaneously. I don’t want to permanently modify the board. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks, sir. Really enjoy your content.

    The idea of printing the stickers and laminating then to stick them to the board with some tacky is genius! I will definitely do that :)

    Y.A.S.S. (Yet Another Storage Solution) for Gloomhaven over at Board Game Geek has an awesome thread showing a storage solution for under $20 using 3 Plano 3600 boxes and 1 Plano 3601 box. A couple of guys even went through the trouble of making PDF's you can print off and put inside all 4 Plano boxes showing exactly where everything goes. Even has pictures and quantity of each item. Good stuff.

    One thing I've found useful and doesn't cost very much is Christmas gift boxes, and I'm talking about the ones that are the same sturdiness as game boxes, ( not the flimsy shirt boxes ) you can find a fairly good size box for about $6-$8 bucks and sometimes cheaper in the off season...but you will need to reskin them and or paint the outside of the box so you Gloomhaven isn't on the shelf in a Frosty the Snowman box...I've done this for multiple games and even done this if a game box get badly damaged

    I picked up Gloomhaven as my very first real board game(not said in a bad way). I have had it for a week or so and dont want to punch the cardboard stuff till I figure out how I want to store it. I've looked/read at bunch of different ways. I like yours a lot do to the simplicity of it. But I also really like TBT insert. I think it may be worth the money, but I'm not sure about the monster tuck boxes that they use. I like the look of them but here they can be hard to repack. Something I think I can overcome. Thanks for a great video. I am so excited to play this. I'm working on getting a group of 2 to 3 friends to join me in the adventure.

      Have fun playing Gloomhaven! I wanted to show an alternate option to spending a lot on a custom insert. The insert can be used as is very nicely. The biggest thing is the box to store tokens. That’s the biggest setup time saver. Plus at that time there wasn’t many inserts in the wild for me. Hope it helps and see you around :)

    Just curious, as you are resetting the game multiple times, how do you handle the individual character "upgrades" which are normally tracked with a sticker on the player card? Thanks again for helping!!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 лет назад +1

      I laminated a sheet of the upgrades. Cut them out. Use them and then when resetting I pull them off the card. I put a tiny bit of sticky tac on the card and put the laminated upgrade on. Then it’s sleeved. However the reset pack is the easiest way for sure at this point as it just includes a new sticker sheet.

  • @BFGDoc

    Hey there! Wonderful video, thanks for sharing! I JUST ordered Gloomhaven and want to pick up some sleeves for the cards. Can you recommend, or let me know what sleeves you are using? Looks like 2 or 3 sizes as well. Again, wonderful solution!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 лет назад

      Hey James! I'm using Mayday I believe. Just two types. The mini sleeves and the standard size if I'm not mistaken. Don't quote me as I'm not close to the game at the moment. Check the Gloomhaven BoardGameGeek page for more info on which types of Mayday sleeves work! Cheers :)

    • @Hank_Mardookie
      @Hank_Mardookie 5 лет назад

      I know this is a bit late but from the dimensions of the game (from amazon’s posting) I THINK it’s a 3750. Well...an older version that is now a “pro-latch”. That’s what I’m going to buy along with the game and cross my fingers lol

  • @crushingit5128
    @crushingit5128 7 лет назад +3

    OMG just got the game and spent roughly 5 hours messing with ways to store everything within the box. Love that you did a video about this.
    Loving the game. Pure genius. But no joke kind of hating the creator for including so much content. I feel we could of gotten the same quality of a game without the ridiculous amount of material that is borderline obnoxious. Do we really need like 30 something different monsters and about 100 tiles that might only be used once in about 50 missions?
    I'm enjoying the game immensely. But when there are 100s if not 1000s of posts on ways to store everything, you know it's a problem.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад +1

      +Crushing It Hey Crushing IT! All fair points. The game is a beast, but most of us knew that going in as it doesn’t hide its size well haha
      Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I think I’m the long run you’ll be happy you have more content than not enough! So there’s a plus :)
      Cheers!

    What kind of lamination did you used? Whenever I laminate and then cut, the lamination peals.
    Thanks

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад

      I went to my local copy and print center. I believe there were two lamination options. The thickest one was really rigid so I went with the lesser option so it could bend. Where did you get yours done that peeled?

    • @MrMy23
      @MrMy23 7 лет назад

      Thanks for your reply.
      I did my at officeworks. I believe they only have 1 option for laminating which I think is probably using 80 microns pouches. Maybe the laminating pouches they use do not have any glue to adhere to the paper

  • @MrFless
    @MrFless 7 лет назад +1

    Nice...but whats about sleeving cards and keep everything inside?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Mr. Fless, thanks for watching! I mentioned how I sleeve during the video. In terms of keeping everything inside the box I found this to be the worst way to get the game to the table to quickest. It was better to organize the contents and keep the map tiles outside the box in a container. Setup and tear down are much better now.

  • @Exit82guy

    sorry to bother u again...but i did what u did b4 watching this ...but i have monster stat cards that dont have any card attack associated with them ...is that corrected ,or am i missing cards?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 лет назад

      I very much doubt you’re missing cards. The monster stat cards are specific. The mini cards can be generic to multiple types of enemies. If one word matches it typically belongs to that enemy. For instance, ‘boss’ cards are used for all the unique bosses. Same logic applies to some of the other monsters. Cheers!

  • @alongson
    @alongson 6 лет назад +1

    I’ve followed your system with my 3rd printing of the game and I seem to have a lot less cards than you. With your monster stacking system with the cards, you say you don’t have room for them all and your boss cards are put down the side. I had room for them all with room to spare. Could it be the fact that your cards are sleeved?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 лет назад

      Yes! Card sleeving adds to the thickness. All my are premium sleeves so they are 100 microns thick each. It adds up! :)

    • @alongson
      @alongson 6 лет назад +1

      Rolling Solo thanks. I’ve just ordered sleeves as the cards are thinner than I expected. Only paid £11 for 600 so I guess they’re not premium! Lol. They’ll do the job though! Thanks again.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 лет назад

      I also buy ones which aren’t a premium and find they’re just fine. Premium is sometimes overkill and expensive.

    I love the look of all the Gloomhaven stuff, and I want to protect it all, but like you, I have a hard time paying for a solution that costs as much as the game itself.
    (I did indeed get my 2e edition for only $100 but I really don't want to shell out another $80-90 bucks on the Broken Token, Daedelus, or Meeple Realty ones, although they do look amazing)
    Seeing what you have here, I like the idea of using what is already there to your advantage, with no need to buy other items or use bags that could become messy.
    In the end, I currently have plenty of cardboard, a ream or two of cardstock, as well as plastic transparencies. Combining those two with an X-acto and some tape, i think I can create a decent set of trays that will hold the tokens, and even have a see-thru covering as a lid.
    I think BGG has some files on the Gloomhaven page for tuckbox plans and such, so I will start there and see what works and can mesh with my own ideas.
    Thanks again for showing your setup!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад

      The insert that comes with it along with Plano boxes easily handle the organization. The card setup for monsters and their abilities in the bottom of the box that I lined up makes them super easy to find when needed. So it all doesn’t have to be on the table. I don’t plan on getting an insert for this game as creativity is sometimes a better and cheaper solution! Glad you found it helpful! I’ve seen others setups as well and found them quite cool too. Nothing wrong with an insert but I’d rather buy a new game!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад

      At least for this one as the insert is super expensive!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Marc! It's still a great solution. If you have the coin, the Broken Token is a quality product. I've seen some videos on their Gloomhaven one and it looks great. I have a Broken Token insert for LOTR LCG. :)
