I'm really glad I found you. 57 and starting over... Time to get my fitness back like it was for most of my life.... I'll be studying up on you Chanel and looking for a starting point. Thank you!
Many serious experts would attest that a big chunk of the population would be at an orthopedist office then. For another big chunk it might work very well though... Aka - no criticism of this exercise (nor this dude), but of thinking of workout as of a half-way panacea of sorts.
I don’t care what you call them. This is a concise step by step guide to building up to the full movement. For those that have never done it. Good work Mark.
Did 5 of these this morning with my other exercises upon waking. Fantastic! Thank you. I will add these every day and insert them several times a day for better conditioning and strength.
I’d like to think it is a progression beyond what was demonstrated as well as the basic squat push-up without having to have a wall. There are lots of regressions and progressions into pike push-ups, pikes with feet on wall or preferrably a step and then a box and eventually a handstand push-up and for a few scorpion push-ups.
You’re correct. They are called Tyson’s. Bodyweight exercisers do Tyson’s without the wall. It depends what group you follow, is what you call them. The wall is good for beginners though. I can only do them with a wall.
Nice new content! I can see these eventually working through to the addition of step throughs which lead directly to building strength for Turkish getups so another interesting cycle.
I've been using the push up outlined here, but I've seen it called the "Push Plank" by the Tacfit community. It's a great variation, much like the "Screwing Push Up".
Scott Sonnon Tacfit style push ups ‘sliding plank’ even more advanced is when you start to twist. All based on the Persian push up practice Zurhkhaneh(spelling)
I didn't find this that difficult so instead of pushing back upwards slide your nose about 1 inch above the floor towards your feet when you cannot go back anymore then push up and lean forward into the push up position and repeat. this puts maximum pressure on the arms and shoulders. OH, and I am 77yrs old. LOL.
I work at a computer 8 hours a day, wearing a wrist guard to prevent any possibility of carpal tunnel. When I do push up or plank I have a difficult time with the pressure that I'm using on my wrists. Is there an exercise that will ease the pain and pressure on my wrists so that I can perform those type of exercises without the pain and pressure?
Found out last week that I have stage 3 degeneration in my knees, and I'm kind of scared to do squats now. As someone who has had a lot of knee issues, any advice?
@ I did, he told me to take a few days off from working out and gave me some pills. Hence my question to the professional trainer and someone with knee issues.
@@dmitryivanov9026 about three years ago I asked him for advice about my shoulder locking up. He said heavy clubs. I bought a heavy club and learned to swing it. Now I have no shoulder problems.
with clean & press programs, I've read threads were some people comment that they don't miss squatting, the legs are used of course ( but no large flex / ext around the knee ) , maybe you could explore those, see if they aggravate it, while still figuring out the squat thing gradually, I don't have major knee issues nor a doctor.
The problem I have with push ups is that I get a pain in my wrist and forearm after doing them. I have to use a push up bar to negate this, but I still get it after high volume of doing them
Have you had a past injury? For me what works is doing some wrist exercises, there's a lot out there. Once I did those, I was able to do lots of Push ups and I also felt capable of hitting the heavy bag without feeling pain, and now I do them everyday without discomfort on my wrists
Can you react to Dr Mikes comments regarding Joe Rogans Kettlebell Training, Imo he really hated kettlebells and basically denied their effectiveness and reduced it to a mere blood flow activation and muscle growth incentive for absolute beginners Since you are at an advanced level and a kb advocate I would like to hear thoughts on that topic since Dr Mike claims to have extensive knowledge
Dr. Mike has some good stuff but he is all about hypertrophy, i.e getting as big as possible. Hence he is more into heavy weights (and steroids and such crap) and has a hard time seeing past that
I don’t get why don’t just do regular indian pushups instead? this seems like a very robot-like movement plus it don’t really hit the lower back how you would like it given you’re also mostly sedentary
No and I think you are missing the scalability toward Tyson push-ups and other good things. Give the man credit as he is installing and laying down excellent material for persons at a wide range of conditions and strength as well as weight levels.
I sent a message via your website to ask for further info on your programs. That was approx x6-8 weeks ago. Never heard back. But now seem to get emails from you (on your email data base)
Great movement. As you mention about the burpee, push-ups and planks see many people trying to maintain a “flat back”, which after a very short while turns into that “sag”. This movement here can help to reinforce the fact that there should be a little bit of an elevated hip position, as opposed to trying to maintain a level position. If that makes sense 😂
Hey, Beast load my bottom!! Blacks been doing it for years!! Its called the Mike Tyson!! You also have the Choas Pushup!! Blacks need to patent things 😮
in Animal Flow it is called beast. You know the.move.from MT great, honor.him. But to think that through human history he came up with it, is a bit of a stretch. my.opinion.

'The most important thing in your training is your consistency.' Imagine where you'd be if you did a round of these pushups every day for a year.

And diet is of the utmost importance
Thanks Mark - at 67 I tried and did ten beast push-ups and wow I like it.
one of my favorite videos by you. Push up so universal and the progressions are never ending. thanks

A great channel that just keeps getting better.
Actually started doing these with a downward dog as part of my warmup for bjj and judo a few months ago.
Did 5 of these this morning with my other exercises upon waking. Fantastic! Thank you. I will add these every day and insert them several times a day for better conditioning and strength.
Great instruction!!
Looks like a Tyson Push-Up without the wall.
which is good because you can't load a wall in your truck and carry it around

Plastikmaiden , I agree it’s a Tyson push-up without the wall
Oh well if y’all agree it must be true 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Aren't these also known as the Tyson push ups?
Thought these were called “Mike Tyson” pushups?
In yoga it is called Chaturanga Dandasana to Balasana.
I didn't find this that difficult so instead of pushing back upwards slide your nose about 1 inch above the floor towards your feet when you cannot go back anymore then push up and lean forward into the push up position and repeat. this puts maximum pressure on the arms and shoulders. Which school of kettlebells would be better for martial arts? Sport or hardstyle?
Do you have any programs for kids over 10? If not, witch one do you suggest from yours? (Clubs and mace) thanks
What exercise are you doing at 1 min 55 seconds in? Is there a video for it?
The Club exercise is an inside mill. The bell exercise I think, but not a 100% sure. Is a double bent press.
It's the Mike Tyson push-up. Those are hard but great.

You can try knuckle pushups.
If you add a wall behind in the first move it is called the Mike Tyson Push up.
Excellent

So rocking push ups
Wow I’ve just tried to do the sliding plank toes down - wow I can’t do it 😮
Is this not the Mike Tyson push up
Mark: delay the workout; lets take the car for a run 🙂
I do these bare foot. That way I don't get a pronounced crease in my shoe when I roll onto my toes.
Mike Tyson pushup variation without the explosive motion and foot to wall base, slow steady and concentrated.
Child to cobra pose
how about adding a PIKE

Already seen the variation in a lot of places but one is Sapate, the hindu burpee
This nothing but a Tyson pushup .
